Hauch Design has been working with HMD for over 5 years on a variety of projects of different size and complexity. It has always been a pleasure working with their team. They are very conscientious, timely, and determined to provide a quality finish at any scale. But most importantly, they hold the Client's interest above all else. This creates a climate of teamwork, which is why we love working with HMD and recommend them to all our commercial clients.

Bryant, Kenneth and the entire team @ HMD did an amazing job for us here! Our 40 Years old Family business was in need of a full remodel plus an addition. HMD helped us design the perfect space and completed the project on time and under budget!! We couldn’t be happier. Everyone @ Taylor’s and the surrounding North Raleigh community have been so impressed with their finished product. HMD is a locally owned company from a longtime Raleigh family.

HMD was incredible to work with on our medical office! They are a truly professional construction company with easy communication, flexibility, and integrity. Their superintendent, Cody Schmied, was always the subject matter expert on our project and could reliably be found overseeing all activities at the job site. Any minor fix or change was handled expeditiously and they handled all arrangements. Construction projects are usually stressful for us, but HMD made this experience a breeze and completely changed our expectations for future work. We will definitely be using them again. 10/10 would recommend!

We had the pleasure of working with HMD Construction Company for a full upfit of a new dermatology practice in a medical office building—and the experience was nothing short of exceptional.

From start to finish, HMD demonstrated outstanding professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail. Their team delivered high-quality workmanship and materials, and their commitment to excellence was evident in every phase of the project. They worked seamlessly with our architectural firm, office design professionals, interior decorator, and clinical advisors—making the entire process smooth, efficient, and cost-effective.

Having completed several medical office upfits over the years, I can confidently say that HMD stands out as the best we have ever worked with. Their expertise in clinical construction and their proven track record of performance make them a trusted partner for any healthcare or medical buildout.

I highly recommend HMD Construction to anyone seeking a reliable, skilled, and service-oriented construction company. They truly exceeded our expectations in every respect

HMD built our second Cape Fear Seafood Company in Raleigh. We were pleased with their handling of the project and would highly recommend this company.

I had a fantastic experience working with the entire HMD team. Everyone was cooperative, honest, and truly committed to quality—no cutting corners at all. Their professionalism and dedication made the whole construction and development process smooth and trustworthy. I highly recommend HMD for any construction or development project. Thank you, HMD team, for your excellent work!

Requested to meet to get an estimate for a minor addition. Did not show up three times as agreed upon. Stopped responding to phone calls, texts and emails. Very unprofessional

Hi, I wanted to report a safety concern. One of your company trucks (white Ford F-150 with your logo) was driving recklessly on highway 20 around 9am on May 1 2026. They were speeding and driving in a way that felt unsafe to others on the road.

I wanted to bring it to your attention in case you’d like to address this as they should not be driving reckless in a company vehicle.

I've also have had bad dealings with this company. They do awful work. We hired them to do renovations and had to fire them in the first 2 weeks. Awful craftsmanship to say the least.

Wonderful company to do business with! Makes me sad to see the fake reviews that were posted about them. They are honest, trustworthy, hardworking, and their work is award winning!

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Cooper Tacia on several projects. John and his team consistently provide professional, quality construction and a great value. They always come to the table with solutions, and appreciate the input of the design team.

Cooper Tacia does honest, professional work and has always been very flexible to meet the needs of their clients. This company will fully staff their projects with professional supervision and project management. They have a very loyal base of subcontractors that know they can trust this general contractor.

Cooper Tacia / John Cooper is one of the most philanthropic businesses I have seen. The effort and care they put into everything they do is obvious. They hire good people and do great work.

If there was a 0 (zero) star/rating or below zero, I would give this company less than 0. This company and their subcontractors ruined my house. Began project (cut out trusses, removed sheathing, shingles, etc.) without obtaining permits and engineer's letter which was required to perform the job...not only that, workers were about to replace the damaged sheathing with sheathing not approved/coded for roofing. City Inspector shows up and catches the workers trying to install trusses and asks for the permit...they DO NOT have one and are working without a permit. He tells them to Stop All Work and they cannot put up any more trusses or do any more work until they have the proper permits. He also notices the sheathing they had purchased to place on my house...inferior sheathing not coded for roofing and tells them they cannot put the inferior sheathing on the roof. In addition, Inspector tells them they must STOP all work and place a tarp on the house until proper permits are obtained as well as the correct sheathing...sheathing approved/coded for roofs. Project manager promises he will be in their/Inspector's office by 9:00 am the following day to get proper permits. Two days later City Inspector comes by to check my property because the company/project manager who had promised to get the required permits did NOT get them. A "Stop Work Order" was placed on the door of my home! Subsequently, heavy thunder and rainstorms came and blew tarp off the house. Guess what? Rain poured in the house...down the walls, on the carpets; had to cover personal belongings, move furniture, etc. Not only once, but twice the rains came and blew off the tarp. Wait! That's not all...there's more. The tarp had holes! The storm again filled my house with water. Summer time and no roof on the house means no air conditioning. Instead of repairs, I got MOLD! They have the nerve to say they have finished the job although they have not replaced insulation back in the roof, replaced soffits, and more...I would never, ever, hire this firm nor their subcontractors to do anything...not even clean the gutters and did I tell you...the damaged gutters are still hanging.

Great service on my first job with CTI. They investigated an exterior leak, communicated what they found, and took multiple steps to patch it up. Thank you!

We live in a townhome area and had called to report our issue with our front and back gutters in our townhome, which were set incorrectly due to poor workmanship of the original home builders. Water was going everywhere except in our actual gutters! We were referred to CTI by our HOA, and emailed them a description and a video to show our problem. An appointment was made for us that same week in the morning.

The technician and his assistant came out right on time, as promised. After we walked him through our house to show our issues, he pointed out to us that more more serious fixes was required. Fortunately, he was able to come back with the necessary parts in less than an hour and immediately went to work. In less than an hour, they were already done and walked us through their work. Problems solved!

I commend CTA Property Services for resolving our issue to our complete satisfaction. They were considerate and professional with us the whole way, and took the time to explain more of the problem and show us how they fixed it. The only thing I would have wanted for giving them a 5-star review is if their HR person followed up with me to ask how my service was.

The worst company I have dealt with in ages! Taped up my house like they were gonna start work over a month ago and have never returned! It’s almost Christmas now so you know CTI won’t be back until 2025 if I am lucky.
