During the recent frigid weather, I had a frozen water pipe. Garrett was extremely helpful, skilled, and kind. He did a great job of rerouting the water pipes to my kitchen sink, so that they no longer pass through an outer wall. Received a discounted rate as McQuillan had re-plumbed my house in 2023.

Mat arrived as scheduled and checked my furnace as well filters in my air exchange system. He did an excellent job and also mentioned some things that would need to be done later this year. I appreciated his thoroughness on checking that all those systems were working well.

They were very professional and communicated quickly, easy to setup anappointment. They showed up on time and got me an estimate the same day.

Had them re-run some gas lines to the water heater and stove. They will also likely be doing a sewer liner in the next few weeks!

Don't waste your time trying to schedule an appointment with them! I called in early November for a furnace tune-up/inspection, the first appointment the had was the middle of December (clue #1). The day before the appointment the sent a text asking me to reply C to confirm the appointment, which I did. The next day they sent another text saying that due to a high volume of service calls, they would have to reschedule my appointment. Translated, your $29 tune-up isn't as profitable as the other service requests we are receiving so we're going to push you out...to FEBRUARY (clue #2). Yesterday I received an email confirming my appointment for today. Today I received a text, "Just want to give you a heads up that our tech will not be able to make it out today due to some unforeseen circumstances". I responded asking them to cancel my appointment, no need to reschedule, which they did not respond to, even though they responded to other texts I sent them.

They have two goofy guys in their commercials showing the things they are not good at, they should add keeping appointments to that list.

And, if there is a real person reading this, no need to respond telling me you are sorry and would like the chance to make it right. There isn't a snowball's chance on the sun that I would ever give you another chance. And, if a response like that does come, we will know it's AI.

My tankless water heater wasn't producing hot water. I called McQuillan in the morning and they had someone here by the afternoon!
The technician was very friendly and courteous. He was familiar with the model I have and after doing some initial testing, was quickly on the phone with the manufacturer, doing a deep dive into diagnosing the unit.
He then did a great job of explaining the problem and the repair options to me.
Highly recommend!

The three people I met at McQuillan were very nice, knowledgeable, and respectful of me and my home. They did great work installing a new water heater that required moving it over a few feet and replacing gas lines to be up to code. Highly recommend!

Rick came for a plumbing inspection and water heater flush.
Was very pleased with how quick it was! Super easy to show him where everything was, and when he was done, he talked me through everything and gave me some additional information on ways to keep the life of the plumbing items at their best.

Rick came to our home on one of the coldest winter days in Minnesota we’re talking -15 degrees and still showed up with a great attitude and total professionalism. He fixed our water heater efficiently and explained everything clearly along the way.

Nate was responsive, thorough, and comprehensive, and the HVAC system maintenance pricing was better than any other competitors. Though it took a few months to get the tech out to the house, I was super impressed with their ethics and reporting. Highly recommend! I've used this company for a few projects.

I was really happy with the service from McQuilan Home Services. You always worry when a local company is bought out by a national chain that is VC backed.

The tech we had was Alex C. who came out to scope/clean our drain. He was particularly nice and patient and went the extra mile to make sure everything was in good working order. I praise him for his honesty and trustworthiness. Definitely a good representative for the company. I hope he gets the recognition he deserves. The emergeny tech, Ron, was also thorough (came the day before). So, all-in-all, a good experience. Alex really stood out.

Nick and Tony were very friendly. They did the install. They were great throughout.
I never got the ne od the gentleman who dropped of their equipment but he too was a happy friendly man.
All in all this was a swift and positive experience!

It was a mixed experience for me. The tech that sold me my new system was knowledgeable and was a big part of why I chose McQuillan.

Unfortunately, there were problems with the install and communication after the fact. The electricians decided not to place the approximately 3 ft of conduit between my panel and the box outside not the ~$20 disconnect with no discernable markings to indicate appropriateness for the install. Instead, they cut the existing conduit back to the wall and made it appear as though the proper liquidtight conduit was in place. This left a gap where rain could easily have entered the conduit and then my panel which could have cost me thousands to replace.

They also didn't have the necessary parts to finish the electrical work on the day of install and sent a completion certificate to the lender after promising to come back the next day to complete the job. I had to contact them again to have the electrician back a week later. When the electrician came back, I pointed out the issue with the conduit and he said he'd fix it. He covered it up with sealant and left without talking to me instead of doing it right. I ended up replacing the problematic wiring myself which was hardly a difficult task even with my limited experience.

Besides this, they also took my old smart thermostat without consulting me and didn't respond to questions about the install after the fact.

Considering the cost to complete the install, I expected higher-quality work. Perhaps my lense is tinted from the electrical issue, but some of the custom ducting they did is not exactly high quality either (offset and unsealed along seams) and they put in a janky hole for a filter slot with no holder and a cover that's just bent sheet metal. I can't recommend them for HVAC work at this point. I'd take back the job if I could.

The only feedback they requested was regarding one of their installers who was actually a replacement for the first guy who had to leave early. Nobody followed-up after I pointed out concerns, so I can only assume this is the norm for them since they make no other effort to check in on things after they get paid.

Update: They asked me to call them in response to this review but never called me back. I also found that the condensate tube was pinched completely closed which was a minor but annoying issue on top of everything else.

Another update: The system keeps shutting down on nearly a daily basis. They won't come out to look at it for a month. It's November, so it may not be able to keep up by the time they visit.

Our technician Ron was great. He explained our issue and presented us with an estimate. The pricing was extremely high and uncompetitive. Even the minor repair done to tie us over was almost $600!

I had multiple bids for furnace replacements due to a failing heat exchanger. McQuillan won the bid not just for cost, but their maintenance contracts and skill of the industry. The sales experience was much easier than most HVAC companies around and my sales consultant Alex was very helpful assisting us with only what we needed. Install day came a couple days after accepting the bid. McQuillan's skilled technicians took care into their instal and answered every question I had with precision. By far, the best experience I have had with a home solutions company. My family looks forward to the investment we have invested with McQuillan Home Services.

We had two projects completed recently and will be sure to call McQuillan again when our need for their services arises.
First we had a furnace replaced. The work was professionally done. The crew was all hands on deck and diligent in completing the job in a timely manner. It looks and works great.
Next we replaced an old laundry tub and the technician who arrived was able to diagnose the fix and complete the project same day.
In both cases, the old units were completely removed, saving me a lot of misery trying to arrange that part.
I also enjoyed the friendly and knowledgeable telephone contact when first setting up both appointments.

They worked tirelessly to make sure that our building get heat before winter.
I strongly recommend Area Mechanical as your HVAC company.

Never used the service but their drivers are crazy. One of the drivers was going really fast and cutting people off trying to get around people, making others slam on their brakes. Tried to call to report the driver but was forwarded to voicemail. Would never use this service if that's how their people are. Would give zero stars if that was an option.

This company has an absolute psychopath working for them. The guy was honking, speeding, and cussing at families at a local charity holiday light snow while he was driving his work truck, plate was BEX-168. This is ridiculous behavior, and you should really take a good look at your personnel, if this is the kind of people you have representing your business in public.

Knowledgeable and responsive company that services all your HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, Refrigeration, and associated insulation needs. This is a minority owned union company that comes highly recommended!
