So, I wanted to just take a second to give a shout out to Emerald Energy NC.

They did such an awesome job getting us set up with a solar array for our home and it was an absolute pleasure dealing with them from start to finish.
They are professional, hardworking and even took the time to put my LED flood lamp bulbs in since I don’t have an extension ladder yet.
If you are looking to go solar in the triangle area, give John and Justin a call at Emerald Energy. Cannot recommend these guys enough!

The guys at Emerald Energy could not have been any more professional and helpful. My wife and I went in fairly unknown about Solar and what was needed. John and the crew were there every step of the way. John was always accessible via text/call/email when a question arose. Install process took about 2-3 days. Guys were clean and through. No debris/trash left in the yard or around the house.

Very professional management Team and installation crew! The solar panels and supporting equipment work great. No problems after 1 year. The app makes it easy to track your home electricity consumption and solar production. The pre-install estimate for my energy savings looks to be accurate within 1 to 2%. We can expect a 5 to 7 year payoff based on 2024 energy prices. As energy prices go up, so does the value of the solar panels. Very satisfied and an excellent investment!

Great company and great staff! I chose Emerald Energy over other vendors. John traveled a couple hours to the site to spec out a system and to educate me on the process. The installation was smooth with a polite and professional installation crew. Call this company, you won't be disappointed.

Had my solar system for about 4-5 years now. Possibly the largest homeowner array in Wake Electric system.
Installation was relatively uneventful, some delays with COVID supply challenges. Emerald was open book and met the expectations they could control.
Nothing is perfect, we have had some service failures with the system. Emerald had again been transparent in discussing issues and aggressively works to solve them. We haven’t had to pay a penny so far for system maintenance.
Mostly negative electricity bills, Wake Electric is getting used to me calling to clear my credits.

John and his team did fantastic work with the installation of the 10 Kw solar system. The work has been through, clean and complete. Communication has been great from start to finish with the process explained every step of the way. John and Justin were patient and very helpful with the system design, HOA approval, permitting and city inspection. They gave me the best deal by far!! Excellent experience throughout and I cannot recommend them enough. I will come back to them for any future projects .They went over and above my expectations!!

We've experienced nothing but great service from Emerald Energy, from the solar sizing/layout stage, installation, Wake County inspection, all the way through to the rebate application process. Big props to Justin for his expert guidance at every step of the way in getting our 11.4 kW system up and running.
We had a brief scare when we failed solar inspection due to a previous error made by HVAC installers near our electrical panel, which almost resulted in the solar project not finishing by end of year and us losing the solar tax credit. However, Justin went above and beyond and convinced the HVAC installers to quickly (within a day or two) come out and correct the problem. We are thankful for his timely intervention at that critical juncture!
The Emerald Energy installation team did a great job, and the panels look really slick. All in all, they are an excellent company you can trust to get the job done right.

I had issues with my inverter and messaged John and team. They have quickly replaced both the inverters and was able to get the system running.

Very professional install, and John provided excellent service with his indepth expertise in this field, and was able to tailor project to better suit our needs.Very upfront with the cost, time table and all of the in's and outs. John has always answered questions that I had and always took care of any request very quickly. Me and four of my neighbors all went with John after talking with more than 2 dozen companies, and our choice turned out to be an good one. And excellent warranty added for peace of mind. Would definitely recommend John and his Emerald Energy company to be the go to place for Solar projects, and the service and pricing is way better than any others in market.

The installation staff was also very good, very kind, and I felt safe, letting them in my house as they worked in the attic. They cleaned up for themselves as well. Very professional.

The panels that they chose blended pretty good with my house, and unless you look for it, it’s kind of hard to tell. I am also lucky to have black roof as well.

John was very flexible and said he wasn't locked into a manufacturer, which I appreciate. He said he just wanted us to be fully pleased with the system, which we totally are! Emerald Energy was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. They had a short timeline due to the roofer and the deadline for some tax and power company credits. They handled all of the permits and finished the job on time. Whenever a problem arises they promptly and accurately take care of it. John Leonard and the entire crew from Emerald Energy crew were truly amazing to work with start to finish. From the first phone call when I was scoping out my 11kw solar project John answered the phone on a weekend and gave me a ton of information. Very communicative, straightforward honest and easy to work with. When I got competitive bids from other providers Emerald still came in with best price. He helped guide me through entire process with Duke Energy (utility) on getting the ($6,000!!!) credit they offered. He also walked me through using the digital app to track production and getting me financing options. The system is now meeting all of my monthly energy needs in our 4000 sqft house in Raleigh. He also installed a high speed electric vehicle charger in my garage for a small add-on to the contract at my request. Cannot write more highly of these guys. Thank you John and Team.

Best investment we ever made. Just viewed our June electric bill. We actually sent more power to the electric grid than we used thanks to our Emerald Energy net metering solar system. Our bill was zero for electricity but, $11.25 for taxes and fees, somethings you just can't escape.

John's crew traveled over 300 miles round-trip and installed the 37-panel system all in one day. Who does that! What a company! The guys worked like a well-oiled freight train. I was highly impressed with their demeanor, they never swore and always thanked each other upon receiving help or when asking for additional materials. A top notch professional installation crew.

I researched solar products and companies for months before requesting 3 quotes. Emerald Energy was by far the best Price,
Selection of Products and Reputation, hands down. If I text John or Thomas with a question about the Solar Edge dashboard (3rd party monitoring App) they always answer the same day. I believe in supporting the small business company who believe in Integrity and customer
service. They will not let you down.

Picking Emerald Energy for our solar panel installation proved to be a great decision for us. They were responsive, completed the job as fast as the process would allow, and did it all without any drama. We are very happy with the end result.

We decided at the beginning of March to purchase a solar panel system. I requested proposals via solar web sites and also contacted a few companies directly. When it was all said and done, I had collected proposals from 9 companies—mostly the usual suspects of NC installers but also a couple of national installers. NC is fortunate to have a handful of extremely good solar installers to chose from, and I narrowed the field down to 3 of them after the first pass. I eliminated the national companies for not having the important local knowledge (one incorrectly told me that due to fire codes my roof was only big enough for about a dozen panels), and I eliminated a couple of the NC installers for pressuring me.

To make the final selection from my 3 favorite companies, I formulated a list of system specs including a desire to have a system capable of producing 13,000 kWh per year 5 years after installation. All three companies did a great job of updating their proposals to meet my requirements, but Emerald Energy really did the best job of understanding my desires and putting together a great proposal. What impressed me is that Thomas C. figured out that he could meet my requirement without even using the roof over the garage of our house. We ended up with a very tidy layout of panels filling up the main portion of our roof and keeping the street view of our house very attractive. When I told Emerald that I thought orienting all the panels vertically would produce the best looking results, they took it to heart and I never had to remind them of that request again. When I specified a future energy production goal, they gave me a great price on today's best panel, REC Alpha Black. Not only did that allow for fewer panels, but the REC Alpha Black has a great specification for its yearly degradation so it will still meet my energy production goal 5 years from now. In other words, they met all my requests and did it for a really great price.

The company president, John L, was involved in the whole process and I was especially pleased that he visited my house in person. Doing so put Emerald in the best position to design the best system for our situation. John knocked out the city planning approval and HOA approval with ease. Having John involved so much in the process gave me confidence that everything was going to go smoothly. Our 2-day installation went smoothly thanks to Osmar and Jordan. I asked them to see if they could fit any more panels up their once they got up on my roof with a tape measure, and I was glad when they found a spot for a 28th panel. Justin D got me though the inspection process and finalized with Duke Energy very quickly. When I expressed concern about a caulking gap, Justin climbed through the inner recesses of our attic and got made it right. I appreciate the time that Justin took to teach me about the system and describe the future upgrade options if we go for battery backup in the future.

By the way, I thought all 3 of my final selections were happy to compete with each other on a fair basis, but one of the other companies really showed their teeth when I informed them that I had picked Emerald. That CEO got involved and resorted to hard-sell scare tactics. It just took a bit of research on my part to weed out his meritless claims. I'm so glad that I went with Emerald who won our business by putting together a great proposal after taking the time to understand our particular situation. Within 2 months of selecting them, our system was up and running.

Companies in our area were unable (or unwilling) to work behind our previous installer. I spoke with Justin and had a great conversation with him about what we needed (and what I wanted). He provided a lot of good information with no pressure at all at any time!
After I did some more research, I called Justin back and told him that we would like to add the Franklin Whole Home System to our existing 9kW solar array.
Even though we are 1.5 hours away from their business, Justin came out to do a site survey and determine the best location for the installation. It was too late to schedule the installation before the end of the year but they were here, on site the very first week of the new year!
The installation crew arrived early and were very thorough, doing a quality job at each step! They also did not seem mind the meriad of questions that I threw at them while they worked.
They worked non-stop from the moment they arrived 'till they cleaned everything up and left late in the afternoon.
Justin came back the next day to finish the connection, do the confirmation, and show me how it all worked.
In all aspects it was a very good experience - from the first call to the job completion. Without hesitation, I would recommend them to anyone needing solar!

I did a lot of research before I finally made my solar purchase, and I am glad I did. Justin from Emerald Energy when out of his way to make sure all my questions were answered. See I was about an hour and forty-five minutes away from them, and he still came to see me. I knew what I wanted just needed someone to design and make recommendations. See I pay very close attention to detail, and I wanted to make sure my solar system was going to grow with my electrical needs. I am on my fourth month now with solar, and very happy with how my system is preforming.
