Hired Fontaine Landscaping to install a patio, drainage system, walkway and lightning system. The project ran smoothly and was completed in a timely manner. The contract was specified in detail and the team was easy to work with and they listened to our requests and suggestions.

We've been using Fontaine Landscaping for lawn maintenance and special projects for about a decade. Kevin is always a pleasure to deal with. And during those rare instances when an issue arises, he is always quick to respond. I highly recommend them.

TLDR: Overpriced, poor service and aloof.

Outside of the sales guy, my experience with Fontaine was terrible, from start to finish.

Charged me $400+ a month for subpar yard maintenance, using an outsourced crew that couldn't have cared less about their quality of work. Only after I told them to cancel my contract did they admit the work being performed was "atrocious", then they had the gall to ask me to reconsider!

Worst part of the ordeal was that I copied the owner, Kevin, on several emails expressing my dissatisfaction and never once received a reply from him.

Poor quality, poor value, poor service and most importantly, poor recovery. Mistakes and misses happen - I get that - but when no effort is made to make a correction / recovery, that speaks to a cultural problem within the company.

Overpriced, unreliable, promise everything - deliver little. I hired Fontaine a year ago to take total control of my extensively landscaped yard. They were expensive but I thought it would be worth it -- it wasn't. The person I initially talked to was knowledgeable about plants, shrubs, maintenance, etc. He was fired and it went downhill from there. They have high turnover and no quality control. Perhaps a victim of the current hiring/talent problems they subcontract everything and are really just a mow-and-blow operation. It seems like too many clients are forcing them to spend as little time on your property as possible. Their intent is to get in and out of your yard as fast as possible. I had to stop paying them to get their attention. They made a short-lived push to fix things neglected for months but it was not sustainable. My yard looked far worse than it ever had when I let them go.

I finally took over my own landscaping and found reliable, knowledgeable subcontractors for the various tasks at a fraction of the cost. My yard now looks great and I'm spending a fraction of what they were charging.

Kevin and his crew did an amazing job transforming our yard. We purchased an older home and sadly our landscaping had been neglected. Kevin listened to our ideas and provided us with detailed pictures that incorporated our vision and budget. Additionally Kevin updated our existing outdoor lighting and added additional LED fixtures. Our new yard look beautiful during the day and at night. Highly recommend Fontaine Landscaping!

Very happy to have found a firm who so capably manages every aspect of our landscaping needs. Kevin Fontaine is professional, responsive, proactive, and punctual in every interaction. Our irrigation system was damaged by a previous supplier, but Kevin and his team repaired it so it works perfectly. They keep our lawn immaculate, and have installed a beautiful crape myrtle tree. We absolutely loved the work and service provided by Kevin and his crew! They installed two paver patios and a walkway and planted trees and native plants. It was great working with Kevin and Fontaine Landscaping! To confirm the type of project I wanted, Kevin came out personally to review the first recommendation and worked with me to revise the plans. The Hardscape work turned out beautiful and works well in my landscape. The new plants were carefully planted and new edging and mulch are a great addition. We could not be more pleased with the job that Peter and his son did for us! They were able to give us everything we wanted within our budget and were honest with their pricing and time frame. We now have a much more usable and attractive space around our pool…one we can enjoy and share with others. We are beyond happy!

Do NOT touch Peter Uhlick or his company Standard Construction & Landscaping - avoid at all cost. He and his business do lousy work, charge in excess and do not complete. Avoid like the plague.

Excellent design ideas. Same talented, polite staff that has worked there for years who continues to do quality work. They’ve transformed our yard and turned our dream into a reality!

Standard Contruction & Landscaping is by far the worst company I have experienced in 25-years of home ownership and 50+ in-home service providers. The owner presented himself as flexible and professional upfront, but that evaporated shortly after signing contract and making initial payments. Then I found them unreliable, disorganized, unresponsive, and unethical. The finish project (100k) was average at best and not what I was promised or agreed to. I kept getting steered away from the materials that I actually wanted to his preferred products, which a suspect were more discounted to him. I only capitulated fearing the job would be abandoned by him (as I had paid 10-20% ahead) and I just wanted to end the relationship. Due to empirical and observable over charges, which were to be negotiated towards end of project, I refused to pay the last few thousand of dollars, as I was overcharged by several times that amount. Lastly, I found that the owner was particularly resistant to accept any responsibility for his mistakes and poor communication skills, which lead to early problems, that snowballed. There are too many other quality landscapers out there; so, I suggest to steer clear of this company.

Once we hired the contractor, it was extremely difficult to communicate with him. Some of the work was not done as expected, including quality and timing issues that were unsatisfactory. We ended paying for an attorney to close the contract and mediate. Working with Standard constructions and Landscaping was a nightmare.
