Exterior Additions did an excellent job on our covered porch. We had a complex exhausting roof structure that they were able to integrate into the design perfectly. They were very responsive during the whole process. Highly recommend!

Exterior Additions put a sunroom and deck on the back of our house. We chose them because they put the same thing on a house in our neighborhood. They were very happy with it and let us look it over twice about 6 months apart. We didn’t look at any other company because this couple was very happy with what they got, highly recommended them, it was exactly what we wanted and I could see they did high quality work. The office staff, builders, roofer, gutter installer, electrician and painters were easy to work with and the quality was exceptional. We couldn’t believe how quickly Manny and his crew completed the different stages of the build. They were professional, friendly and cleaned up every day. We are looking forward to enjoying it for years to come.

We are extremely pleased with the amazing work exterior designs did with the transformation of our open poarch to a 3 seasoned lanai/sunroom. The quality of the work is excellent. Tyler responded to our emails quickly and informatively. Jared and the other workers were pleasant and helpful with the construction process and all or our questions. I wanted to take a moment to thank the whole EA team for all of their work on our porch project. We went with a 20 x 14 enclosed porch, with composite decking and eze-breeze windows/door. We are so pleased with how everything turned out. I know my standards are high and they surpassed all of my expectations. From design, to build, all the way to completion everyone on the team was a pleasure to work with. In addition to all of the large/important details, what impressed me the most was the attention to all of the small details as well. I think they may have even rolled in my trash cans on garbage day. The point is that every detail was thought out in advance. Another thing that impressed me was that the project was completed on time and on budget. All of our neighbors rave about how great everything turned out. We are excited to enjoy the space for many years to come! Again, thank you to the whole EA team!

I cannot say enough good things about working with Exterior Additions. They demo'd an existing porch, deck, patio and portico (covered with wisteria) and replaced it with a much larger porch with Azek flooring, a wood burning fireplace and EZ Breeze windows. Doug Lynch (owner) is a perfectionist and it shows in the work of his team and every sub-contractor that he uses. It is also obvious that everyone who works with him, or for him, likes and respects working for him. Every single person involved in this project, from the people responsible for cleaning up, through the builders, electricians, mason, etc. were all terrific at what they do, timely and pleasant to be around. They have mastered the art of the entire process from the original design and contract phase all the way to the end with frequent and detailed communication. There were no surprises. Now that my project is finished, I kinda miss them! Again, highly recommend.

Exterior Additions did a phenomenal job retro-fitting Ez-Breeze windows on our existing screen porch. The service was top-notch, great communication and we are so pleased with the finished porch. Highly recommend this company!

I had an existing porch that really needed to be replaced. I met with 4 companies. Looking at reviews, how long the companies have been in business, and price I decided to go with Exterior Additions. I met with Josh to go over what I wanted to do. I wanted concrete floor/foundation , ezebreeze product and some type of heat for the winter months. He advised EA could do everything I wanted and their pricing was the best for everything I wanted and items that were included in the contract. He strongly recommended that I consider the infrared heaters instead of gas fireplace b/c he said they heat the space better. So far so good. Those heaters throw off a lot of heat and they are cheaper than a fireplace. I have done a lot of construction projects at my home and I know things won’t go perfectly (they never do) so what I look at is how contractors deal issues. When we encountered hiccups the EA team was all over it…I mean all over it! Every person at EA was very professional, polite, and treated me with respect. They definitely get a A+++ b/c they understand customer service is the key to success. My new porch is a very well built structure that has some great amenities that my old porch didn’t have. It’s the most used room in the house!

For those needing a reputable company to construct a screened porch in the Charlotte area, look no further than Exterior Additions (EA)! Even if they do end up being a bit more expensive than other contractors, you will get your money's worth out of the build quality, and more importantly the customer service. Read below for full details!

I initially reached out to EA in March 2022 when we knew we wanted to have a screened porch. I had no idea what to expect, but Josh came by, and wrote up a detailed quote for me. I appreciated his time in providing design recommendations and porch size. Unfortunately, the estimate provided to me was not within my budget at the time.

However, our desire to have a porch constructed never faded. For months, I stayed in touch with Tyler who was so kind and so generous to provide me with multiple quotes as I tried to play with size and options to help fit my budget. We had long conversations, and he was always so friendly, even though I wasn't ready to sign. He was very responsive, typically within hours, for any questions or requests for phone calls that I had. This is how I knew that if I signed with EA, customer service would never be an issue.

Finally, in September 2022, we decided to sign with EA after Tyler helped me to get the specs within my budget. He quickly provided the line drawings so we could have a general idea of what the finished porch would look like, and we were very excited to finally get going on the project.

Raul was my assigned EA crew leader, and he and his crew started construction in early November 2022. Raul was always willing to answer any questions that I had with a friendly demeanor, and it was clear that he led a highly skilled crew. Aside from the custom ordered EZE Breeze windows, the project was done by mid-December, ahead of schedule. The windows arrived and were installed in January to fully complete the project.

Shane from EA was a trooper to bring documents or materials, as needed, and haul away waste and trash - always with a smile. All of EAs subcontractors (Troy for electrical, Jay for gutters, Felipe for painting, the roofers, etc.) were all very efficiently scheduled to get the project done quickly. Final adjustments and touchups were quickly done by Murray who was happy to help with all of the punch-list items. Along the way, I also had the pleasure to meet Doug, the company owner. We had a great conversation about the history of the company, and I got great exposure to EA's general business philosophy.

Bottom line is that this is an awesome group of people! They specialize in porches, and built me an awesome one, and really made me feel like a valued customer all along, even though my project may not have been one of their larger, more expensive ones.

We used Exterior Additions for a screened porch project in summer 2023, and I'd highly recommend them to anyone in the market for an outdoor addition project.

We were in the market for a screened porch with gable roof to be built upon a new deck completed just a couple years ago. We received three quotes from EA and their competition. Their quote process was straightforward starting with a site visit from their head of ops (Josh), and also included a follow-up visit from the owner Doug as we deliberated on a certain aspect of the roofline. Exterior Additions' proactive communications process, attention to detail, and confidence in the trickier aspects of the job led us to choose them vs. the competition, and I'm thrilled we did.

TIMELINESS/COMMNICATION - Tyler was communicative and forthright in their lead time (8-10 weeks). Once the project was started, the crew (which included the owner Doug) was incredibly diligent and hard-working in moving the project along in a timely manner. Tyler also was always available via phone to discuss any aspect of the project while it was in planning or ongoing.

CRAFTSMANSHIP - Despite their diligence and timeliness, I never once felt the team's work was rushed. They had an incredible attention to detail and you could tell the pride in the work from every staff member.

CLEANLINESS/COURTESY - The entire crew was courteous and friendly throughout the project, even though much of the work was done during peak August heat (90+ degrees/humid). They left the workspace clean and also accommodated materials load-in through our garage to avoid disrupting recent landscaping we had installed.

EXPERIENCE - with this being our first screened porch, their experience and familiarity with similar projects helped us both in the design/ideation process and with selection of finishes/details.

Overall a fantastic experience and have already recommended the company to dozens of friends/neighbors as they've seen the product. Thanks EA!

Exterior Additions surpassed all expectations! The space is magical and feels like an outdoor living room; a true extension of our home. Their entire process is professional and seamless beginning with a site visit from Josh who is knowledgeable, friendly, and thorough. Shortly after we received a clear proposal that was comprehensive and easy to follow. Tyler in the office was exceptional to work with. He brought my vision to life; entertaining many inspirational photos, offering clear explanations, allowing customization and delivered well drawn plans. Our construction crew, Mike and Dustin, were excellent as was our project manager, Murray. They were prompt and meticulous. Mike is a true master of his trade and builds with precision. His attention to detail was impeccable which was greatly admired by someone with a design background. Each day the materials were neatly covered and organized as our site was never a mess. E.A. has weekly trash and material pickups by Shane who is simply the kindest person and hardest worker. All of the trades (electrical, fireplace, mason) were terrific. All professional, on time, easy to reach and performed their service exactly as anticipated.

Most importantly Exterior Additions communicates with you and their entire team. Our project manager was always available and visited regularly. We were aware of their daily and weekly schedule; we never sat wondering the progress of our project. Everyone we encountered had a genuine care on the outcome. Exterior Additions is worth the wait, and it is no wonder their customers consistently sing their praises.

We loved our experience with Exterior Additions! They communicated every step of the way and worked efficiently to get everything completed. Our project has was completed about two weeks ago and we are thrilled with the outcome, it’s added an entirely new liveable space to our home!

The team at EA was simply terrific - customer service was second to none and the porch they built for us is literally perfect. Everyone who works for them - from the concrete guys, framers, roofers, electricians, and painters - were friendly and, most importantly, did fantastic work. The owner stopped by near the end to check in on the project and demo our ez breeze windows for us, which I really appreciated. I cannot say enough amazing things about exterior additions! I’ve now built 2 porches with them and they are truly the BEST parts of my homes. The process is seamless, great communication, quick contraction once the project begins, and overall just incredible craftsmanship.

After soliciting bids from a number of local GC’s for our back porch build, we selected Exterior Additions. I was impressed with their portfolio of work, the final pricing came in very competitive with the alternative proposals, and my initial interactions with Josh at the beginning were pleasant - he was very polite, not at all pushy on anything, and answered all of my questions and addressed my concerns. Once we got started with the project, demolition and framing done by Manny and his crew went smoothly like clockwork. They worked quickly but efficiently and were very mindful of our property, always cleaning up at the end of the day. The build quality was top notch and the final product looks like it has always been part of the house. Although it took some extra time to get the Eze Breeze windows installed due to high demand for their product, it was well worth it in the end. We now have a truly 3 season porch, which probably can extend into most of Charlotte’s typically mild winters, given the protection afforded by the windows, plus the two mounted heaters. Aside from the exceptional porch itself, I can’t speak highly enough about EA’s customer service. Josh was always readily available by phone or text to help manage any issues that came up along the way, our project manager Jared regularly met with me on-site to help out where needed, and Tyler in the office answered tons of detailed questions for us. There are probably many porch builder companies in the area who would have built just as good of a porch for us, but in the end, I think Exterior Addition’s customer service is what really sets them apart.

Edit: Just adding some additional feedback here. In the time since the porch was completed, we had a couple of small things that needed to be addressed (squeaky fan, stuck door handle, and misaligned door). I contacted EA for assistance, and they sent someone out to fix the problems within a day or two at no charge or inconvenience to me whatsoever. Thanks Exterior Additions!

FINALLY I'm leaving my three season room to write a review. Pretty much been sitting or sleeping in our new room since it was finished in March 2025. We absolutley love our new space! My husband and I had been thinking about adding a three season room for years and finally decided to make it happen. We got quotes from several different companies. Exterior Additions had a fair price and we were confident in their professionalism so we went with them. Also, my husband knew EXACTLY what he wanted and Exterior Additions said they could do it. Husband also knows more than most about construction and so anyone working with us would have to be responsive to his questions and concerns. Exterior Additions did a great job communicating every step of the way. When my husband had a question he could text Josh and Josh responsed IMMEDIATELY either by text or phone call. Never was my husband left hanging or feeling frustrated, which made my life easier! Tyler was also great to work with, answering my husband's many questions. Now I know why most our neighbors use Exterior Additions for their three season rooms and decks. EXCELLENT SERVICE AND QUALITY WORK! If you are thinking about a three season room you have found your company right here. PS...My husband doesn't write reveiws he says his review is signing the check! I, on the other hand, am so happy with our new room that I want to spread the word far and wide that Exterior Additions is a great company and does quality work.

We had an amazing experience with Exterior Additions! Attentive service, very high quality construction, and a gorgeous addition to our home. I couldn't praise the team at Exterior Additions any higher. The planning, craftsmanship, communication - all of it was exceptional. We knew what our new porch would look like through the design phase but the final product far exceeded our expectations. 12 Years Later, Still the Only Contractor I’ll Trust

I rarely give glowing reviews.....this is an exception for an exceptional company and experience.

After working with Exterior Additions 12 years ago to build a large porch, there was only one company I wanted to go to for a detached garage. In 2014 I was connected to Exterior Additions through Angie's List. The reviews back then sounded too good to be true however they were warranted. Doug came out, had great ideas for how to replace/expand our existing porch. His crew took one and a half weeks to demolish the existing porch and build a new porch. It was a stunner at how fast they worked and how clean they left the area after each day. We were so impressed we asked Doug for ideas for stamped/decorative concrete for a fire pit and other spots and he connected us with Italiana Brothers (Ed Italiano). Also great work....great group of folks all-around. We have absolutely no issues with the porch or concrete work. Both look virtually as they did when finished.

Given that experience there was no way I was going to roll the dice on other contractors. You know when 12 years go by and it is the same people working for the business, same crews, same subs, that says a lot, especially in today's world. This project was a 24x30, cathedral ceiling (for a car-lift) all-brick detached garage. This included two attached concrete pads for a future covered porch and replacement of our entire driveway. This also included some maybe over-the-top electrical work (Amped Electric - Stephen Neal - same company/person who wired the porch 12 years ago).

Few points:
- Doug, Ed and Stephen seem to know what you are going to ask and want before you even think about asking
- Doug seamlessly coordinates and sequences all behind the scenes
- While I can be particular, you know you have the right company when you walk in while they are putting up the wall board (maple plywood), they have a laser level to ensure perfect alignment....INCLUDING equally-spaced and symmetrical screw placement (I wanted exposed screws for later removal if needed). Doug takes it to a higher level.
- Ed, Shannon and JT with Italiano Bros were outstanding.....they know what they are doing. Quality of work is very high. Easy to work with start to finish and also very clean!
- Stephen was great to work with as well. We liked his work so much we had him replace our house's old circuit breaker panel
- I also want to mention Shane - coming by, doing the needful and also making sure all is tidied up....

In conclusion, I am not one to write many reviews however I felt I needed to share this in case anyone wants a job done well, timely with a group of people you can count on.
