Maki Pool Services were extremely profession and walked me through the process of what they had to do to repair my pool wall and replace my pool liner. They completed phase one of the project in 3 1/2 hours. They were so efficient that I cooked them dinner to go.

My husband and I have been communicating with this company for over a month now, just trying to find out what their schedule is like and if we can get ourselves on that schedule to have an above ground pool installed. Each time we've been told we would get a call back. We were even told someone would come out to give us an estimate but they didn't come out and we didn't even get a courtesy call. Only after I sent an email did I they reach out...only to be told they would be coming out and you guessed it...no show and no call. Such a shame because this company came highly recommended and they were nice on the phone but their lack of communication is a deal breaker. Based on their poor communication skills, I'd be afraid to hire them now. I'm afraid they wouldn't get the job done. If they just had the courtesy to tell us whether they are scheduling the job we asked for or if they are prioritizing bigger jobs, we would completely understand. But they obviously don't need our business if they leave us hanging so many times. Very inconsiderate and unprofessional if you ask me. This company might challenge this review but I have phone records and an email to back this up. Very disappointed. I'd give zero stars if I could.

Good quality workmanship. Answered all of our questions in a timely manner. Only misunderstanding was when payment was due. My understanding was when job was complete. Their understanding was when water started flowing into the pool. Any way things worked out. We are enjoying our new pool. I would recommend this company.

The service to the pool was not an issue, however with no prior notice and no invoice given...this woman rings my doorbell and behaves like a mafia story from a movie. She demanded to collect cash I didn't have on me due to NO NOTIFICATION, then says she is not leaving and then her male associate proceeds to talk ugly to me and threaten me with a sheriff! I politely asked for an invoice, and 3 days before clearly told them to LET ME KNOW what day for payment so that I could be prepared. They had no problems texting me prior, but nothing about payment date or payment pickup on this day. I didn't even know an exact completion date and figured they would simply let me know NICELY!! Mind you, its 155 dollars that I told them I would gladly go to the ATM and get once dressed, and come by their office or mail payment, or they could come by later since they just rang the doorbell and gave no notice. They argued with me in a very ugly and unprofessional manner for over 20 minutes. Brought no invoice or receipt, yet stated they were going to camp out in front of my home. I run three businesses and these PEOPLE are extremely unprofessional towards payment handling and how to speak to a customer. Needless to say, they had their payment within an hour once I was dressed and made it to the ATM. Then I had to sit and wait for them to show up with a proper bill they had to go get after harassing me. I have never been treated so rudely in front of my children and family ever. I never received any form of apology either for the record. I strongly suggest giving your business to a company that does not speak to customers this way at their home.

Thanks to Mako pool inc. We are having our back yard transformed and the experience thus far has proven to be profession , and thier level of knowledge to make this dream into a reality has proven to be evident sence day one.

I am happy with the open lines of communication and they have been very accommodating with our ideas and even offered a few recommendations that would help us save money, yet not sacrificing the end product we are looking for.

If you are looking for a pool installed this summer, I would recommend Mako Pools. Both owners visit my property and ensured timely completion and craftsmanship, thier crew was a group of highly skilled young men learning an honorable trade. I was impressed with a crew, young but knowledgeable and fully trained on equipment.

I was impressed on installation time with the initial, a crew of roughly six installers and one of the owners they had my pool up and level in mere hours. After which for the next two days I received follow ups via phone and in person to ensure everything was in order.

Steve, Jen and their crew were awesome. I have had 3 pools installed and MAKO was head and shoulders above the others. They also built a deck for me that is top notch. I am planning on them building a custom fence for me also. Awesome!!

Mako pool services is a small local company that could teach other similar service providers the meaning of excellent personal service and quality workmanship at a reasonable price. We purchased an above ground pool from Hallmark Spas, Pool and Billard on Fort Bragg Road. We asked Hallmark owner if they could recommend a good local company to setup and install our pool. There was no hesitation, they recommended Mako pool services to us. We called Mako pool services and are extremely pleased from our initial call for setup and installation through completion. In our opinion they did not just meet but they exeeded personal service and set an example for quality workmanship expectations for a reasonable price. Both Mako Pool services and Hallmark Spas are the best folks to go to for your pool needs. Now all we need to do is wait for pool season to jump in and enjoy our new installed pool.

Mako Pool recently installed our new 24' above ground pool and then built a 16'X16' Deck. I was very impressed with the workmanship. They were easy to work with and very accomodating. I like them so much, we'll have them extend the decking next year around the pool. They were great!

Sometimes projects have issues, that's when you need a vendor/contractor to communicate with you and rectify the issues. Thankfully I was referred to these guys from a brick and mortar establishment. I had to involve the store where I purchased my liner to get some resolution. I'm positive, had I bought my liner online I would be stuck. Anyway mako did resolve the issue eventually and things were made right. I highly recommend to buy your pool hardware from a place that you can hold folks accountable.

We recently bought our new pool from Hallmark Pools and Spas. I've been working with Hallmark for years and trusted them, so when they said Mako was going to install the pool, I knew it would be done right. Steve and Jennifer are great people and I knew right away why Hallmark used them. They came out on the first available day to survey the sight and listen to our wants and needs for the pool. They were so receptive, listened to us and did everything they promised. They were always there when they said they would be, courteous, professional and very customer oriented. They also have a great crew that are also polite and courteous and do great work. The pool went up quickly, perfectly leveled and where we wanted it. They cleaned up and left everything looking nice. But here is the most amazing thing...................
When Jennifer first got there, she looked around and started throwing ideas out about a deck between the concrete patio and the pool. We hadnt thought about it, but she said we could this and this and we said OK go ahead and do that. We were thrilled!! The deck turned out great, just the way Jennifer said. My wife also has bad knees and they built great sturdy steps up to the pool for my wife to use safely. We couldnt have been happier. I'm not sure which we love more the deck or the pool. We will be adding onto the deck in the future and will get more ideas from Jennifer.

This is the 2nd project Mako has completed for me. They installed a fence for my dogs - amazing work and very quick turn around !!!

Then I called wanting to do a deck in 3-4 install

I cannot express how happy I am with the work that Mako has done for us. Although the weather delayed their team went above and beyond to make our pool install go flawlessly. They responded to every phone call and text. Showed up when they said they would and called if the weather would not permit them to come. The whole staff was friendly to the point where it felt like a family. Positive attitudes and smiling faces greeted us and left when the job was done. They answered all the questions we had regarding pool maintenance and upkeep as well as a few other landscaping questions. If google allowed more stars they would get them. I can’t wait to spend the rest of the summer relaxing in this professionally installed pool. Highly highly highly recommend this company for your pool installs.

Excellent workmanship. I highly recommend them. We purchased our pool from Hallmark on Fort Bragg Road and they recommended Mako. I have done business with Hallmark for years with our last pool at our other home, so we trusted their recommendation for an installer. Jen and her crew are awesome!!! I would not go anywhere else. I do not recommend using mako pool/pool people. Pay a little more and get someone who will do all the work, not half. 18x40 oval pool.

Bad
1. Communication is terrible. Went days if not weeks on end without hearing from them about simple things.

2. There is no clear verbiage in their contract on what is considered a complete install. For them it’s when they start putting water in a pool. For me it’s when you flip the switch to a pump and filter and you have a fully operational pool.

3. They left me with a 17,000 bath tub. They have a guy that a what they told me over and over again who will make contact with and set up a time and date for getting power ran to the pump. Well that phone call or contact never happened. So I did it myself! Bad business practices from Steve and Jennifer. I told them to stop using that persons name like they were a reliable reference because it tarnishes their name.

4. No set price. Yea the pool install was in the contract but then you have to pay for plumbing and more labor cost that are not include in the initial contract. Then you will be charged for electrical, if anyone ever shows. They said $2550 for install, but then came an additional $300 for plumbing, and probably $1000 if their electrical guy ever would have showed up.

5. They didn’t dig in and backfill the straps and plates good enough and you can see the impressions in the liner. Nothing sharp is felt, but it worries me over time. Easily accomplishable and lazy, just not done right the first time. I also asked if they would put the paper down that I had bought so no weeds would come through the liner, nope, they didn’t. Got the oh I forgot. So I did that one myself again. Luckily for me they hit a stopping point and I was able to go behind their work and get the paper down.

Good
1. Smart on pool matters. For being so smart you think they would be able to do and be better.

2. Got me a decent deal in the pump and filter. $200 cheaper than what places in Fayetteville quoted me.

Pool owner beware. Stay away from this company. The install price sold us, but the headache was more than what it was worth.

Jennifer and Steve were awesome! I called this morning for help on installing a pump onto my above ground pool, and they arrived within a few hours. Jennifer was able to show me how to use the new pump and also offered some great recommendations. I appreciate the help!

I have never seen such a hardworking group of people. The employees of Mako Pool Services are dedicated to getting the job done and getting it done right. In an overwhelming season, they continued to work efficiently and cheerfully even though I know they had to be exhausted. Their knowledge and skill level made me very comfortable with our pool installation. I appreciate how friendly, knowledgeable and dedicated they were in making sure we had the best experience possible. I highly recommend this stellar team!

Steve and the staff at Mako Pools were great to work with. They installed a 27’ above ground pool and built a 27’ x 16’ deck around it. The Staff was very hands on and approachable. I enjoyed being able to bounce ideas about the build off of them, and received honest feedback. The Mako staff were patient with me as I changed the design several times, they clearly cared about the end product and were not just there to throw up a pool and deck. At the end of the project I also had them fix my double gate on my fence and hard plumb my pool lines. I was just as satisfied with those projects as well. I would recommend Mako Pools to anyone and I will use them for any future project.

Jennifer and Steve were very professional, and they take pride in their work. Jennifer was able to show my wife how to use the pool pump, and pool robot cleaner. Months later we had them come out to build a deck and let me tell you we love it. Jennifer and her team are very respectful, and we enjoyed their company while they worked on our dream projects. If you want a pool or a deck setup, hire Mako pool services. You won't be disappointed.

Good team. They leveled the ground and constructed the pool fairly quickly just waiting for the liner to have the wrinkles straightened out so we can continue to fill the pool and have the pump built and installed. Also having them install hard plumbing. Follow up upon completion to come.
