I signed up for LawnStarter to complete three lawn mowing services, but from start to finish it’s been a frustrating experience.

The first pro who came out charged an extra $50 “long grass fee.” The grass wasn’t long at all — and after checking the photos myself, it was obvious this was an unfair upcharge. Thankfully, customer service was responsive and removed the fee, but it left me questioning the integrity of the contractors they work with.

I tried to adjust my service plan to include one more mow this year and then resume next spring, but that change was never made. Instead, the scheduling got messy — one service was delayed, and now another showed up unexpectedly in mid-November, even though our grass has stopped growing. Because of their scheduling mistake, I’m now being charged for a service I never wanted at this time of year.

From start to finish, this experience has been disappointing. Between deceptive charges, poor scheduling, and lack of follow-through, I can’t recommend LawnStarter. I had hoped for a simple, reliable lawn-care solution, but instead it’s been nothing but headaches.

I used LawnStarter while my house was on the market for sale. I was very impressed by their work ethic. Showed up as scheduled, did a great job on mowing/edging/clean up. This ensured my property had wonderful curb appeal which helps attract potential buyers. I believe it contributed significantly to a very quick sale of my property. Thank You!

Good experience today. They were on time. Very respectful and helpful to ready my yard for visitors. No confusion whatsoever about payment or direction for cutting the lawn. This is the way to go!

I began using the company in June of 2025. Initially I had no problems. Then the pro on 1 of my properties damaged my planted motion sensor and put dirt and lawn debris in the recycle container, instead of trash. This caused a problem with Republic. Also, Normally you would have a 5 day grace period to pay the pro and rate the service. My card was attempted every day from the time the pro finished until I called. Only for me to go to my property and learn that a I WAS NOT SATISFIED. The job was not performed to my satisfaction. Weeds were left all around my central air unit and on the side of the home. Will I use the company in the future? Or will I use an alternate service? Stay tuned........11/24/2025 UPDATE; I was contacting and offered a credit to resolve my review. However there has been no resolution as of yet and my email is sending me follow up reminders as I haven’t been responded to. Yet, LawnStarter keeps sending me alerts for additional services….

I’m really happy with the lawn mowing services I’ve gotten from Dakota through Lawnstarter. Not just mowing, but edging and trimming, as well! Also polite and punctual with great cleanup. He even blows debris off my front porch and there’s no clean-up to do when he’s finished! I don’t even need to be here or supervise in anyway for him to do a great job. The LawnStarter app is awesome! I can communicate with Dakota and reschedule if I need to. I can also schedule other services. Highly recommend! Very reasonable prices.

Great and reasonable services. I have used many times over the years.

They always do a great job, whether it's scheduled mowing every couple if weeks, or one-time jobs to clear up leaves in the fall or debris around the yard.

I asked them to remove a tree of heaven and they followed my instructions to a tree, I mean a tee. It’s a great organization and they did a great job.

They do the best work of any lawn service that we have had in the area. Prices are fair, the crew is reliable and they do EXCELLENT work.

Really lousy experience. We had poor maintanence of our lawn with spotty, irregular service. I would call and request things to get done only to have them ignore my requests. Despite multiple attempts to speak with the crew to discuss the maintenance, I did not get a single call back. Totally unresponsive. Would highly recommend avoiding this service.

They have yet to call me back about mowing my lawn so I cannot rate them on how well they did my lawn...only on how promptly they respond to job requests. I filled out the request/contact info at least a week ago. I'm giving them 3 stars on that instead of 1 star because I don't know if there's a legit reason why they never contacted me.

After two years overseas, my partner and I came back to a home and yard that had become completely overgrown with weeds, alien vines, layers of fallen leaves and the disintegrating rot of a fallen fence. We were overwhelmed and understood we were going to need help to get the outside of our home back into a state that we could maintain. Enter TROSA Lawn Care. Their estimator and the foreman of the crew that came out to do the work seemed to know exactly what we needed better than we did. From our guidance to "clean the yard up and remove the vines", we got an A+++ recovery of our home curb appeal. That foreman asked me one question about which plants in the front yard and I shrugged my shoulders(since I'm ignorant of plant types) with a reply along the lines of please get rid of the weeds. His reply was a steady, "I got you"... And so began our love affair. Ok, ok, not everyone thinks my sense of humor is funny. But this man and his crew *did* get me... and then some. They had to use a lot of their own judgement and spent hours reclaiming the yard from all that growth/trash and then trimming and shaping what was left. My honey and I are beyond thrilled with the job. That foreman and his crew absolutely carry my highest recommendation.

Trosa came out and removed all the leaves in our yard yesterday. This was not an easy task because our yard had not been attended to for awhile. They did a fantastic job! We have used Trosa for our move, Christmas trees and now will use them for our lawn care service as well. Brett was easy to work with and made sure we were taken care of! I would highly recommend Trosa!

I have been using TROSA lawn care service for three years now and I am always happy with their work and the crews who are sent to my home are very friendly and do a great job. I really like working with them.
