Bought ducting, 40 bucks. Asked if the Insulation was exposed. I have cancer and need to be careful., checked the package with Rob, looked sealed. It was exposed after all. Tried to return. Huffed fiberglass shoving back into it's "original packing", but couldn't get it in. They were aholes about it. No refund. What a "nice" bunch of folks. I expected more from from ABQ.

If you need help go to Bob Garrecht down the road they actually help you and have what you need. The employees dont even try to help you they basically point you in the direction and leave you to figure it out. They are rude and i dont see the store lasting too much longer….

Walked in to get some supplies and saw to people standing around on their phones! I Immediately walked out to save my self the hassle. Worst thing to see at a store is employs glued to their phones.
You’re better off going to Home Depot or Lowe’s -
I went into Samon's, was quickly helped, check out went smooth and out the door I went. Turns out I did not need what I bought. Returning and refund was just as smooth. Customer service was very friendly and quick. Thank you Samon's. Oh , I went to the store on Menaul.

Purchased a small window AC and was unable to install due to not being able to remove styrofoam packaging inside the unit, even after taking the thing apart. About 4 hours of frustration. Finally gave up.
Returned it today 6-22-20 and was charged a 20% fee, because product packaging is not their problem.
WILL NEVER SHOP AT SAMONS AGAIN...after supporting their business for 25 years. -
I’ve been supporting this small business for years but, no longer. Went in for a faucet, the guy says it’s a Moen display model for cheap. No box. Bought it, took it home, hooked it up, and the hose leaks. Took it back, they say it’s bought as is, but I can call and get a new one with the warranty. So the manager gets the model number for me and tells me is not a Moen, it’s a Delta. So I go to their website and it doesn’t exist. So I Search and search and find out it’s a Peerless brand. Never heard of it, but sure enough, it’s been discontinued. No parts. Never shopping with this company again if they’re going to just rip people off.

Second time I’ve been to this store and likely the last. Today I walked around for 7 minutes as a group of 4 employees stood around chatting without even acknowledging my presence. I made it pretty obvious I needed help, yet no assistance what so ever. Customers should not have to ask for help when there are 4 employees not doing anything - is that asking too much?

Take your business elsewhere. These guys treat customers like they are an inconvenience. They are rude about everything. It used to be a mom and pop store that we enjoyed going to. Now the employees are so rude I hate stepping foot in there. Hope they go out of business soon.

Generally I've had good experiences here in the past. However, the last two visits in the past month have been terrible due to an individual staff member. He was an older gentleman and was very condescending while I was asking for specific parts. He treated me as if I didn't have any knowledge. I used to like this place but will not be shopping here anymore.

The staff at Salmon’s have been great. I have made a few purchases there for a renovation project. They’ve had what I need at a fair price.
I am especially appreciative of William G. who has been exceptionally helpful, knowledgeable, and generally a pleasure to work with. -
Stopped in today for swamp cooler pads. They had a size that would work. I got the Aspen pads, I dont care for other types.
An employee met me with a smile. Right...under the mask I'm guessing was a smile. I told him I needed cooler pads and told him the sizes. I settled on a close match, couldn't find an exact size.
The fellow escorted me to their cashier and went to his area to fix my 'ticket' for the cashier.
Ticket given to cashier, I paid and was on my way.
Always nice to shop there. Always prompt courteous service. Yes I recommend this place. -
I agree, they are the best and their manager, Matthan Haley, goes a second mile. I appreciate the true customer service that comes with shopping at Samon's but especially the Menaul store, even though Montgomery is closer to me. I will go out of my way because they go out of their way. If I could give them more stars, I would.

The employees here used to be extremely rude and unhelpful, then they were good for a few years, and now it's back to super rude and incompetent, especially the cashiers. Prices are decent.

This is a great place to go for many of your hardware needs. The manager Max is knowledgeable, helpful, and pleasant to deal with. You are far more likely to get assistance, and assistance from people who know things, here than at Lowe's or Home Depot. Plus they are very good about keeping their store clean and maintaining the necessary precautions during the pandemic so it is a safer place for vulnerable people to shop.

I've been here several times and every experience has been good. About 2 years ago they sold me a new toilet, a comparable one at home depot cost $300, this one cost $70 (it works well and looks nice too). Today I went in for help with pieces to my swamp cooler, the man who helped me was helpful, polite, and there was no pressure to buy anything. As a female, I usually dread needing help in a hardware store, this place has never been condescending. I've always felt comfortable asking for help, and I will continue to shop here over other home improvement/hardware stores, as their prices are comparable or better, and the help is always better!

They sold me a defective CFGI, tried to return it as a regular outlet ($3 vs $13) and then after that got sorted out, the clerk put the defective CFGI back on the shelves. Don't risk shopping here

Called to see if they have a gas valve for a furnace. The guy Greg I spoke to stated that they do not normally carry in stock. He then proceeded to inform me that they normally order the part and it takes 1-2 days to come in. However he then mentioned they do not have the man power and they super busy and he had customers.
I'm sorry but I work also and I was unable to come down to ask about the part. Normally it is not a issue to call a place before making a trip.
This store is apparently short handed and the employees are feeling overwhelmed!!! Management needs to get a handle on this considering customers like myself shop here regularly and it's not normally for little cheap parts. Good way to lose business!!!! -
As a landlord, i have bought tons of things from Samons. Great onestop store for electrical plumbing, heating and cooling. They also do formica counter tops and kitchen cabinets at a good price. They are also the only store in town that will sell a homeowner a furnace. I can get in and out of this store in a fraction of the time it takes at a big box store. The staff has always been helpfull to me.

Went in with my boyfriend to find some plumbing supplies .. the staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. We asked questions and it seemed like we were bothering them.. they didn’t even show us where things were just pointed.. the female cashier was just as rude short and snippy.. we were not greeted when we walked in.. we definitely will not be shopping here in the future . If I could this a 0 star rating I would . Extremely unsatisfied with the customer service that was provided. If you are in happy with your job find another, clearly customer service is not the field for these employees.

This used to be one place I could go into as a female and not be uncomfortable asking questions when it came to home repair. Always gave that feel of a mom and pop shop that welcomed all. Well times have definitely changed. Went in yesterday to try to find a new wall switch for a fan and the man seemed so bothered that I was even asking. His exact words, "I'm not an electrician". Sir I don't need an electrician, I have one at home who is working on the fan as we speak, what I needed was a new switch for said fan and that seemed too much to ask for. Being a female going into home repair stores can be intimidating on its own and now to deal with men who treat you as a bother makes that experience even worse.

Dillon delivered exceptional customer service when I asked for help on some swamp cooler projects — get this guy a raise! Nothing brings me back into the store like a friendly attitude, humility, and an eagerness to help. Dillon deserves 5 stars, however the store was a little cluttered and could use some clean-up/updates, so minus 1 star. Otherwise, I’ll do my one-stop shopping at this Samon’s location — Dillon was awesome.
