Had a run in with one of you fertilizer guys, very rude, wouldn't recommend then

They delivered rock hard dirt. We've been working with it for three seasons and still we can't get it to hold water. It's definitely fill dirt, not good for growing anything. What a waste of $$$.

Nice neighborhood place to buy things like dirt and mulch. You can bring your own truck and or trailer to go and get the stuff or they will for a fee delivery. Nice selection of plants.

Owner very helpful. Prices are reasonable. Slightly cheaper than other larger nurseries

On Tuesday, 12/30, we had received 6-8 inches of snow as I was removing snow from my driveway, I watched a Clover Lawn plow truck come speeding down my street, a street which had not been plowed yet. As I watched this Clover Lawn plow truck barreled down the un-plowed street, the driver attempted to make a right hand turn onto another street. I watched in horror as the Clover Lawn plow truck skidded into the turn running over part of my lawn, leaving big tire ruts in what was a perfect lawn. I waited by the damaged lawn for the Clover Lawn plow driver to finish his plowing tasks, and as he headed back my way, I flagged him down, he did stop and I asked him if he knew he had damaged my lawn. He shrugged his shoulders, gunned the excelerator and drove off. I called Clover Lawn to register a complaint, I was only able to leave a voice message. Later that same day a person from Clover Lawn phoned me to let me know that one of the owners would be phoning me later that afternoon. One of the owners did call me back, as assured me he would talk with the driver, and in the spring they would repair my lawn. Only one problem, he never asked for my address. . More that the damage to my lawn, and the rudeness of the Clover Lawn plow driver, there is a real safety issue here. This Clover Lawn plow driver is speeding too fast up and down neighborhood streets, obviously not in control of the vehicle. glad I have a snow blower, wish my neighbors did, so Clover Lawn plow guys wouldn't have to speed down our street.

They simply do not plow after it snows a lot. As I write this it’s 10:30am after a storm and they have not come once. No sense in hiring a plow company to have to shovel your way out of the driveway. This has happened several times.

Most plow companies have your driveway cleared by 7am. Here it is maybe 4:00 in the afternoon.

After looking at several companies I hired Clover Lawn to remove a back yard tree. They were not the lowest quote. During the quote phase Tom Lechner stated that he NEVER had any trouble with lines and never needed to have any removed before or during the tree removal. He also said that he would not hit our new fence and that he would notify us 2 days before arriving. A three man crew including Tom Lechner then proceeded to call 30 minutes before showing up. I was shocked by the disregard that Tom showed to his other two ground workers. He proceeded to drop tree limbs way to close to them and other than hearing protection they had no other safety equipment. The entire removal process was one of sheer insanity. Tom hit the wires to the house and my neighbors wires and finally ripped one off our house. He hit the garage several times and the final blow was when a extremely large limb hit the new cedar fence necessitating that one panel be replaced. After the first day I ask Tom if I could speak to him and he said they were late and he would talk to me the next day. He never showed back up. He sent his two man crew back to do a very weak job of cleanup. I would NEVER hire this company and if you are thinking of hiring them you must have already decided to tear down your house.

I have never written an online review as I feel that they can be very detrimental to a local business if not fair or accurate, so very conscious of harming, since I own my own business as well. That being said:
I do not recommend using them - this is my 2nd and final year under contract with them.
1. I am currently snowed in my driveway, after they have plowed, for the 2nd time in 3 weeks.
2. They do not answer their phone. The snow stopped 7 hours ago so all of their clients have to be plowed already.
3. They do not return calls promptly, if at all. I have been waiting over 3 hours now.
4. I referred a friend with 3 rental properties to them, gave them addresses to get an estimate. They do not offer a referral bonus or service. Fine, bad business but their choice. They never called my friend to give pricing. Friend called them since he needed service. They never called back. He ended up signing a 1k yr. contract with another plow service. If that plow service does a good job for him, they have now gained a multi-home client for years. What kind of business blows that opportunity off?

Use at your own risk.

Doug and all his staff are awesome! They installed a major retaining wall with beautiful stone and 15 years later it looks like new! They have healthy beautiful plants and are always willing to help with ideas!

I had previously worked with Clover on a vine removal project in 2019, which went well. For Spring 2021, I hoped that they would help me with lawn care treatments. When I made contact with the individual in charge of lawn care, he let me know that they would not accept my job because it was located within the City of Rochester. He told me they were not accepting new lawn care jobs in Rochester because the city is “dangerous”, “getting more dangerous everyday”, and “because of the Mayor”. That my neighborhood is plenty safe is besides the point. Based on these comments, I believe the company practices anti-City of Rochester stereotypes grounded in racial bias. I’m glad I understand their values so that I will not make the mistake of calling them again.

On March 2 we had a major snowstorm. My wife and I needed to get to the airport by 2:30 pm. Even thought it was a very busy time for Clover, I called and asked if they could plow our driveway so we could get to he airport. Within a 1/2 hour they came and we had no problem getting to the airport. Thanks Clover your quick response.

They do wonderful work, made my lawn look brand new. 10/10 would recommend again.

(Note: They will not actually plant clovers in your lawn, do not be misled. They will probably use grass.)

One of your employees let his two dogs off leash at Ellison park and they charged at a woman and her dog. He said “don’t worry they’re friendly” and she explained her dog is not. He proceeded to yell at her as if she was in the wrong when there are leash laws. I will never support this place and make sure that no one else does.

Keep your dogs on leash.

Buyer beware. They prey on older people and others. Charge 10x and force you to pay or threaten a lien on your property. Even if no contract. Stay away! These guys are crooks!!

We purchased four yards of black diamond mulch. Within one week after rain it faded to gray. We could see the black dye on the driveway. Our neighbors had gotten their black mulch from someplace else and theirs was still black. We went to Clover and showed them a sample of the mulch that was still in the pile (black) and the faded mulch. They were rude and nasty. They said "everyone gets their mulch from the same place" (apparently not so since our neighbors mulch is fine). They offered us nothing and were just totally horrible to my husband. We had been going there for years (and back when it was DeVisser's) We will never go there again. So disappointed. This is my first review on Google. Had to write it.

Great plant selection, friendly and knowledgeable staff. The fact that store is home to an awesome cat and the cutest Bernese puppy makes every shopping trip there pure delight!

We thought Clover was a reputable, family owned business, with which we were looking forward to doing business. Unfortunately, what we experienced was complete disregard and indifference for their customers. We hired Clover to remove and trim trees on our property. After we discovered that damage was done to our pavers, we alerted Tom at Clover and we were told repairs would be completed for us by Memorial Day weekend. Tom never showed. We made numerous texts and phones calls to Tom in an effort to resolve this matter. Never in our history of dealing with service providers in Monroe County have we ever been flatly ignored in trying to address a customer concern. We ended up paying someone else to fix the pavers and deducted it from our bill. We never received any courtesy for our experience or apology.

I worked with Pat on a plan to develop my lawn short and long.term. In a short time we agreed on an approach to meet those expectationd. Pat put a crew in place. The lead, like Pat was very professional and quickly deployed the plan Pat put in place. It was a pleasure working with Pat as I wanted something short and long term to count on and he did just that. I am very happy with this approach.

This delightful garden center is my go-to for plants, fertilizer, and expert information about my gardening problems. The folks here are both pleasant and knowledgeable, a fine combination of attributes to help anybody seeking assistance in the mysteries of the earth! I highly recommend them to you. And... don't forget Gentle's Farm Market! The Clover Lawn brothers took over the market, assuring a plentiful supply of fresh veggies (and more!) through the season!
