Excellent experience working with Zack (Ekar Home Improvements )and their team they were punctual on target for cost and advise us in many scenario in the process of sourcing the best fixtures for the bathroom. A complete demo remodel of a full bath. The project took about two weeks, they were clean with demo converted the bath to a shower it was a pleasure working with zack’s team. Any question or concern I had was answered in a timely manner.

I honestly can't say enough positive words about Zack and his crew!! I'm a hard customer to please and I am beyond thrilled. They were efficient, respectful of my home, meticulous, professional and perfectionists. I had wallpaper removed, honey oak cabinets painted, walls and ceilings painted and the price was OUTSTANDING! I also had an old 90s desk that they took out and will have cabinets installed when they come in. I CANNOT wait! Zack runs an honest business which is so refreshing. I've also already referred him to my mother and sister. Thanks so much😊

We had a great experience working with “Ekar Home Improvement” on our basement bedroom. The sheetrock work was done cleanly and professionally, with smooth finishes and great attention to detail. The painting came out flawless, and the molding really tied the whole room together and elevated the final look.
They were reliable, punctual, and communicated clearly throughout the project. The work was completed on schedule, and the space was left clean and organized at the end of each day. I’m a contractor myself based out of the Old Bridge area, and I brought in Ekar Home Improvement to retile the entire first floor of my home with porcelain wood-look tiles. They removed all the existing engineered wood and tile, and they met all the standards I was looking for — everything was done up to code 💪. Every day they cleaned up after themselves, and they even put up plastic barriers to keep dust from spreading, which was super important since I have kids 👶🧼.

They installed the tiles in a random staggered design that I really liked — it gives the whole floor a natural and seamless look 👌. Every step of the job was done perfectly. They put cement under the Hardie board, screwed it down using the correct fastening pattern per code, and applied LFT mortar on top. They only used top-tier products, recommended high-quality grout, and gave me a 50+ year system with an excellent warranty. Other contractors might cut corners with cheap materials that fail after a few years — Ekar doesn’t play that game 🔧✅.

They also installed 5-inch base trim, fully painted it, and made sure every corner was airtight and seamless. Their finishing work is clean, tight, and professional. As someone with construction experience, I could tell they know exactly what they’re doing.

I couldn’t be happier with the work Ekar Painting did on my kitchen cabinets. They completely transformed the space. They applied two coats of primer and two coats of paint, sanding meticulously between each layer for a perfectly smooth, professional finish.

They also had to fix a botched job from a previous contractor, and the difference is night and day — you’d never know there had been issues before.

The entire project took about five days, and their dedication was unbelievable. Mano even worked through Thanksgiving (voluntarily!) just to make sure everything was completed and done right.

Lots of steps to get to removal and replacement of the broken heating element in our dryer. Technician knew exactly what he was doing. Worked quickly, showed me the broken part. Made new installation and closed up the work with ease. Everything works perfectly now. 45 minutes from start to finish. Amazing job…

Ten 31 Services LLC never showed for my July 9, 2025 appointment. No contact, did not answer phone calls or messages. My daughter ended up repairing for me. They will remain on my DO NOT send list.

We had a great experience with Choice Home Warranty on our recent claim. The technician they sent to fix our HVAC was very knowledgeable and patient. He answered our questions and fixed the problem effectively. He was very courteous as well. Overall great experience.

Your automated system made me pay my service fee when I scheduled my appointment. But when the service company arrived they asked for the service fee??? What sense does this make? You made this a very uncomfortable transaction!!! I deserve to be informed before the service technician gets to my home about any financial matters involving me possibly paying twice!

My tech was great and I was surprised I was scheduled within 2 days after I submitted the work order. The issue is that my stove and oven were working fine that day. Because the oven and stove choose when to stop working, nothing can be done which is a shame. I guess it’ll have to break down completely before my home warranty chooses to do anything about it.

My ice maker and heater stopped working within a day of each other. Response time was pretty good on both (5 days to get a contractor out for ice maker, 2 days for heater). Both identified issues immediately and replaced with no extra cost above the service fee. Overall good experience so far. Unfortunately the heater went out a few days later, so we’ll see how they act with additional work needed.

I already purchased my policy but I got a call from a gentleman to finalize my policy. But he was pushing something that I couldn't afford at the moment so hw kept on being pushy. He asked me again why I didn't want what he was pushing at this point I wanted to cancel this altogether then he said goodbye but I don't want to cancel how can you help me getting coverage?

Reported a water leak in my freezer and while they were very helpful, they were not able to schedule an appmt for a week out. Due to the fact that I had water leaking everywhere, I reached out to the company Choice scheduled me with and they were able to send someone over the next day! Ice maker water line froze up. Great company..."Best Service Appliance Company" and Kevin the technician was able to get it fixed!

This company is an absolute SCAM. The sales manager offers you everything in case something goes wrong but it is an absolute nightmare to deal with their claims department. My stovetop goes out and i file a claim and the person came in 4 days later determined that this cannot be repaired and that it has to be repaired. I got a message from choice offering me Lowe's credit of $333 when i requested a contact i was told that someone is available after a week and in the meantime my gas was burning fast if i have to cook ANYTHING. Finally got a call from a devious claims manager who put me on hold for 10 mins and then telling me that the best they can do is $594 while the replacement was costing $2,500+. She was rude and unreasonable. Definitely not renewing the policy.

We had an issue with our A/C. Made a claim. And had to call & put off the appointment for a week. We had a Yellow Jacket nest in my mobile Home! They understood bc one of the technicians was allergic to wasps! We had Cool Storm A/C& heating come out & they were very nice. Gave us the old broken parts. I like that! After sering the new part go in& then seeing the old part, wow!
I am very Thankful that they were able to work around our infestation of wasp.

If I could give this company zero stars I would. The pump on my Miele dishwasher broke. I reported this to Choice on August 26, 2025. The next day they sent me an email saying they were looking for a technician and would email me the name of the company and a date they would be out to perform the service.
They never could find someone to fix this dishwasher. On September 4 I contacted the company that i purchased the dishwasher from in 2018. They sent me an estimate to fix it for 975.94. I forwarded that estimate to Choice. That same day I got an email back saying "Great News we are replacing your system"
"Instead of providing a direct replacement we are offering funds in the form of a Lowe's eGift Card". No mention of how much that gift card was worth. I called to find out the amount the answer $275.00. Lowes does not sell any dishwasher for that price.
They don't sell Miele at all. Today that dishwasher is over 2000.00 and can only be purchased at an authorized appliance store. I called back customer service and they told me if I wasn't satisfied with the offer that I would be assigned a case manager.
The case manager was useless she did nothing to help me get the cost of repair. I told her that I wanted a check not a Lowe's e Card. Over a month later I got a check for 272.00 to cover the cost of my 975.94 repair. My warranty is up October 29th. During that time I reported the breakdown and up until today all I got were salespeople calling me to renew my policy. They were even offering me two months free. If you are smart don't deal with this company. I am reporting this to the Better Business Bureau and the New Jersey Consumer Protection Bureau.

Once CHW assigned a contractor, they arrive promptly. Contractor was polite, professional, and respectful of my property. Examined the dishwasher, checked the spec and sent the info to CHW via email. I had a decision in less than 15 minutes. I would award 5 star if not for the low replacement amount they gave me. After I went online I did fine dishwashers with $50 of the amount. However, I'm not a plumber and if you factor installation cost (in this case around $185), it's costing me around $250 to be made whole in regards to aan installed, functional dishwasher. Just saying 😌
