Really appreciate the good Dr`s for coming out finishing my pool , I tried to cut corners and stared the install of semi inground but realized much harder then it looks on video .Just was glad they were able to come out and get my pool up quickly and done right .Thank Toni Lil and installer Eduardo and his crew.I will def rec your team ,Especially the way NJ is monopolized by just 2 installers who deal with the pool places in the Union County Area.Glad you were right across the bridge.

Hot tub pickup, transport and drop off was uneventful. All went well from NYC TO PA. Absolutely recommend them for transport.

Pool Doctor were professional, responsive and do excellent work. They understood what we wanted and exceeded our expectations. We continue to use their services for opening and closing and maintenance. We highly recommend their company and would use them again in the future.

Got a recommendation to call pool doctor and I'm glad we called. Candy was so nice and patient with us and was able to send servicemen to our house in a very short time. The men came and explained the problem and fixed the problem and now our pool is up and running. I definitely recommend them to anyone who needs servicing for their pool/filter/motor.

I strongly advise against using Pool Doctor under any circumstances—even as a last resort. This has been, without question, the most unprofessional and disappointing experience I have ever had with a pool service company.

I was charged $400 for a pool opening, during which the workers hastily dumped in pool shock, repaired a cracked pipe, and then left without offering a single explanation or summary of the work completed. Initially, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. However, several days later, my pool remained green. When I went outside to backwash, I was met with water spewing from pipes and soaking me due to improper reassembly.

Additionally, the chlorinator had been disconnected and never reattached, leaving me with missing parts and a mess to clean up. When I called the store to report the issues, I was assured someone would return to assess the situation. Mike eventually responded, only to tell me that the pool was not operational in its current condition—yet he could not clearly articulate what the specific issues were. He refused to name the workers involved and attempted to shift the blame onto us for alleged negligence.

Let me be clear: the pool was running flawlessly last summer, and we scheduled the opening in early May to avoid complications ahead of June. The blame lies solely with Pool Doctor and their failure to perform even the most basic duties of the job.

This level of incompetence and lack of accountability is unacceptable. I should have listened to my neighbor when they advised me to supervise the workers as they tend to scam people. I will never use their services again, and I would caution others to stay far away.

The Pool Doctor Tech Timothy was amazing! He fixed my pool heater and adding a new plate for me. Amazing service! And very affordable! I now found the best pool company in NYC who can travel to Jersey!! Thanks Pool Doctor

I bought pool from Montalbano couldn’t wait for my project to start.I didn’t know pool dr was there installer,as I know people who had problems with them.I wasn’t home when work was being done .but a pool company I never knew what could go wrong.i was getting semi inground and when I came home they had guys digging.i was confused and told them it was semi truck was coming.No communication they didn’t know you could see there mad.then I give them my pool light come home to pool covered and skimmer in front of pool.no one does that.they took forever to return calls.i had to call Montalbano to get them.they had me on schedule to open my pool was gonna charge me 250 thank god I saved my texts where it says we open pool free of chargethey open it no pool light to hear they gave it to me with skimmer basket so of course I lost both ridiculous.was so frustrated didn’t even use pool and when we did the bottom was uneven i had to return robot vacuum because the way pool was.well done with this company as well with Greencroft ave they been ripping off and my boss inground this was his last year with them after hearing stories.holly hill stand by there work there fast and good.because somehow my brand new filter plug got stuck and was destroyed.30 dollars no labor had it in twenty minutes that’s way people work not like this.i see reviews of my yard left clean.my yard was left a disaster and my statue just found broken behind my shed.I guess that’s where pool light and skimmer is to…..

We have had dealings with Pool Doctor Contractors since 2007 until today, they installed our first pool and did it professionally and timely. We continue to have Pool Doctor weekly take care of our hot tub and they do so quietly and timely every week. I intend to hand off our inground pool maintenance to them for 2026. We trust them and Danny and his assistants over the past years has provided professional and top notch service as does Jeannine and her colleagues in arranging and following up on appointments and service calls. I strongly recommend them, they care about the customers whether they are old customers or new customers. Definately a reputable company, even put dogs love them, Lane Family New Dorp.

We had a problem with the panels on the swimming pool wall, there were some cracks in the cement and our liner needed to be replaced. Since we were going through the maintenance we also decided to switch to a salt water system.
Mike came out and gave us and estimate and timeframe to get the work done , and was very professional and knowledgeable.
The team he sent out of Vinny, Solon and Oscar were terrific. They showed up on time each day and were meticulous in their work. The first day they fixed the pool panels and the second day they patch the holes in the pool wall and installed the liner.
They told us everything we had to know about the new salt water system.
I highly recommend this company to anybody needing pool services they are professional, courteous and they show up on time. The office staff of Nicole and Toni are wonderful also they call you with an estimated time the day before, answer all your questions and the team shows on time. Great job. See photos below.

I got my pool during the covid era. This is the first time i got a pool, so i needless to say, i have no idea what im doing. Rich, Nicole, and everyone was very helpful. I did stop by the office to hash out some detail, and everyone was helpful, busy, mask up, friendly. All good around. It took us about ~8 mos from signing the contract, to having a swim-able pool, which honestly, i think is great, given everyone is getting a pool. At no point in time was my expectation breached, that i know it was going to take some time.

I have a Hayward pool heater that was not communicating with The omni hub since the day it was installed. I called so many companies and had several different people look at the unit and were not be able to solve the problem. Mike from Pool doctor looked at it and knew exactly what he was doing. Very professional, neat and quick. He had it working perfectly in a half hour. I would use these guys anytime you have an issue or need maintenance with your pool!!! Five star service!

I needed a new liner, new pool equipment, new piping done after redoing my whole backyard. I called the pool doctor and set up an appointment. Mike came on by and explained exactly what they will be doing and how long it would take. Everything he said they’d do, they did. It came out absolutely perfect. I have a new pool cover, new pool equipment and new piping done. Amazing work. I appreciate them and will be using them and referring them to everyone. No need to second guess, they are the best in the business. 👍

I’m a very demanding customer and I always start by reading the negative reviews. In Pool Doctor’s case, most of the complaints I saw were from the busy season and had little to do with true inground pool work. Also, this is Staten Island — it’s built on a hill and increasingly overbuilt — so underground water is a real issue that homeowners need to address before a new liner goes in, not after.

I hired Pool Doctor in the off-season for a substantial inground project. Their scope was straightforward and well explained: remove the old liner, dig out the entire pool, install French drains, carefully open the concrete in a specific area, go roughly 10 feet down to place a submersible sump pump, then, once the soil settled, restore the concrete and install a new liner. Six months later, the trench and sump system are working exactly as they should, and when a minor adjustment was needed, they returned and took care of it at no charge.

Based on this experience, I’m very comfortable recommending Pool Doctor for serious inground pool work. My only note to them would be to leave the small above-ground liner jobs to others and concentrate on inground projects, where their skill and professionalism really stand out.

Guys did a fantastic job they were very thorough they did everything I would do to open and to close my pool. You can tell they're professionals and they know what they're doing.
