Home Services reviews in Brooklyn, New York

I've been coming to this location for over 10 years, the service and the knowledge of the employees is impeccable. From the garden department, flooring, and paint department they are always helpful. I've been I there so much they make me feel so welcomed

Pretty nice store staff are aright I've had no problems with them wish they had a better plant section

No one working at ALL in Christmas tree section or nursery. People are trying to get help no one ever came in 20 minutes. Chainsaws left on ground no one is there. Husband had to carry tree himself all the way to cashiers indoors. No one working at all in nursery. So many people are angry and waiting. It's unbelievable how a business can stay alive with so many malfunctions.

Bought a small potted Christmas tree here a couple of years ago that immediately started to die even though I was taking proper care of it. On closer inspection realized this poor living tree had been SPRAY PAINTED to make it look a darker color. In reality it was a Norfolk pine painted to look like a traditional Christmas pine tree. Wow. After giving the pine tree a sponge bath it eventually survived and thrived, but talk about irresponsible business practice!

Large selection of plants and bushes. They don't take the best care of the plants, they get stuck out in the sun too long sometimes but there's so many options to choose from I can usually always find a healthy plant. Large selection of garden tools and soils, mulches, patio tiles, etc. Also much better selection than the other Brooklyn Home Depot department, especially for vegetable and herb plants, but flowers too.

as a general rule this is a pretty terrible place- disinterested staff standing around just talking or actively avoiding people but today there was actually a guy being helpful. wish i had his name for this review. anyway the place is insane, so many things I need blocked off, long lines and generally terrible staff, just one good staff member today- i was impressed by that. The garden area needs fixing though, you can't get to anything and it's about planting time. One star for everything else in the shop

This is the worst home depot I have ever been in. I have experienced it's worsening service since it opened. The parking lot is chaotic and u safe, the service is su standard and the selection is less robust than other stores. They lack the staff to manage the operation during busy times and no one seems to be incharge. I came today, Monday, to shop and the parking lot is a mess. The entrance by the garden center is closed and unstaffed, even though there are items for sale right outside the door. I am heading to Lowes and will be shopping more locally.

Home Depot has officially opened their garden center for Spring. They have a broad range of plants and flowers to start your summer garden. Currently having a sale on garden soil..4 bags for $10. Also, a sale on orchid plants-1/2 price

They do a fantastic job at every level. From a spring and fall clean up, to an upgrade, or a full garden design and installation. Beautiful work!

Season after season our window boxes are nothing short of lush, living art installations. Florence and her team are supremely talented! Best in Brooklyn.

Upon first meeting Florence and Cecilia my wife and I were swept away. I think initially it had to do with the fact that simply hearing them speak transported us to the south of France, a place where everything looks and smells wonderful. As we began to work together, we were subsequently sold on their professionalism - it's so refreshing to meet with service providers that are punctual, thoughtful and do exactly what they say they will when they say they will. We have completed one project with them so far, and have another one planned. Thank you both so much for your efforts in our garden, and we look forward to many years of collaboration!

Spectacular! Florence and Cecelia have transformed the front patio for my new shop (307 Henry St) into a lush oasis. They have such great taste, and much knowledge about what works in the brownstone environment... they gave me just what I asked for and more, just beautiful. Many Thanks! rosanne

Florence and Cecile are such a pleasure to work with. They are super responsive and professional and have great taste. They do beautiful work and take everything off your hands. You can just rely on them to get the job done. I highly recommend working with them.

Flo and Cecilia are brilliant! They transform my window boxes every season and the work is breathtaking! I've had strangers, friends and neighbors all ask me who does my gardening because it always looks so nice...i happily refer them to Flo's Gardens (and i'm a tough critic)...they are the very best...professional, creative and always very attentive to detail.

I had a very negative experience working with Florence & Cecilia at Flo's Gardens when I inquired about maintenance for my rooftop garden. I highly recommend you consider other options as they quickly became unresponsive, then rude.
Before meeting with Cecilia, I sent an email with our address and a full schematic of our property. She visited and provided an estimate for $3k annually (5 visits). When I asked some follow up questions, she was initially unresponsive, and then responded very rudely and suggested she had told me previously she would not serve my area now or in the future.
This experience was extremely frustrating as I provided our address, spent time away from work to be home to meet Cecilia, and she never mentioned that my location was an issue. If it was an issue, why schedule a visit, review the site, and write up a formal estimate?
Overall I'd caution anyone considering Flo's Gardens as they are unprofessional, rude, slow to respond, and frankly very expensive for what they offer compared to competitors in the area. -
The Flo’s Gardens team is incredibly creative, developing beautiful oases all over Brooklyn. With a deep knowledge of horticulture and the environment, they are responsible and responsive, and their pricing is very reasonable They also keep their clients forever, an excellent sign!

Thanks to these ladies, our back yard is a mini-paradise in the midst of Brooklyn. They helped us create a concept working with what was there, got the soil in top form, and chose only the most tasteful and beautiful plantings. Now in its second season, our garden is magnificent. They also do the best seasonal window boxes, and can connect clients with a stone mason, irrigation company, and arborist. They are always professional and pleasant to work with. We highly recommend them!

Flo's Gardens has a beautiful aesthetic and they are wonderful people, so easy to work with! We are incredibly happy with them. Definitely give them a call for your next project, you won't regret it.

Florence and Cecilia are the most thorough and attentive gardeners and landscape architects. They have seen our projects through each stage and detail, from window boxes in our kid's treehouse to an entire rooftop garden. F & C have a bevy of resources including carpenters, contractors, and irrigation specialists. We recommend them whole-heartedly and continue to be impressed by their kind, professional, and creative dispositions. We cannot say enough positive things.

I have owned a brownstone for 39 years. For the first 35 or so, I (happily) did all my own gardening, then got some help from a gardener friend. I've used Florence's Gardens for a few years now. Every year I'm more blown away than the previous year by the glorious garden they have fashioned for me. They are great to work with -- responsive, knowledgeable, tasteful, prompt and precise about everything they do. Whatever I suggest, they do with great aplomb. For example, a few years ago they planted a crepe myrtle in the corner. Now I have a beautiful tree with 100 blooms that span August and September to enjoy. The garden they fashioned for me brings me great joy.

What a rewarding experience. The entire team from Flo's Gardens impressed me, from the thoughtful planning discussions on the front end to the care, attention-to-detail and results of the landscaping on the back end. I'm really enjoying my Brooklyn backyard garden! I found Flo's Gardens to be responsive, patient and a joy to have as a partner.
