Bill did a great job of removing an overgrown bradford pear from my front yard. He returned my call immediately and came out the next day to remove the tree. Great service and I would recommend him to anyone!

We had Black Bear Tree Service come out soon after we bought our house to take down a few trees that were showing signs of distress. Then when a tornado went over our house in 2011, we had them come out again to take out the newly damaged trees. In both cases, they provided friendly, excellent, prompt, and professional service. I had used Bill in the past and was so pleased I wanted to have him come out again and do more work. I had 2 large, dead, 70 ft tall pine trees that needed to be taken out. I also had one that had already fallen and destroyed my fence. They removed a section of my fence and dropped both of these monster trees in a 6' gap. Precision work! I highly recommend Black Bear Tree Service for any tree removal you might have.

Black Bear Tree Service did an outstanding job recently trimming up several live and white oak trees on my property. Mike was very responsive and came out to give me a quote quickly and provided a written contract within a day. The day he agreed to start, he and his co-worker showed up promptly and the work was completed as promised.

One of the live oaks had a large trunk/branch that was very close to our house/roof and they were able to remove it without any damage to the house. They made sure to secure ropes around any branches close to the house and a nice manzanita so there was no damage to either.

They also cleaned up the trimmings and placed everything in our existing burn piles for us to burn later. Also cut up some of the larger pieces for us to use as firewood. They took great safety precautions for themselves and to my property. They were very professional and courteous as well. I would highly recommend them!

Our church had an old tree to fall and damage our fence after a storm. After looking online for local businesses, I read many reviews and called several. Bill at Black Bear Tree Services held up to all his amazing reviews. He was the most pleasant and courteous person when he answered and I explained our situation. AWESOME!!!! To put it simply thats how i would describe this company and the work they do. Bill is an outstanding guy and so were his employees. Knowledgeable, well manored, quick and incredible prices. Black Bear will be our go to tree company.

Update- We just had trees cleared in the back of our house so we can actually have a useable yard. Bill and his team once again left us amazed and grateful to have found Black Bear Tree Service. They truly are the staple of what- customer service, professionalism and quality of work should be. Not many companies out there like this these days.

I was very pleasantly surprised with the service provided by Bill Smallwood of Black Bear. His insurance company provided a certificate of insurance. After 25 very large pine trees were cut and had to fall near the house, the house suffered no damage! The price was quite fair, in fact possibly "too fair." When several concerns were discussed, I am confident Bill's advice was based upon what was in my best interest versus his greatest profit. All the logs and laps were removed in a timely and proper manner. He always did as he said from the way trees were cut to the pricing to showing up on time. I must even compliment his helpers for working hard and not having "potty mouths." I recommend these guys to anyone.

Bill and his team were fantastic! They removed 14 large trees including 5 huge leyland cypress, 6 pines and 3 hardwoods. I was amazed at how they were able to remove these large trees, clean up the debris, grind stumps, completing this project within two days. We feel as though we have a whole new back yard! We originally hired Bill and his crew in October 2016 to clear trees from the rear of our lot. He quoted me a more than fair price and actually cleared more than agreed on. We again called Bill when we needed large trees removed around our pool. Working around ornamental plants,underground pool piping,new sod and a fenced in yard we trusted Bill’s experience and professionalism to get the job done correct. We had 4 local companies give us quotes for 3 large oaks in our backyard in preparation for a pool. Bill was not only the most reasonable but he was able to do a total of 10 trees including 4 large pines for the cost the other companies wanted for just the oaks. I'll start by saying I'm a "stickler for details" & customer service. Bill, with Black Bear Tree Service, removed a total of 20 trees from our yard. Most were tall pine trees, a couple of those pesky "gumball" trees, & some large overgrown trivets. Bill & his crew were punctual, professional, friendly & unbelievably efficient. They took great care when dropping the trees not to damage anything around the house or yard, & cleaned up all the debris. The transformation to our landscaping after removal of these trees looks amazing. I could not be more pleased with his service & work, REALLY! Black Bear Tree Service has restored my faith in professionalism. It was a pleasure working with Bill and his crew from the moment he came to give me an estimate to the time they finished sweeping the street of all debris.
He took down three pines, a tulip poplar and a maple tree and was done within three hours.

Bill and his crew were the best! I had met with several companies and not only was Bill's estimate detailed, he gave me several options, a good price. He was far more knowledgeable and had more experience than the other companies I had met with. I received the estimate on Saturday and Bill and his team arrived the next Monday morning and did all the trimming and tree removal and cleaned up promptly. All of his team was so respectful and nice. OUTSTANDING service and price....
