We have used Allen outdoor for several years for both our sprinkler system and our outdoor lights at this house and our previous one. They are prompt in their service, very personable, helpful, and professional. I would recommend Allen Outdoor Solutions over and over again.

It's always difficult to communicate what you would like when picturing new landscaping solutions at your home, because you're never quite sure how it will look in reality.
But after meeting with Steve Allen at Allen Outdoor Solutions, and explaining what I wanted--more privacy, low maintenance, beautiful, year-round landscaping vs. fencing, etc. for my new home's backyard--Steve presented a plan that fixed the issues, made it "my own," and then his crew brought it to life.
I now love my backyard! It gives me joy every time I look out the windows or step out onto the patio. (And I think my neighbors are a little envious, too lol.)

Miguel and Antonio did a clean up/trim of our condo unit today and the work was absolutely beautiful. Very hard workers who left the place clean, refreshed and well maintained. Great workers!

Lengthy review, but felt it deserved it. When I first requested a quote for irrigation, I had already received two others when Steve (owner) came out to bid mine. He was a little higher, But my experience with other projects I have had done or was currently in the middle of, Is you get what you pay for. I decided, not only because of that, but because the owner himself came out (not a sales rep), that I was not going cheaper this time. Well, the workers that came out were unbelievable. Their work ethics are far beyond what I have seen in a long time. Due to some rain, they ultimately had to hand dig most of the trenches for the irrigation and yet, I did not hear any complaining or work stoppage, except of course for lunch. One guy even helped take over 20 bushes to the back when they were done.

In the meantime, while waiting on them to get started, I was also planning on having sod put down in which I got a couple of bids for that as well. In this case, Steve's company was a couple of hundred dollars less, so decided to go with them as they were already doing my irrigation and could coordinate it all. The sod crew also more than performed and also took away some rocks laying around that we going to throw away without us even asking. So, thank you Steve for the personal attention to detail, Anne your executive assistant for dealing with all my questions, and your crews for doing an outstanding job. Certainly will recommend your company to others and if I need something else that I cannot do myself, I will certainly use you again. Jack Starnes

I am very pleased with Allen Outdoor Solutions. They were super fast and efficient to replace a broken backflow preventer. They also fixed some problems with my sprinkler system. Its nice to find a company that has great customer service and knows what they are doing!

Matt, their technician was just here to winterize my system. He communicated extremely well about his arrival time. As always, exemplary service by a great company.

We were at Home Depot South County renting some equipment. Parked outside in the fire lane was a clearly marked Allen Landscaping truck. Inside were two Allen employees who were trying to rent something. They encountered some difficulty in the transaction and one of the two men ripped into the Home Depot employee using disrespectful foul language in front of my wife. The Home Depot employee was very patient and considerate during the exchange. The other Allen employee appeared embarrassed by his colleagues behavior and left the store and returned to the truck. Sometimes you learn more about someone when they’re “off camera”. In any event not a good idea to be rude and inconsiderate when you’re on the clock. This guy is damaging whatever good reputation Allen may have otherwise.

Jessie and Andres where great to work with. Listened to what the scope of your expectations were, cleaned up the entire working area and made sure as a customer you were satisfied. They both took a lot of pride in their work.

Manuel did the mid-season maintenance on our irrigation system today. He noticed some areas of our yard were turning brown, so he adjusted or replaced some sprinkler heads. He also increased the time for some zones. Due to some landscape changes, we asked Manuel if he could move one of the sprinkler heads. He quickly obliged and asked if he could do more. He also asked if we had any questions. We were very pleased with the service Manuel provided. We hope he returns to do our end of season shutdown.

Steve Allen solved a very complicated yard rain water drainage issue. He installed french drains, drainage pipes from the sump pump and gutters beneath the new asphalt driveway that he installed. Five other companies could not figure out how to solve the problem of the muddy rain water flowing onto my driveway and across my patio. The workers labored long hours digging in extreme heat and they were very polite and they answered all my questions. I would highly recommend them!

We want to give a shout out to Miguel and Antonio for doing a fantastic job with our fall clean!! Our gardens and yard look trim and ready for the winter ahead. Miguel and Antonio are the best and we hope Allen Outdoor Solutions appreciate the great workers they are with these two employees. We look forward to seeing them in the spring.

My entire lawn was in need of rehabilitation. Allen Outdoor Solutions team aerated, added compose and over seeded. The result was incredible

I would not recommend hiring Allen for your yard work. I spent over $7,000 on 12 Emerald Green Arborvitaes (6-7 ft tall) and 12 #5 Adagio Maiden Grasses. Within 30 days, several Arborvitaes were already dying and falling over, and the mulch was overtaken by weeds.

When I called to express my concerns, they sent someone named "Jimmy" to take a look. He acknowledged the issues and agreed to replace three dead shrubs—for an additional $580—per the terms of their contract. He also offered to spray Roundup for more money, since they “don’t believe” in using a weed barrier.

Now, 2.5 months later, none of the Adagio grasses have produced new shoots. I ended up hiring a reputable landscaping company to fix the mess. They noted that seven of the Arborvitaes had been planted too deeply and needed to be replanted. They also staked the shrubs to keep them upright—something Allen never did. The newly installed grasses from the new company are already showing healthy green growth.

Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, both in terms of quality and customer service.

A beautiful lawn does not happen by accident!! Once you've decided to enhance what you live with everyday we highly recommend you hire Steve Allen and his team at Allen Outdoor Solutions for their expertise.
Four years ago we decided to take the plunge - Sod & Irrigation system, in addition we have Steve's team do the necessary fertilization and aerating and overseeding in the fall. Our lawn is now the talk of the neighborhood!!
Our latest project has been to add landscaping to our front yard and backyard. We relied on Steve's team to design and build just a charming addition to our property.

The crews did an amazing job with a very difficult and tedious tree removal from my backyard. They were super friendly and worked extremely hard. I don’t know of another tree company that I would even consider. They also trimmed my other oak trees up quite nicely. 5 stars hands down !
