Timely, personable, professional, thorough, safety- conscious and very Hard Workers. They took down 7 trees and majorly trimmed back 10 trees, in two days and left the yard immaculate.

I used KO Tree Services on 5/20/2022 for trimming and removal of large branches that were too close to our house. They performed all services to my expectation at a very fair price. They try very hard to please and only collect when the customer is satisfied with services.
I would use these folks again.

Cowboy and crew did a fantastic job. I have used these guys a few times before. The senior and military discount was greatly appreciated in these times. Jason is superman when it comes to trees.

This company is AWFUL. They never completed the promised work. We gave them 2 months to finish the job due to lip service from Cowboy. They left our yard half done and without any mulch. We called over 10 times, and no response . They talk a good game, but really are scam artists who just want your money .

KO Tree Service was performing a tree trim I'm my neighborhood. They asked if I wanted an estimate. Based on previous estimates, I felt
It was fair. They came back on schedule the next day, completed the job and cleaned up all debris! I wound use them again.

Last week, a man by the name of cowboy approached me in my driveway while I was getting my babies out of the car (while it was raining may I add). He told Me he was with KO tree services and gave me his business card and was explaining that they were doing work in my area. He said that they had a truckload extra of “good quality mulch”- “about $500 worth” and needed a place to dump it- for free! I asked him if there was a catch because that seemed too good to be true… Well, I should have listened to my gut. Instead, I naively thought this man was doing us a good deed and told him “sure, you can dump it right here on the side of our house.” because we had some things that we could use it for.
1.I did not realize a “truck load” was a DUMP TRUCK load (lol)
2.It was not “good quality mulch” ... it was a fresh, chopped up pine tree. With huge chunks of tree throughout it. If I had known this to begin with, I would have never agreed.
3.They hit our flag pole and dumped it straight on it, knocking it out of the ground and damaging it & our yard. I have pictures to prove as it was happening.
It took multiple times of contacting them before the owner finally called back. He was extremely rude, and not in the least bit helpful and refused to come get this “mulch” or even help with the damage to our flag pole and yard. And then, proceeded to threaten US with “defamation of character” for calling him out!! Which is laughable. Absolutely horrible way to conduct a business. No integrity. I would hate to pay these people a dime. Just beware!

PLEASE Don't Use This "tree service"! First off we don't know any of the people the owner refers to in his terrible replies to previous unsatisfied customers. Secondly what we were quoted by Cowboy & told would be done plus how we could pay was nothing like what actually happened. And don't believe they will clean up after...oh they blow off your yard but be prepared to clean up ALL their trash afterwards. Another thing we never saw a bucket truck which Cowboy promised to get a huge Magnolia tree in our back yard trimmed up with...in fact that tree only had a few branches taken off...which we could have done ourselves. Our back yard was barely touched and trash was left all over. We were told the owner would come by in 2-3 days after the job was done to make sure we were satisfied, then we could pay him $300-$500 (our total quote was $1300) and he would set us on a monthly payment plan...that's not at all what happened...the owner said we had to pay at least half the day the job was done and post date a check with the other half. Oh the owner sat in his air conditioned vechical in our driveway for hours constantly fussing at the workers to hurry up and get done. He didn't even want any of them to take a break and he left once to return with a case of warm Gatorade...we provided the guys with a cooler filled with cold waters and sodas. The only good thing about this company is the workers...our hope is all of them find a real decent company to work for soon. Listen take our advice don't dare think you will get what you're promised! Find another company...one that really cares about their customers and their own employees.

If i could give them a zero star review i would. Cowboy came by and told us about how they were doing other work in the area, asked if we had any work to be done. After showing him some things and getting a quote we agreed on a price and that they would be out the next day with a small team to get the job done. Well, they never showed up. My wife worked from home that day and called them 3 times and left a message with no response. We called back again 2X on Saturday, same thing no response. Afterwards we looked them up and all of their negative reviews, had we done this ahead of time we never would have attempted to hire them.

I had K O Tree Service to do work at my home in Wilmington, NC and they did a wonderful job.. so wonderful that my neighbors are asking for them to come and do work here in our neighborhood. I am very grateful for the price and the time this company provided us. It sadness me to see such a bad review about this company after the work that was done to my home. It is one thing to be upset with someone but to trash the name of a company like K O Tree Services is another; I only wish there was a company here in Wilmington that cared enough to walk me around my home and point out what needed to be done. Yes I would hire them again and yes they will be doing my neighbor yards... I was always told to see for yourself and not go off of what people say.. I tried them, I loved them and will try them again in the very near future... I will be more than happy to supply pictures of their work.

I was told that the work would be done on Sunday and double checked with the salesman "Cowboy" during the day, in person. He said "they be there in a hour". Waited all evening, and they never came.

I tried to call the number on the business card... no answer. Three messages left over two day with no response. Monday, I told them NOT to come and that I needed to see insurance documents and I was to be on-site when work was performed. They ignored my messages and came while I was NOT home.

Limbs were left on my roof, all sawdust and small debris was blown into my neighbors flowerbeds... instead of them cleaning it up. They covered shrubs and created more work for me to clean up.

My neighbors children then came over and said "the workman were screaming, fighting and cussing while they were in your yard." This is unacceptable!!! Come into my neighborhood and offend my neighbors? I was then told it was "Cowboy" telling at one of the women and using foul language by another neighbor.

Yes the work was done, however, there were several questionable actions along the way. No insurance docs provided, no communication and a blatant disrespect for our neighborhood.

The business is registered in Winston-Salem although they pitch it being local.

In regards to the service, this company does a good job and they cleared two trees in about a day and a half from my property. They did not leave a mess like I have read others state. I was happy with the service itself for sure. My only issue with them is that when Cowboy and I first spoke, I stated I wanted to wait to do service on my lawn until January due to financial reasons. Cowboy immediately said that was no issue and that we could post date payment up to 90 days. Once the job was done, he stated he needed as much money up front. This was not what we discussed at all, and has put me in a bind. I paid him over half up front and post dated the remaining amount 30 days, but nevertheless this was not our agreement between two men. That was disappointing as you take a man's word and a few days later that turns into something else. Otherwise, the service was good in terms of tree removal.

Third time we have used KO for tree removal and myrtle pruning. They do very good work professionally, timely and the price is competitive.

Daniel (Cowboy) Smyers and his crew came and took down a tree in the front yard and did some other tree work. We shook on the deal for an agreed upon price. I paid him the same day with a check, asking me to make it out to an individual and not the company. About a week later, he came by asking for payment AGAIN. BEWARE this company does not keep accurate records.

The same day as the tree work, I asked if he would take care of the stump in the middle of my front yard. We shook on a price of $50. Today, he showed up and told me it was going to be $200. I reminded him that he said he would do it for $50. He said he'd do it for $100. I asked if that included chip removal and he said yes so I agreed. Just now, at 6:20 he came back to do the work and said he was not going to do chip removal. I reminded him that he already went back on his handshake of $50. I told him I did not want chips because the house has had previous terminate damage. He did not budge and asked if I wanted it done or he'd go away. I told him to move on.

Bottom line: They fly through a neighborhood offering good prices because they stack the jobs. Cowboy doesn't honor his handshake, get everything in writing on their letterhead.

These guys have a great system .. Will come out give you an estimated cost of the project fill out paper work and be there with in 3 days to do the job.. Their climber and some helpers get the trees trimmend and taken down in our case and put neatly at rhe road a day later the "clean up crew" comes along and chips everything blows and it looks as if they where never in my yard ! Job well done guys ! Thank you see u when i need some more work done!

I have used KO Tree Services a couple times. They are a great group of guys. Very professional, in and out in no time. They clean up everything and leave the area nice. I will definitely use them again.

A person who calls himself Cowboy came by our home. Since he was here, I told him what we wanted our crepe myrtles trimmed. We talked about a date. I ASKED HIM IF IT WOULD HARM THE CREPE MYRTLES TO CUT 1/3RD OFF DURING THE SUMMER. HE SAID "NO" AND ASKED IF I WOULD SIGN A FORM HE FILLED OUT. I signed then was suspicious when he left without giving me a copy. So I looked up the validity of what he said. No one reccommends trimming crepe myrtle in the summer, everyone including Universities recommended to NOT trim crepe myrtles in the summer. It was a reasonable price so I sent an email to the company. They did NOt REPLY. A couple of weeks later I called during normal working hours. They were supposed to call back to schedule a new date. They have not called. The original date was scheduled for July 1st. If they show up I will change this review to a 1. If they do what is right, I will erase this review and do a different one after they complete the job in winter.

Cowboy and his crew from KO Tree Service did a great job for us and a lot of our neighbors. The work was done in November 2016. We were quoted a price, they came out, did the work, did a great job, cleaned up after themselves and came back a week later for payment. I would hire them again in a second. All of the neighbors on our block were pleased with their work and they did a lot of work for a lot of homeowners and I did not hear one complaint from anyone - nothing but praise from everyone. We were all very pleased with this company. They even stacked some of the wood by our fence so we could use it for our smoker. They receive the highest rating possible from me.

K.O Tree Service did a great job. They were able to handle all of our tree needs! Very professional and very nice to work with. We will definitely use them again in the future, and recommend anyone looking for tree services to give them a call!!!!

I found KO Tree Services on a flyer they left at my door. I reached out to Nate for a tree on my front yard that fell on the roadway. I asked for the tree to be removed and Nate mentioned that the crew was in the area and they could remove the tree and haul away all debris . Crew showed up on time same day, maintained clean space and worked to clear the road of all debris. They took pride in their work and cleaned up after themselves. I have large number of trees on my yard and will be using KO Tree Services for any of our tree service needs.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by my KO experience. I had talked to Cowboy multiple times over several months (he was persistent) about cutting multiple trees near and, in some instances, over my house. When we were about to sign the deal, I read the reviews online and became concerned. I asked for two recent references and although there was push back at first, Cowboy quickly responded and provided within 30 minutes. I checked them out and they were satisfied with their performance. We set clear expectations regarding cleanup, how much wood to leave, and time frame. I signed the contract at noon and they were on the job at 12:45. By 6pm, five 40-50 foot trees were on the ground. The group was experienced and hard working. They arrived promptly the 2nd and 3rd day to finish the job. With clear expectations up front this team delivered.

Jason, Cowboy and crew did an excellent job removing two huge oak trees and grinding stumps. The fee was extremely competitive and work was done quickly and professionally. It was great to work with them.
