Home Services reviews in Victor, New York

Ordered a cord of firewood from them and it was terrible. Wood was dry but there was about 5 large wheelbarrows-worth of dirt and garbage leftover after had stacked the wood. I was left to clean up a huge mess on my property left by Bristol's. I realize there will be some woodchips and dirt afterwards but I felt this was unacceptable for just a single cord of wood. Called Bristol's and they admitted to the issue but didn't care enough to make it right.
Will not return as a customer. -
I have purchased several things from them over the years but my last purchase was regretfully one of the worst . I was given a price by the manager of the nursery for trees I planned to purchase , unable to purchase them that day because I had no way to transport them . I returned 10 days later to pick up the same trees which had been put to the side for me and I was told that the price had now doubled due to them now being in season . The owner was smug and inconsiderate I will not be back . So if you enjoy buying your gradine stock like they are used cars than feel free to go there . ME I WILL ONLY WORK AND PAYRON PLACES WITH INTEGRITY .

Fantastic garden mart. Not the closest to where I live but still find myself out here. That alone says a lot about how good it is

Love this place. They have everything I need and are super helpful and patient with all my questions. Eric was especially helpful today.

This is one of the largest nurserys in the Rochester area. They have extensive knowledge, tremendous selection and really helpful friendly staff. Highly recommend you make the to trip to Victor to check them out.

Great selection for plants and flowers, but VERY skimpy when you order yards to be delivered to your house, just got charged for 3 yards of topsoil for $150, looks like no more than 2 (and honestly we know). Come on, we've been shopping with you for 20 years!!!!

I planned a DYI replacement of all my overgrown shrubs, and visited Bristol's in late April. I purchased two matching holly shrubs, ordered many other shrubs, and had my purchases held for delivery until everything came in. What followed was an unending series of delay, broken promises to call, and outright incompetence. When I finally gave up on the complete order and had my plants delivered, one of the matched holly's was missing, and in its place was a scrawny substitute. When I returned with it and complained, the nursery manager Joshua offered to exchange it, but all the other stock was similarly scrawny, with all of their good stock sold out. He just threw out a shallow "sorry", and I was refunded my money. I have searched everywhere for a similar sized holly, including online, but the situation is the same: all the mature stock is sold out. I suspect that if I had hired Bristol's to do the project for me, things would be different. In any case, my advice is to avoid ordering shrubs through Bristol's and to be prepared to take home any purchases you might make. One bright note: when the manager of another department at Bristol's heard my story, she profoundly apologized and gave me a $50 gift certificate. My cautionary tale is about the shrub/nursery department.

I love Bristol’s. Recently, I placed a big order with Meghan — she helped with pricing, availability and got my order together for pick up. Couldn’t haven been more helpful, especially considering how busy they were and the added stress of covid. Thank you!!

They have one of the largest plant selections in Rochester. We worked with Chuck to design a garden bed in our backyard and he was extremely helpful. He walked us around the entire store, giving us plant recommendations and discussing the maintenance requirements for each one.

Seems fine, a bit expensive, but good collections of things. We usually only go for special events.

Bristol's has a decent selection, but they can be way over-priced. In a pinch, I bought a couple of small pots of marigolds for $7.99 each. I thought that was a bit high, and sure enough, I found the same exact kind of marigolds for $3.99 per pot at a competitor's store. Kind of outrageous, really.

Personnel was extremely rude and desperaging when returning a tree completely within stated policy and with full documentation. Will not visit again. Edit update: was returning tree which paid full price for completely within policy. The personnel granted the request after a long drawn out argument. Again, completely within policy. This is dishonest even in the response from the business owner. Buyer beware.

I go to Bristol’s Solely for their indoor plants they keep in their greenhouse. They usually have a diverse selection and the prices are on par for the other nursery’s in the area. They have a great selection of succulents and cacti. I love going and adding to my plant collection!

Great prices and wonderful selection

Outstanding landscape center. Several acres of shrubs, plants and trees. Even as the winter sets in. Good selection of fertilizers and plant care items. Staff I spoke with took time to answer questions and make recommendations. Got great apples at cheap prices. Checkout lady was not in a good mood when I was there.

I have a completely unopened container of synthetic (ie, does not expire) fertilizer that I lost the receipt for and have not had time to return because their location is totally out of the way for me. I have the charge on my credit card for the exact amount that the fertilizer costs. I understand not giving me my money back, but not even allowing me to exchange it for something else is bad business. I was going to exchange it for some peat, plus make another purchase of a product they have there that not many other garden centers have in this area, but instead I will just order it from online somewhere. They won't get my business again.

Fast to deliver 2 yards of topsoil to me but the topsoil had shreds of rough mulch throughout. Glad only using as fill for new fence and not to plant grass for lawn. Was going to get another yard for that but not
now. Disappointed with quality for use in garden for planting. -
We hired Bristol for a complete upgrade to our front yard around the perimeter of our house. We wanted stylish and low maintenance. We worked with Jerry who truly listened to our thoughts and helped us come up with the perfect design. The crew was professional and courteous. We’ve worked with a lot of landscaping companies over the years. We will only work with one now—Bristol. They are excellent.

I really tried liking this place, however the return policy is just ridiculous, they practically missing it all together! I really liked the selection of roses that the place provided, however each time I buy a rose from them ( I have purchased 2 ) it comes with a disease which spreads to all of my healthy roses in the garden, which if you are a rose lover you know is difficult to treat! I would recommend sticking to Home Depot and Lowe’s, healthier plants and unbeatable return policy!

Bristol's is one of the very few privately owned garden centers left in the area. Selection is fantastic, everything you can imagine; trees, shrubs, climbers, perennials, and all your favorite annuals. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Also a pet-friendly place, our Basset Hound Bobbie always makes new friends on our visits.
I have purchased everything from soup to nuts here, quality unsurpassed. Beautiful outdoor decor available. Everything you could imagine for novice to experienced gardening. -
Amazing selection but pricey. I have gotten several perennials from here and they are thriving. However, I called over the phone and asked if they had boxwoods in stock (before I drive all the way from Greece) and the person on the phone told me no which I find kind of hard to believe for such a huge place but whatever.
