Very pleased with the quality of work provide by Marbel Landscaping Rochester, NY! They installed a new patio and upgraded our irrigation system, which has made maintaining the garden so much easier.

Had a hinky feeling about this company, considering all the "ask your sister" responses to critiques, but they were one of the few companies to return my call and I had a tight turnaround. They gave me a pretty inexpensive quote, so I decided to book them. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Here is the sequence of events:
1. I hired the company
2. I didn't hear again for a few days, so I reached out about getting a time frame
3. Heard back with something like soon
4. Reached out AGAIN, explained I had a tight turnaround (the city was going to fine me because I'd neglected my lawn); and was told it would be the following week. Fine.
5. Guy comes out and does a mediocre job, but again - it had been a while since I did anything to my lawn, so... Fine.
6. I find out that Marbel had subbed out the job to another landscaper because the other landscaper THREATENED TO PUT A LIEN ON MY HOUSE.
7. Call Ritesh at Marbel to explain the situation, and he hems and haws about paying this other guy, then I say "if this guy puts a lien on my house, I will sue you", and finally he says he'll pay the other guy.
8. I remind him that it's been 2 weeks since the guy came out the first time, and the contract was for every two weeks. He says someone will come.
9. A week goes by, still nobody has come to mow my lawn, so I text him tell him never mind and send me a refund. (This was on 6/24/25.)
10. He responds the next day saying he'll find someone to come do my lawn, and I tell him no. Just give me my money back.
11. Then he asks for my venmo. I tell him I don't have venmo, just refund the the credit card I used or send me a check.
12. He tells me it will have to be a check, then asks me for my address. HOW DOES HE NOT HAVE MY ADDRESS? I HIRED HIM TO MOW MY LAWN AT MY HOUSE!
13. A week has gone by and nothing has come in the mail.

Trust me: don't hire this company.

Edit 8/9/25:
Finally got my refund and was told they fired the person who messed up with me. The guy offered to refund me everything I'd paid, not just the part I was owed, if I took down this review, which feels hinky again. I won't hire them again, but maybe you'll have better luck.

I hired DRDS Landscaping to replace my entire yard. They were helpful, communicated regularly, and very professional. They did a great job removing everything necessary and leveling the ground, along with other miscellaneous work. The installation was excellent and the crews worked hard. Lots of attention to detail which I appreciated. It's been a couple of weeks now, and the sod appears to be rooting well. It's green and beautiful, with neighbors commenting on how great the yard looks. Hopefully, with usual care and maintenance, it will stay this way for years to come. I can definitely recommend Them to anyone you ready to hire.
