Constraction reviews in Fayetteville, North Carolina

I am very pleased with my experience with this company. The gentleman was very friendly on the phone, and took the time to talk with me about the project and offer different solutions depending on what I wanted. The serviceman, John, was kind and especially forgiving when I messed up our appointment time. He was able to still fix my broken garbage disposal on the same day. He was competent and efficient. I will not hesitate to call them again. I highly recommend them.

Work completed was done very well, no issues there. However the quote process needs work. I was quoted +$500 for materials when in fact less than $150 was probably spent there. The quote did not include what I believed I was asking for; so I paid someone else afterwards to finish my painting needs. I was quoted a 2 day job which took 4+. I asked for unused paint to be left for me as I paid for it and only the home exterior paint was left, no trim paint. On the exterior, I supplied all the home siding, minor repairs to fascia and soffit were made using my $500 supplies. Maybe 2 sticks were used here? The contractors vehicle left oil stains all over my driveway I had to handle every night. Again, the crew doing the work were very good and I have no issue with them. I do not believe however they are US Veterans? (COMPANIES NAMESAKE?)
Overall not certain of recommendation from me... -
I have used these guys for plumbing repairs to include well pump repairs. The first time i called was around midnight as I just got home to a lake of water in my yard due to a water pipe junction that busted. I left a message and bright an early the next morning they got in touch and by mid morning in (Dunn) were on the site getting it fixed. While the Plumber was there he also took the time to fix some things on my well pump too. The price was reasonable and the service was great. That was last summer while I was home in between jobs.
They just came out and did some more repairs after I got in touch from overseas working as I often do. Again they got out to my residence quickly and got it repaired for me. Not being there I had many questions by email and they quickly replied with detailed explanations of what and why it went wrong. Being a first time well pump owner I always ask a lot of questions so i can troubleshoot or do preventative care for future operations.
I will be using yet again to do some other work that was postponed because of budgets in the near future. Definitely would recommend for any of your household repairs! -

I recently hired them to replace a sink, and I couldn't be more satisfied with their service. They completed the job quickly and at a fair price. The team was professional, efficient, and made sure everything was working perfectly before they left. Highly recommend for any plumbing needs!

Veterans Affordable Construction has come through for me on several projects, most notably my screened in porch and my new roof. They've also replaced my waterheater and several other smaller repairs. All work was done timely, professionally and affordably!

Quick response and professional. Communication means a lot to me and Veterans Affordable Construction provided just that. There was never a time I was not able to contact their company. The price to replace my entire roof was fair and AFFORDABLE!!!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!! I had a closed in deck, and bathroom remodeled done by this business. First of all it took them way out of the timeline that we discussed for everything to be completed. The workers would show up unannounced or late and leave early everyday! They would leave mess and you would have to tell the leading contractor to make them cleanup. The workers also did not respect him but I honesty understand why. The lead Contractor Albert asked me to send pictures of what I would like for the bathroom remodel but did not purchase anything I picked out, instead he took my money waited until the last minute and purchase what could be delivered ASAP. Remember I already stated they were way behind schedule even though they got paid. When I spoke to the owner Robert he made it seem like he would look into the matter but no he did not care. He must have saved my number to ignore texts and calls from me. I’m deviated with this experience and I hope no one will gave to endure what I did. I choose this company honestly because their prices was cheaper but I’m learning that saying is so true YOU GET WHAT TOU OAY FOR!! Horrible non existent respect and customer service , cheap products, lazy workers that are not dependable, a crooked business owner. If you would like pics of this disaster do not hesitate to contact me. Please stay away from this business. Do not fall for “Veterans”

I am so greatful for Albert and his team
they did all the repairs on my first time buying a home. Veterans Affordable Construction is a wonderful Construction company to have to repair your home . Timely Manner and i will always keep them first -
I used VAC to help me fix my mothers house after she passed away. I needed to get it ready to sell. I was not trying to flip the house. I wanted to restore the house to its former glory. I used VAC on 3 separate projects. The good is the job got done. The bad is and this is a long list… the crew that worked at my house was seldom supervised. There were decisions made without my consent and I was the one paying. One estimate for termite repair was not completed until I complained and took my own pictures of termite damage that was supposed to be fixed but wasn’t. The work that was completed while the supervisor was gone was shoddy at best. I had to fly to the job site 3 times because work was not being done as I requested it. I know they will probably try to respond to this review saying that they made all the requested repairs and then some and yes that is true but had it not been for my real estate agent and myself it definitely would have not been done right. Supervisors have to supervise if they don’t work has to been done twice and a lot of work at my moms house had to be done twice. Wouldn’t you want your job done right the first time? I would steer clear of VAC if you have a big job. Little jobs would be a better fit for this outfit. I was mean at times because the work that was being done at my moms house was subpar and make sure that you are flexible with your decision on materials and jobs being done to your standards. This outfit may make decisions without your permission and knowledge before it’s too late. I had security cameras at my mothers property that almost always were moved or turned off even when the workers were not working in the area of the cameras. They did not like to be watched but the camera footage that I did see actually is what let me know that they were doing things that I did not ask for. BEWARE! The only good thing that happened was I did finally get my jobs done and yes they looked good but see above ⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️
And no I did not ask for shortcuts on structural repairs don’t be fooled by their response. -
We are extremely grateful to Albert and his team for their outstanding work. Each member went above and beyond, exceeding our expectations. We had both bathroom flooring repaired and one bathroom wall painted, and the team handled it all. They repaired the flooring and painted the wall. We are so happy with the finished product, and they will be coming back again to do other work in the future. We will be calling the Veterans Affordable Construction company for all our future projects.

Be very wary of this company…they talked a good game, however , they sent a crew to build my deck who had trouble communicating in English, and were completely inept at building decks…..within two weeks of completion, my handrails sagged (because they spanned 10’ without post support)…called them to complain, they sent the same folks out to repair it, offered me an inadequate solution, and i ran them off…,,,basically we spent 5K on a simple 10 x 16 deck…..and I have to re-do the railings ibecause they cant or wont offer a competent solution

I am extremely dissatisfied with the work done on my porch railing by Veteran's Affordable Construction. Here are the specific issues I encountered:
Subpar Materials and Workmanship: The company used cheap, low-grade lumber. Their first two attempts at vertical posts were not up to code (something the customer should not have to research or correct). The wood had gouges and deep mill marks, and they did not fill or caulk before painting.
Safety Concerns: The workers left many nails in my garden bed and exposed screws, posing a significant hazard.
Poor Appearance: The overall appearance of the railing was unacceptable. There were gaps, gouges, unpainted parts, and knot holes that were not filled. They did not sand the wood prior to painting, leaving all imperfections glaringly obvious.
Unprofessional Behavior: The workers arrived randomly without notice and chain-smoked the entire time, leaving over a dozen cigarette butts in my flower bed.
Ineffective Communication: When I asked about their schedule, I most often received either incorrect information or no information at all. Additionally, Albert attempted to pressure me into paying the final payment before the work was finished, even though the contract stated the final payment was due upon completion of the work. After observing how the project started I refused due to my prediction that the work would not be completed in accordance with the contract, and I was correct.
Messy Work: One of the workers spilled paint on my driveway on a day he wasn't even painting. Although the company cleaned up that mess, it was indicative of their overall carelessness.
Unresolved Issues: After seven days of work, I sent a list of tasks that still needed to be completed, including caulking, filling, finishing unpainted parts, removing old debris, and repainting after filling the gouges. These tasks were clearly outlined in the written contract. However, Albert informed me that they were planning to remove the entire installation and then refused to communicate with me further. They had no intention of redoing the work or refunding my deposit.
I would strongly advise against using Veteran's Affordable Construction for any home improvement projects. Their lack of professionalism, poor workmanship, and failure to honor their contract resulted in a highly unsatisfactory experience. -
We are extremely grateful to Albert and his team for their outstanding work. Each member went above and beyond, exceeding our expectations. After our home flooded last year, we had significant damage that needed to be repaired, and their team handled it all. They repaired water damage, raised our flooring to prevent future flooding, replaced drywall, reconstructed my bookshelves, painted, pressure washed, added sealant, and more. We are so happy with the finished product and will be coming back to this company for all our future projects.
