10/10 recommend. Got quote from Bonfe for new furnace, Hinding came in same morning (Saturday) and gave me a quote for 1/2 price. Very knowledgeable too - turns out my old house would have not done well with the high efficiency Bonfe recommended.
Even more - I had a leaking radiator two weeks after the new furnace install - Hinding came out to tighten it within minutes of calling (!) at NO Charge (!!)

Hinding Company replaced our furnace and air conditioner. They were professional, punctual, courteous and pleasant. Their quality of workmanship was outstanding. They took the time to explain what they were doing and answered all of our questions. We recommend them enthusiastically and without hesitation.

Have called these guys for more than 15 years; they are knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. They have given troubleshooting advice by phone, and if my attempts fail to fix the issue they are responsive and prompt with appointments. Just had a furnace & AC replaced when they thoroughly explained the issues and cost. I trust their advice, and am really happy with their work. Our AC unit needed to be replaced and so did our neighbor's. When I called Hinding and talked with Tom about getting a quote for the two units, he came out within 30 minutes to our houses and gave us a quote for both units at a nice discount. The next day, I called back to schedule the work and two days later, my neighbor and I had new ACs installed.

Tom was prompt and professional from start to finish. I would highly recommend Hinding for any heating or cooling need.

Seven years ago, after moving to the neighborhood, I needed both my furnace and AC replaced. Hinding came to the house quickly and was able to install both for less than other companies quoted. I have not had any issues until this summer. Tom came out the next day (I had called later in the evening and he still answered the phone) and diagnosed the problem immediately and installed a new blower motor the next morning. He and his crew are knowledgeable and professional. I will definitely call Hinding for any future needs.

From our first contact to the time our furnace problem was diagnosed and a plan created, was just over one hour. I had a larger, more well-known service look at my furnace. Very nice people, they installed 3 new parts, but they couldn’t seem to fix the problem.
When I received the well known company’s estimate to replace my furnace, I reached out to Tom.
Tom was able to replace my furnace for about half of what the larger company was going to charge.
Tom explained everything clearly, didn’t try to sell me things I didn’t need. Communication was great, friendly folks, fast service, and a local guy. I would recommend this company to friends, family, or anyone looking for heating and AC service.

Highest recommendation. We are expecting our first child in a few months and had AC/Furnace issues. Tom got back to us right away, came by during his off-hours to troubleshoot and took care of us.

He only recommended what he would do himself, only uses quality products (Carrier, etc) and doesn’t charge an arm & a leg to do it. Now we’re set up, with improved function & better air quality for the long haul with our new family.

5/8/25 - we had an issue with our AC. Called Tom and he came out the next day. No charge for this service call as there was an issue with the new furnace that was covered under warranty. Tom checked out the AC unit as well to make sure we were ready for summer. Other companies I've used in the past would have charged us for anything beyond the warranty items, not Tom. He recognizes the importance of excellent customer service.

Coldest day of the 24-25 MN winter happened on MLK day. Same day our 23 year old furnace decided to stop working. Called the company that installed the furnace first - they didn’t have time for us unless we wanted to wait until after hours emergency at $250 per hour. Called Tom next and he said he could come later in the day. Tom stopped by, gave us a quote for a new furnace and came back the next day to do the install. I figured we would be without heat for multiple days - so grateful for Tom and his efforts to get us back up and running so quickly. Nice guy, quality work. Can’t recommend him enough.

I was having some work done on my property and step one was to remove the radiators. If Hinding hadn't come to my rescue I would have been in big trouble with the project! Hinding has serviced our home’s heating system since 1993. We recently purchased another old home in St. Paul and called Hinding to evaluate the heating and air systems. I trust them to give me sound advice even when the news is ‘replace the system”. They always respond to my calls in a prompt manor. I value their expertise.

I wish there was 6 stars! These guys have helped me out over the years. Forced air and hydronic heat. They are well versed in both. You can't go wrong with a local St Paul company that has been around for almost 100 years!

We used Hinding as our boiler was making noise. Ryan was so professional, on time, and good to our dogs. We have a wacky system throughout the house with all the radiators and he and Tim solved the mystery in our 1950’s house and were so responsive. Can’t recommend them enough! They also bleed radiators and do a fall check up before the season! Don’t ever hesitate to use them:)

We had our 100+ year old boiler replaced by Hinding and couldn't be happier.

We first did business with them a few years ago when we needed some service on the old boiler; when others said it was too old to repair and would need to be replaced, Hinding came out and fixed it at a reasonable cost.

When we were checking into getting the new boiler, we contacted Hinding again. Tom came out and explained exactly what would be done to tie a modern boiler into our existing pipes and radiator system and gave me the estimate on the spot. As a comparison, another company that we sought an estimate from seemed very intimidated by our old piping, gave a ballpark estimate several thousand more than Hinding and in the end just never got back to me with a real estimate. Once we accepted their estimate, we scheduled the work and Hinding showed up and got everything done in a day. Very pleased with the result. They also made some recommendations for other contractors they knew to do some other services we needed and those turned out great as well. I highly recommend Hinding!
