VanPutte completed a landscape project for us in our backyard and it is tremendous. The workers were curtious and cleaned up after each day. The project manager had responded to our calls several times and stopped over when ever we needed her even before the work was started. They whole project was completed on time and concerns we had were taken care of quickly. We are very happy with VanPutte and recommend them.

Always well staffed and the product is always top notch. I've purchased lots of plants, vegetables, bushes, and even a tree from them with no issues. I always start here with any lawn/garden project.

Ruined a project due to not holding an order as promised. I would recommend using Rochester Topsoil or Brongo if you need a reliable delivery.
I called in 3 weeks ago to place an order for soil. I was told by Mike Griffin that they were unable to complete the order for another 2 weeks, but to call in the week of the 23rd. I asked if I could place and schedule the order and was told no, they'd rather just complete the order and schedule delivery that week when a new batch was ready.
I called today (the first day of the week of April 23rd) and was told by Mike Griffin that they sold the soil they were holding, and I "should have bought it if you actually wanted it". Now I have 2 gardens needing 25 cubic yards of soil that will sit empty and will spend a few hundred rescheduling the contractors because Mike Griffin can't do business professionally.

We were extremely pleased with the landscaping job that Van Putte recently completed for us. From the initial hardscape and landscape designs, the initial site prep and build-out and through the completion of plantings and clean-up, the Van Putte individuals working with us were responsive and clearly committed to quality work. They provided a great addition to our property.

Van Putte is great! The staff has excellent knowledge on anything you would go to a place like this for. Excellent selection and great staff, Simply the best. But, there is always a but, they are very pricey.

It was a "Drop In" and bring your garden and/or tree problems and you could speak with a specialist. The gentleman that I spoke with didn't even have to look at the picture of my tree up close. He knew immediately what was wrong and what I must do about it. He was very knowledgeable and very kind. Everyone at Van Putte have always been helpful and kind. I've been coming here for years and I will continue to do so.

I brought in a leaf from one of my plants that had white stuff (I thought spider mites) and a staff guy helped me find the right stuff to get rid of them. I had been spraying them for over a week trying to get of them. Now that I have the right stuff, from a knowledgeable guy, my plant will be all better soon. Very friendly people work there. Thank you!

Van Putte Gardens has been a legend in our region for well over 60+ years! Back in the late-50's, my parents were friends with Bill and Grace Van Putte, and purchased all of their garden and lawn items there. We even obtained our first dog from them, and would stop by on an early weekend morning to search for night-crawlers for our fishing needs. Terrific place, as always! Bill P.

Great selection of succulents for the time of year. More expensive than other nurseries but the quality fit the price.

Update 8/24/2020 Staff were not very friendly or welcoming.

We had Van Putte install a new patio, front walk, lawn and landscaping around our new house this past summer and we could not be happier. .Tony managed the project and his attention to detail and diligence was exceptional. We had a few plants (out of 60 +) die and they came and replaced them no questions asked. Kyle, the owner, reached out to be sure we were satisfied. They visited the house several times after the project was completed to check on how everything was growing. And they just dropped off a beautiful poinsettia for the holidays !!! VP puts the word customer into customer-service. Highest recommendation ! Hire them for all your needs, you will not be dissapointed.

It was fun making the stacking pumpkins. Very helpful staff, a great day to spend an hour or so with your family or friends. Might do one of the Christmas craft

Found EXACTLY what I was looking for and got the best sale price too! I told an employee two of my Proven Winners plants were in pretty bad shape when I untrayed them at home, and they were replaced for me! Of course when you buy as many as I do, I guess a couple is nothing! I absolutely LOVE this garden store!!

We have used several landscape firms in the last 10 years. Finally found the family business we wanted. Good response for estimate and design, normal wait time for scheduling, great price and installation. Replaced a plant eaten by deer in first week. Tony and his crew were professional and friendly. He even added 2 plants at his discretion to make things look right.

I spent about $ 5,000.00 between 2018 and 2019 having landscaping done. I came to the store because a couple of the plants didn't make it through the winter. I came in with a picture of the plant and the guy at the counter took my name and said someone would call me. That was 3 weeks ago haven't heard a word. Amazing how when your spending the money you guys are right there I have a dead plant and no one responds. I also came into the store to order 85 plants of New guinea impatiens. The girl I talked to wasn't helpful. I put that flower around my tree every year. I know how many plants I need. She told me I only need 50 of the ones in the 6 pack. I went to get my flowers at Green Acres and they were very helpful even gave me a discount because of how many I bought. I will go and purchase the plant that didn't make it myself. I just wanted you to know I am very disappointed in your service. I wanted to have more Landscaping done by Van Putte after this I will take my business somewhere else.

We provided a deposit for our job the first week of August. It is now coming up on the first week of October and zero communication coming from them when the job would start. We reach out to them over and over to ask about the job. Still waiting to know when, or if, our job will ever start.

Do not recommend working with them at this point.

Great place good prices

Been to Van Putte garden many times throughout the years. Never a bad experience. Much more expensive than the orange and blue stores. Service left a lot to be desired this morning. While trying to make a return. Very disappointed. Hopefully just a bad day.
Update: Spoke to an owner who reached out to me and immediately rectified a bad situation. She asked my side and listened.

We bought a two trees today. They have a good selection of trees, along with a couple unique types of tree I haven't seen anywhere else. We purchased here today because they had the best selection of more mature trees.
Mary Lynn helped us. She seemed very knowledgeable about trees and was able to answer all our questions.
