Sold me a 10+ year old model as "new" when it broke tech comments "hard to find parts for these old models"
Techs are friendly and do ok work, but service calls on the "new" AC unit exceeded 2500 dollars before it was finally fixed by replacing the condenser.
If you buy a new system, find out the year the equipment was manufactured before they install it, or you might get "new" (still factory sealed) equipment. -
Great company to work with. Service manager very knowledgeable and explained work to be performed in depth. Installers very efficient, friendly, and worked in a goodly manner. Furnace looks beautiful and works great! Thanks. Would recommend this company to all.

Called this morning, Tech came out at 3p. Repaired, paid and gone in under 2 hrs!!!! Contrel, you the man!!!! Best HVAC Tech ever! Highly recommend this company and ask for this Tech, he will take care of you. Very reliable, fast and honest!

Terrible customer service. Had 2 techs come out and look at my AC unit. They gave 2 different reasons for what the problem was. After the second one suggested I get a new unit due to the age of my AC unit, I agreed, but communication with Brad, the manager who would come out and provide a quote was terrible. It’s been about a month now, I still have not heard back from him, and decided to just take my business elsewhere.

Great experience with the technician. Waiting to hear back from him on the cost of the part he identified that needs replaced. Will know about the value at that point. Always a great experience with River City!

River City has always taken good care of our HVAC systems and they treat us right. I never feel like they are trying to take advantage of us. Good people!

Got up this morning to a cold house. Called River City and they had a tech out
to our house within the hour. The tech, Contrel, had us up and running again in no time. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Also appreciated senior/veteran discount. If and when we need service again will request Contrel. -
Bought new A/C unit and at 14 months (2 months out of warranty) it quit working. Service came out and did electronic leak detection. Recommended replacing coil and distributor hose. Service tech. refilled with freon costing $330 and said didn't know how long that would last and also didn't know when the installation of new parts would occur, could be a week or 2 months. Would be $125 an hour for labor and might be 4 or 5 hour job.
Got second opinion from technician from another company that did nitrogen leak detector test and bubble test. Was unable to find anything leaking. Something must have just needed tightened. Will not use company again. -
River City put in a new furnace for us. Everyone has been courtious and have gone out of their way to help us with any questions and concerns we had. The two gentlemen putting in our unit did an excellent job! Highly recommended!

They were very professional when they installed my new ac and furnace. The work was done cleanly and in a timely manner. The person from MUD even made a comment about the workmanship when they came to inspect the furnace. I would, and have, recommended them to anyone needing HVAC work.

Just called them up because I needed service. They told me they wouldnt service the house because of an 'attitude issue' from the previous year. Had no idea what they were talking about and they wouldnt give an explanation
Only thing I could think of was the guy had tried to add an extra 15 minutes on to the service and told him his time was off and showed them the cameras -
I want to recommend River City Heating and Cooling. I worked with the supervisor, John, and found him both helpful and generous. The tech Scott was knowledgeable and thorough & another tech, Contail- his courteousness- was the reason contacted the company for inspection.

Our new Trane Air Conditioner was scheduled to be installed at 8 am on a day when it was forecasted to rain in the morning. The two installers said they would do the interior installation first and the exterior afterward because the rain was due to stop. The rain not only didn’t stop, but down poured for a couple of hours. They went ahead and did the exterior installation in the rain. We are so thankful that we didn’t have to postpone the install for 3 weeks as projected if we didn’t schedule when did. Bravo!!

We had a new AC installed in the office last year and we had a wire work itself looks. I called them today to get on the schedule ad the came out within a few hours and double checked all wires to make sure he found all issues. The tech was very polite as well

I called River City Heating and Cooling to do a check-up on my furnace. The technician, Contrel, was awesome! Very professional! He did a thorough inspection of the unit. He performed everything on the maintenance checklist and took out the filter in my humidifier. My wife and I purchased our home 3 years ago and we have never replaced that filter. When the technician showed it to me, it looked like it was never replaced! Actually I didn't know there was a filter. He asked if I wanted him to replace which I replied, of course! He even ran bleach through the bottom tray and water line to kill any bacteria.
We've done business with River City in the past. We purchased a new air conditioner at our old house. We were very satisfied with the service and installation, and we got a fair price for the unit.
If you need a reliable and honest HVAC company, call River City. We have used other HVAC companies in the past and did receive the kind of service we get from River City. -
Service Manager and tech were excellent to work with. Both were professional and friendly. It took many hours to determine the problem with my air conditioner but they were very patient and thorough. I will use them again and would definitely refer them to others.

We've had River City Heating & Cooling since 2010. Many times during extreme weather we are so grateful that our system is maintained and works like a charm. Any service is promptly taken care of. Today Bob was a delight to have in our home making sure everything was in good order.

We have been using river city for over 15 years. Never had a problem. Always get some of the same guys which is nice. That means they treat their employees pretty well. And that shows when the guys come to the house!

I've been a customer of River City since 2008, including everything from basic maintenance to projects involving some major expenses (heat pump, major ductwork, etc.). I’ve stayed with them all these years and I’ve referred people to them because I've been very happy with their services – until now.
They installed a new thermostat/humidistat this past October. With the subsequent onset of cold weather, the air became very uncomfortably dry. I spent a couple of weeks trying various humidistat settings, but the humidity in the house was always 21%-28% no matter how high or low I set it. I called River City about this and was told that I had to schedule a service call as they wouldn’t address this over the phone. The technician changed the humidifier filter (which he said wouldn’t help) and he politely told me that the furnace needs to run all the time for the humidity to change. That was that. I tried to explain that this had never been an issue in the 24 years that I’ve been in this house, but he kept repeating the same message. So in the end I was charged (and paid) $111.50 for a $20 filter and to be told that the only way to raise the humidity is to crank up the temperature so the furnace will run all the time – which sounds like bad advice that could have been delivered for free over the phone. I’m sad to say that it might be time to look around for a new HVAC company.
This service call deserves 1 star, but I’m giving them 2 in honor of their former great service.
