Good selection of plants, unfortunately everything is overpriced and the staff is horribly rude and unhelpful. I have visited this place several times and would let past rudeness slide marking it up to maybe that person was having a stressful day, however, during my most recent visit an employee went out of their way to shame my wife and I for wearing a mask while inside the building. This place is so convenient for this neighborhood, but that convenience is outweighed by their hostility.

I went here to purchase tomato plants. They had a variety to choose from, plus pots, herbs, and other house plants. I purchased four cherry tomato seedlings for $2.50, which seemed like a great deal. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Great shop, reasonably priced. The employees are very knowledgeable and more than willing to share their knowledge and recommendations without pressuring you for a sale. For someone reason everyone thinks Brooklyn should feel pretentious, exclusive and high-end. Glad this store doesn’t follow suit. It feels like a relaxed local community store and that’s what makes it great.

The best garden nursery in Brooklyn. Centrally located, wide selection of vegetable plants, flowers, and seeds. Great presentation, well organized, making it easy to shop. They have all the garden accessories you could possibly need. Staff is professional and knowledgeable and most importantly, their prices are very affordable. Will go no where else!!

I read some reviews of this place to make sure they didn't have a history of bugs or pests in their plants, and was initially a little turned off by some of the reviews.

I don't know what the fuss was about. I've been here close to a handful of times and I really like the place. They carry good products at a price that makes sense given the convenience of the location. They have some great plants, admittedly not cheap, but in mostly great care from what I've seen.

And I can tell their inventory isn't old, because they've recently sold out of my preferred potting soil and were able to let me know more was coming in the coming days.

Nice people and a lovely plant selection, but their online order system seems a bit disorganized—I placed an order for pickup a few weeks ago, never heard anything after it was confirmed, then got a call a few days ago asking if I was available to receive the delivery. I said i would pick it up, and when I went to do that today, they did not have my purchases ready to pick up, and half the items were out of stock. Until they work out their system, probably best to just keep this an in-person shopping experience.

I’ve been coming here for at least 4 years and never had a problem with the plants or the workers. Yes it may be a little pricey compared to Home Depot or Lowe’s , however you are getting better quality and well cared for plants. My daughter and I went in to purchase a plant but came out with 4 plants and a pot. Steven was extremely helpful granted it was a Saturday afternoon and busy. He was knowledgeable about the plants and I look forward to returning for my next plant.

I stopped by Natty Garden, off Washington Ave, this morning. I walked in and greeted the male clerk. As it was my first time stopping by this plant nursery, I decided to browse around for an indoor table plant. I wasn’t in this establishment for more than 5 minutes before the clerk came to look for me. As soon as he finds what aisle I am in, he seems shocked as I notice him. He says nothing but “Oh” to me. He didn’t ask if I needed any assistance, what I came in for if I were looking for a particular plant… nothing. What he did do was PROFILE me. (There were other people in this establishment as well) I continued to browse, but I decided why should I give an establishment my money when its employee was profiling me. I ended up following my instincts and leaving. I will not be returning here. There are plenty of other plant nurseries within this borough—shame on you, Natty Garden for hiring such an employee. Perhaps you should re-train him or find another solution where no other customer has to be profile. It is 2024, and we, as humans, must do better!

I’ve been shopping at Natty since it opened. Joel has always been honest very helpful with advice. This store is a neighborhood institution and clearly a labor of love. It gets very busy during prime planning season so plan to go a little early in the day.

Jodi is amazing! My beloved snake plant was sick and I didn't know what was wrong -- only that more and more leaves were dying, rapidly. Jodi let me bring my plant shortly before closing. She diagnosed it, repotted it, and patiently taught me how to propegate leaves that could be salvaged but not potted. There were three people working in the store at that time and everyone was friendly and welcoming. The selection of plants looked great. I will definitely return!

Lots of stuff but super r-e-l-a-x-e-d. On a Saturday 45 minutes to pay. Maybe my own fault. Also no advice for plants. “Go look yourself.”

I had the worst experience at Natty Garden on Washington Ave-honestly, save your money and avoid this place. The plants looked half-dead, with yellowing leaves and droopy stems, like they hadn't been watered in weeks. I asked the staff for help picking something out, and they were rude and dismissive, acting like I was bothering them. I ended up with a $30 "healthy" fern that wilted in two days-total rip-off. The shop itself is cramped and disorganized, with overpriced pots and no clear signage. They offer repotting, but it's an extra charge they don't tell you about upfront. I've seen better plant care at a big-box store. Do yourself a favor and shop somewhere else-this place is a joke

Lots of options for common plants. Came in for potting mix and orchid bark. Surprised to see all the pests preventions and will definitely come back for emergency infestations.

Knowledgeable and friendly staff with a quality selection of all types of indoor and outdoor plants, herbs, and flours. Solid selection of fertilizers and soils as well.

Stop in with a friend to check them out. I about to go back to pickup for my herbs garden. Great location but it’s difficult for parking.

Good selection year round and helpful staff! I love coming to Natty Garden and never leave empty handed. They deliver within the neighborhood for a reasonable fee which is helpful for bigger items.

First time there & the staff was friendly and helpful pamphlets. Lots of plants inside & pots. So nice to have this place near by.

I've gotten my healthiest, happiest plants for the best prices at Natty Garden. This place beats all the fancy stores hands-down. The person working there (the owner) is hard at work tending to the store, but he was very calm, patient, and helpful with me. Can't wait to go back. :)

Nurain offered INCREDIBLE service and saved my plant! She repotted and gave me sound advice. 10/10 she’s got it

Had to start from ground zero populating a new apartment with a new group of plants… Loved the diverse selection and easy access to supplies, but best of all was Jodi ! She was beyond helpful and patient; she helped me with repotting advice, making sure I understood care routines, carefully checking for diseases before sale, and even looking at photos of my apartment interior to gauge the trajectory of the sunlight and suggest the best areas to place the plants. Would recommend! Thank you Jodi !

Excellent service and expert advice on repotting my large houseplant, plus I could purchase all the supplies required at this lovely neighborhood shop! They stock a nice selection of beautiful, large pots.
