He was very helpful and knowledgeable and nice and does decent work, but he does not follow through with his word. He put a hole in my wall that he said he would come back and fix when I move. When asked to fix the hole because I was moving he told me "Good luck with that" and all of a sudden didn't recall that he said that and was going to charge me a service fee. I ended up finding a friend to assist me. On top of that he sent multiple text messages to write a review for weeks to the point of harassment, so here is your review. Although the work was ok, my kids and I found him to be a little uncomfortable in our home and won't be having him back.

I found Scottie by Googling "plumber handyman". I called him, and he agreed to meet my husband and me after work to determine if he could get an old stove out of the basement for us. He was true to his word and worked very hard to help us. His price was very reasonable, and we wouldn't hesitate to hire him again!

I would hire this man again in a heartbeat. Excellent service! I needed help moving furniture to a new location - in bad weather no less. He carefully wrapped the pieces and loaded them on my pick up. He was very attentive to detail so that none of the wood furniture was damaged and even managed to fit everything in one load! For the past year I have come to find the dependability and high quality service from Scottie-O-tool indispensable. He trouble shoots and offers advice to prevent further issues down the road. His friendly demeanor and courteous, fair service is something we don't see much these days. This is the type of service we should all expect and receive. I am a single mom of five and when I have a problem with my home, appliances or lawn care equipment, Scottie goes out of his way to make sure I get the best price for not only his service but for parts and materials as well. He is a life saver.

Today, December 19th 2016 I found need to add to my review. After having Scottie on call for a few more years now I am compelled to tell my fellow women out there who may not have access to handy fellas at their disposal regularly that this is THEE man to call. I have had several emergency issues come up in my home that no service person over the phone could even begin to tell me if it were plumbing or electric related or something else and that I would be charged their fee plus and if it was not something related to their speciality field I would need to call in yet another and hope they can figure it out. The first person who comes to mind of course was Scottie. His reputation with me and what I have seen him do with almost any repair job I have thrown at him has astounded me. From air conditioners, to lawn tractors; electrical to plumbing and now what I watched him do and figure out with the electrical component of my well when I woke one morning of this first below freezing winter day to no water. I didn't know if it was frozen pipes, if my well ran dry or froze or if it was something that was going to cost me as much as my house and leave my children and I in unliveable conditions or homeless this holiday season. In minutes Scottie having never seen a well pump switch attached to a complex water softener system figured out the problem and had me with running water that day while I awaited my Well specialist to get further parts needed for the main cause of the switch blowing. As usual Scottie saved the day. From years of experience with him in my home my children know his face and I felt completely at ease running to the store to get the part he needed while my elder child was there watching my younger children. He welcomes questions and is so patient while showing you preventative maintenance methods and self repairs to prevent having to call him for the same thing in the future. His disposition is always friendly and he knows when he cannot do something and has a great network of other good, honest small business owners to call who he knows will get the job done at a fraction of the cost of the big name companies and twice the skills. I cannot speak any higher accolades of this man as the guy to call when in doubt. He is the definition of the jack of all trades renaissance man and if he could don a cape he has earned the name Super Scottie in my book.

Super Scottie to the rescue again. I can always count on him when there is a problem I can't fix myself. Recently he fixed my old mower and installed a faucet and also noticed the sink needed to be siliconed in better and did so. My cell phone lost his number and I was lost without the world's best handyman for a few months. Was so glad to connect again by remembering to look him up on google and the next day I had all my troubles fixed. I couldn't be a more grateful customer.

I have been using Scotty for some years now as my go to handyman. As a home owner who doesn't reside in the Rochester area, I needed someone reliable and trust worthy to do repairs on my unit and Scotty has not disappointed. I can personally attest to how hard it is to find someone reliable with whom you can handle affairs over the phone and know they are being handled correctly. Scotty was amazing. I met him last year over an estimate on a huge 3 sided porch rebuild he helped us decide what house not to buy. I Had him over today for an estimate on a bigger project and he gave me several cheaper options to changing out my door I had not considered. So i figured let me ask him about these really annoying and wasteful dripping hose faucets that home Depot told me couldn't be repaired i had to measure pipe for new attachments. That seemed a little bigger than i bargained for. Scotty stopped those leaks in several minutes each. Thank God for that and Thanks Scotty for great work.

Scottie has done numerous jobs and repairs at my home. The first job I had him do was to repair a fence that was damaged from a fallen tree. Scottie saved me time and money from having to replace the fence. Once I saw the quality of his work he has been my go to handyman. Here are some of the jobs Scottie has done for me.

Scottie came as a recommendation to me from a mutual acquaintance. When he arrived to see what I need done on my house, he was friendly, funny and very knowledgeable on how to fix just about anything. He has ways to do it efficiently and for a reasonable price.
When he arrived he said he recognized this house, he said he worked on my moms gutters. So I knew this man was in the right place, after our first meeting, he came a few weeks later to dig out a trench in my front yard to carry the rain water away from the foundation. At this time I cannot tell how well this ditch will work, but I trust Scottie to get the job done right the first time. Because I know I can call him to come back and make adjustments if necessary.
He charged me a reasonable price, which I am sure any other person would want to charge me thousands of dollars for a job that was done and could be done for a few hundred dollars.

I called Scottie to help move my mom. We only had a few large items so did not need a big box moving company. He was great! Took wonderful care of things and did the job quickly and most of all was super patient with mom, all with a sense of humor!. Thank you Scottie

Scott removed a partial board of skirting from my deck as I needed exterminators to go under deck and check foundation for cracks as mice were entering my basement.. After exterminators were done sealing up the crack they found I called Scott and he replaced the skirting he had taken out with a new board and painted it that same day to match the existing skirting. He did an excellent job and the price was right. I highly recommend him.

Today was our first experience working with Scottie and we were thoroughly satisfied with his work performance and with the professional manner in which he presented himself. I was most impressed by the fact that he was conscientious about keeping the work area clean and creative in his approach to some complex repair situations. We would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who has the need for home repair projects.

We were very satisfied with the install work that Scottie performed for us.
We found him to be a very considerate, reasonable, dependable, talented guy at what he does. If there's anything he doesn't know, or understand about a job, he searches for the answers, and the job gets done. If I have any more concerns about work I would like done around my home, I know who I am going to call....and that's Scottie O Tool (the real "handy man"). I rate him * * * * *!

I sent Scottie an email one evening asking for help putting gutter guards on my house. I turned off my phone shortly after that. The next morning Scottie had a very nice note in my email telling me he wanted to help me.
It wasn't a typical email, it was warm and mentioned that he really wanted to help because of my handicap.
When Scottie came over do the work, I realized there is nothing typical about Scottie. He was very friendly and anxious to get going. He loves what he does. He wants to help so it feels much nicer than a typical business transaction.
Scottie did a great job on the gutter guards and he gets a lot of joy making things come out perfectly.
Scottie pulled tools out of his van to do that type of work. I think his van is bottomless as he seemed to have tools for anything.
What a great worker.
This is my conclusion........get ahold of Scottie first if you have handyman needs. He is responsive, courteous and talented.
He has a nice sense of humor so he made his visit really enjoyable.
I will call him every time I need help. His rates are very fair.

My interaction with O'Tool was initially sort of confusing. Strange. After a few minutes, I realized why I had that vibe. BECAUSE HE IS A REAL, HONEST, and TRUE, GOOD HUMAN. It's very rare today.
As for the cost, quality of work, timeliness..... All I can say is excellent. I'd give him six stars.

Just call him, honestly. I spent so much time calling, questioning, searching, and Scotty is the one call I should have made first. And, I have an awesome "go to" for all my home and work offices, and I don't have to worry about a thing. Ja'del.
