I had Daniel come out and remove a dead tree. Not only did he do a very good job, he was punctual and charged a fair price. I'll certainly consider him for future landscaping services.

I own a business in Stead near the airport. A semitruck backed into my huge cottonwood tree and broke a large branch. I called The Four Winds and Daniel answer right away, no answering machine like every other place I called! I called before noon and Daniel was there a little after 2:00 the same day! They removed the damaged limb and even cleaned up other items that had nothing to do with the job they were hired for! I highly recommend to anyone who needs tree or landscaping services they call Daniel at The Four Winds.

If you need tree service for a fair price, this is the company you will be very happy with. We have 2 huge willow trees, the top of one had major dead limbs, the other, a lot of dead limbs and branches within. Daniel and his crew went above and beyond eliminating the dead branches and left our yard completely clean of debris. You won’t be sorry! Thank you Daniel!

Called Daniel for some tree pruning and advice with some overgrown trees. He was able to come out the day after I called, and scheduled service immediately after a free estimate. He was quick, efficient, and did good work. We will absolutely use him again.

Daniel and his crew were early and responsive. Especially considering how busy they were with the winter storms that downed many trees. Thankfully my tree was only on top of my neighbor’s shed and didn’t hit either my house or theirs. I felt like a priority to them. They were friendly and efficient. They finished faster than I thought they would. I would definitely hire them again.

These guys were professional, punctual, and efficient! They came in to remove two of our dying trees and had it all cut, cleaned up, and removed in an hour! They did an incredible job and had a great energy. I will 100% be contacting them again in the future if I need any more tree removals or landscaping.

I had a large, dead tree standing in my yard that was surrounded by 3 electrical lines and had overhanging branches above my house. Daniel came out and gave a quick estimate and he and his team came out later that week to remove it. They were quick, efficient and professional at very reasonable cost. Highly recommended for any tree removal or pruning needs. Will definitely utilize them in the future for any tree removal/pruning in the future. Thank you!

They installed a French drain, leveled my yard, and installed artificial grass. This was my first project as a home owner so definitely a learning experience for me. Daniel was always available to communicate, he always made things right if I wasn’t happy. I’m happy with the end result! Thanks Daniel and team!!

We were shopping for a greenhouse. We had been to the website for the greenhouse they had, watched all of the videos, and we knew what size and which options we wanted. Only "Paul" could answer our questions for us and he was out collecting the black lab dog that keeps running away. (Your dog keeps running away? Repeatedly? Not exactly an example of responsible pet ownership, yet I digress). Paul came back with said dog and we sat down with him at his station. He proceeded to tell us what we needed and not hear what we wanted. He could not find the prices of any of the options that existed that we wanted. He had a woman make up a quote for us, yet the quote did not reflect what we had asked for as far as options were concerned. We said wanted to set it up ourselves (might take 2 people about 3 hours), yet a $500 set up and delivery was added for a product manufactured 10 miles from the store and our house. He told us "you don't need those options" and "you don't need a greenhouse that big." He did not make eye contact with me once and would only answer questions from my husband; I did not exist to him. The female workers were extremely subservient to this man; it was very awkward and a tad creepy. We will never go back there for any reason.

Got a yard of soil today. The girls up at the front count were nice. But when I got my soil the loader operator was very rude. I don't think it was a full yard. I only got 6 wheel bail loads.
I'm driving to truckee for full circle product's. Their so much nicer. Rail city....bad.

Decent garden store and selection. Stihl website says that they sell gas powered garden tools… They don’t, they only sell battery powered silliness like it’s a political statement! Why even carry the brand?…

Nobody knows where all those lithium batteries are gonna end up.

Yard work is so much better when you annoy your neighbors a little with 2 strokes noise makers…

My parents have been going here since they moved to Reno in 1996 and RC Garden Center just opened that year. They always have been treated respectfully and in a friendly manner as I have been, so I have no idea what the other complaints on bsd service have been about. I help my dad get the supplies such as algae inhibitor, floaters and koi here. So its been 25 years of great service. We also used to get some koi from this big reptile store too before they closed, but most of our koi comes from RC.

Its a very extensive place with a huge variety of plants, nice garden sculptures and items, stone fountains. Etc. Now they even have a cute little snack and drink bar set up. Because you can spend a very long time looking at so many things! There's a very friendly marmalade cat that wanders around and a huuuuuuuuuuuge koi that must have been there since the place opened!

My father and I won't go anywhere else. The ponds they have there are clean and their fish stock healthy. Thank you for 25 years of great service. I have to drop by to buy more koi soon

This Garden shop is the go to leader in the area whether it is their awesome selection of plants & flowers & trees well they have them all. They have a great selection of one off and nice farm/yard art. Paul the owner is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to diagnosing & treating any garden pest or weed or anything else you might need help with. Rail City Garden is the place to shop for anything green or just plain & simple for your yard or garden needs.

I like Rail City because they have a variety of plants, trees, shrubs and garden decorations. The prices are good and the employees are helpful. If you want or have a pond they can set you up with that as well. The hanging baskets are fabulous.

This place is amazing, it's nothing like any other nursery. It's so unique, special, great for kids & adults. They have so much variety of so many things. It's so magical. It's a very personal experience. It's feels like home. Like an old country store. Family oriented.

Fun and inviting atmosphere! There was even a food truck with coffee and drinks when we went this weekend. Casey in the pond section went above and beyond with his helpful friendly attitude while giving us a quote for a pond liner and showing us around and all of the materials we would need. We will be back!

Have been shopping here for years, always support local before big box stores. With that being said, I won’t be spoke to with disrespect and I will not be required to wear a mask. I can go to Lowe’s and/ or Home Depot without being hassled. Local businesses should be more conscious of their customers than the big box stores, after all the box store is less money.

I have been coming to Rail City for several years. The people there are so helpful and have so much more knowledge than other "big box" garden centers. They also give a lot to the community with their seminars and classes. I have found the entire staff to be friendly and caring and I am more than surprised at some of the other comments and reviews of their businesses. They have almost built a nice following of people who regularly attend and visit the place. Some of the products may seem a bit more expensive than the big name stores, but the fact is that those same stores don't sell the organic and natural solutions offered at Rail City. I have compared some of the same products that they do have and found the prices the same in almost every instance. Listen, if you want to buy corporate conglomerate products (which aren't necessarily bad) then go there, or if you want to buy from people who live here and are more of like a boutique, then go to Rail City. It's that simple.

My wife and I had a similar experience to others here. We requested an estimate for a pond at $65. After the owner came out and took measurements we didn't hear back for weeks. We ended up having to go in multiple times and many weeks later the owner hand wrote a quote on a piece of paper with a total cost only. We requested an itemized quote to determine what changes we might want and the owner refused to give one and said that's just what the job cost. Take it or leave it. Needless to say we stopped shopping there for many years.

Fast forward to this spring. My wife and I purchase chickens for the first time. We ended up purchasing them there because they were the only ones that guaranteed them at over double the cost as everywhere else in town. We picked some speckled Sussex. As they grew they turned out not to be Sussex at all and we are still unsure what breed they are. We are now attached but they were not as advertised. It will be the last purchase we make from them.
