It’s hard to find a contractor that provides the same level of attention and detail to contracts, both large and small, like Dave and Modern Home Improvements.

After buying and renovating the interior of our home, we still had some touch up work needing to be done and we are so thankful (and happy) Dave was available. The painting, caulking and other touch up work was top notch. Additionally, all the advice and guidance he spoke to us about regarding anything home-related was great. Our only regret was not finding him to do our initial interior reno!

We hired Modern Home Improvements to fix problems we discovered in the home we purchased that had been flipped by another contractor. We found David to be refreshingly upfront - other contractors had recommended making certain changes and improvements and David helped us to determine what was truly necessary, understanding that we were on a tight budget. David did renovations to improve my kitchen layout/cabinets/backsplash, electrical work, painting, plumbing, and a number of other jobs. We are really happy with the end results of everything. The one downside was that the work took longer than expected, however this is because I kept adding things to the work order and because David and his team are perfectionists and make sure to take the time to do the job right, rather than rushing through it. David and his team also encountered work that was done poorly by the previous contractors and went above and beyond to fix it - including bad electrical wiring. We had no idea that this problem even existed so we really appreciated that David told us about it and took the time to fix it. At one point, David was not satisfied with the way a paint job came out and took an extra day to redo it himself, even though I hadn't noticed anything wrong with it! We really appreciated the attention to detail. It's also rare to find a contractor that you can trust to leave alone in your home (with pets too). Modern Home Improvements is also really easy to communicate with about pricing and availability, something that is rare for these types of companies these days. We will definitely be repeat customers.

We hired Dave and Modern Home to repair our family room which was severely damaged due to a water leak. The quality of his work combined with the reliability of his schedule makes it very easy to highly recommend Dave and Modern. I'm not looking for home repair issues in the future but if they occur Modern Home will be first on my list to handle them. Last but not least Dave is a pleasure to speak with, he is the type of person you feel comfortable leaving in your home alone working, just a nice person.

Modern Home Improvements did a tremendous job remodeling our bathroom. Throughout the process, David was very communicative and reliable which we greatly appreciated. He is extremely knowledgable in this field and it shows in his work. He has great attention to detail and is focused on taking time to do things the right way. It was a pleasure working with David, he is very profressional and personable. We are very pleased with the work carried out and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a contractor in the local area. Despite a few glitches, David took beyond extremely amazing care of this project. We just moved into Madison and we needed a door, and the door is beyond perfect. It is by far the best door in the house! We would definitely call him in again and recommend him to people in the area.

David of Modern Home improvements is a skilled contractor who provides great quality of work. He is thoroughly knowledged and is detail oriented. We enjoyed our working relationship through the renovation as he was amiable, and fun to speak to. Once we understood the rhythm of working we had transparent communications with each other which helped through the reno process.
David is strong, friendly and skillful and is a one man team completeing the project all by himself for the most part. He showed great precise skill at cutting a unique solid wood custom door to fit our pocket door. He is detail oriented and clean at his work.
The project was estimated for 4 weeks to complete initially but since we added additional changes, the estimate was rightly updated to another 4 weeks. But the project in total took longer. It would have been nicer to have a more closer to realistic time estimate provided initially so we could have been better prepared. Luckily we did not have any delays due to materials. David was also communicative, and that helped us adapt and informed.
The communication related to contracts, change orders and payments were well executed which was very helpful and always kept things clear and unambiguous.

If you are looking for a skillful and friendly person to help you with your renovation, David is the contractor you need to talk to.
Overall I'm very happy with how our bathroom turned out and highly recommend Modern home improvements for their quality work. The pictures are proof of a great transformation!

We completely redid our bathroom which included changing the layout, a very complex redo of plumbing lines, new concrete bathroom floor and installation of everything new and shiny.
Dave was able to turn around this scary project into a wonderfully crafted beautiful looking bathroom.
He is a very super detail oriented passionate artist. The project also included demo and installation of new tiles for the passage outside the bathroom and a new sliding barn door.
Unlike other contractors, we had complete freedom in selecting the materials. Dave helped us throughout this tedious process via video calls and texts.
Dave also had brilliant ideas and always gave us varying cost effective options for even the tiniest details.
He was very transparent and patient with us.

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience repairing our sunroom and deck. Dave found a major mold problem and quickly helped us take care of it. He was clear and transparent every step of the way. He made sure we were aware of all of our options and his work was top class. We could not be more pleased with Uno Group. They remodeled two bathrooms in our home. The workmanship was top notch and every employee in our home was a top notch professional. They are super responsive any very easy to work with. It was literally a pleasure having them in our home and we could not be more pleased with the finished project! Joe and his team remodeled and extended my deck. We used TimberTech Azek boards and aluminum railings. Joe listened to our needs and he also made great recommendations which we went with. Joe and his workers are professional and attentive to details. They did an awesome job and we have had many compliments on our deck since from our friends. I highly recommend Uno Group.

Uno rebuilt our front porch including the foundation, wood floor, staircases and railings. They also made improvements and enhancements to the facade of the house and repainted the whole house. Their work is beautiful. The outside of a 100+ year old house looks new. Joe is very detailed oriented and professional. He was consistently on the job site overseeing the work and communicating with us. We will definitely use them again for additional projects.

Uno replaced all the wood window trims and painted the house and garage. The house looks great! They exceeded our expectations. Their work is meticulous, thorough and comprehensive. When they found problems, cracks, gaps they just fixed them. It was all part of the work. They communicated and worked with us every step of the way. I can't say enough positive things about Joe and his crew. They do excellent work and they're a pleasure to work with.

Joe and his team have done numerous jobs at my house, from painting cabinets, carpentry and molding, interior doors and redoing bathrooms. they are clean, on time, trustworthy and have done fabulous work. joe has great ideas to add to the project, he is responsive when situations arise and is always amenable to changes. The quality of his work is outstanding and his team is professional.

We did a cosmetic renovation of our kitchen. Joe was the most responsive of all the companies we contacted and he immediately suggested small tweaks that I never thought of that made such a big difference in the end product. We also changed the scope of work throughout the project and he was very flexible. We were extremely happy with everything from the communication, professionalism and the end result. I did not know until mid way through that all of the work was done by uno employees, rather than sub contractors. That meant Joe had a good relationship with them and they were 100% reliable to come on the days and time they stated they would. I am really looking forward to using this company again next year for larger projects now knowing what great work they do. I'd highly recommend this company as every person from the office workers to the people coming in our home were extremely professional and high quality.

We recently had 2 full bathroom renovations completed by Joe and his team and Uno Group. The team is very professional, do fantastic work, and worked extremely hard to get the job done on-time and on-budget. The REAL kicker here (which seems impossible to find these days), is their responsiveness. So many contractors are disorganized and disappear throughout the project - not Uno. You can have absolute confidence using them, and I look forward to having them do more work for us in the future.

Uno Group recently painted the exterior of our house and they did an amazing job. Joe (the owner) is great to work with and always available. The workers were a pleasure to have around the house. We have painted our house in the past and these guys did a much more superior job. They are meticulous and extremely neat. They even came back and cleaned our entire our property when they were finished. I highly recommend them.

The Uno team did an extensive twelve-week renovation project this summer for us. The house looks like new. They were on schedule, on budget (!), with only two minor items on the punch list at the end of the project, which were fixed in a few hours. The team showed up every day (!) on time and left the work areas clean at night.

Starting the process for a major two bedroom, one bathroom home addition and kitchen extension and renovation is a commitment. There are a lot of decisions to make. In my opinion, the biggest decision that we had to make was who our contractor would be….would he/she have the right price? Have great ideas? And most importantly, be someone that we wanted to have a whole lot of interaction with. Well, Joe checked ALL of the boxes! From the moment we met him, he was a pleasure. He talked about our blueprints as if he knew them like the back of his hand, with creative ideas already up his sleeve before we ever even hired him. His personality just clicked with ours and we knew he was the right man for the job. We made sure to lock him in right away!
Then the job started and he never failed to impress us. He and his men worked HARD! Even his subcontractors had an outstanding work ethic. They all had such respect for Joe that they never wanted to disappoint him. They showed up and worked until they reached their goal each and every day. If there was a deadline that Joe wanted them to meet they would work on Sundays, too!
We always took notice of the little things that made Joe and his team special. When we would come to check out the progress (usually with our two very young children with us) they would immediately bring any loud noises down and go out of their way to make sure that everything was safe for us. If we wanted to meet to discuss something with Joe, he always made himself available. He also made such impressive design decisions for us (as people who were clueless about a lot of options that we had related to design, we turned to his opinion on plenty of occasions). Joe’s attention to detail didn't go unnoticed. He did not accept any imperfection. He kept the jobsite tidy, and finished the job in less time than we ever thought possible.
Needless to say, we are very happy that we chose UnoGroup to make our forever home a reality. Joe will always be a special part of our family and home and we will forever recommend him to friends and family in the area.
