Mike installed furnace and was on time, professional & patient with all my questions & concerns. Scott was accessible for follow up concern. I will recommend State Heating to anyone needing HVAC service.

I have been a State Heating customer for many years. It's a great company and I have sent many referrals. Over the years, Scott has installed furnaces, air conditioners, thermostats, etc. in my double house. He has always done an excellent job and the company stands behind its products 100%.

Scott the owner is a great guy and knows his stuff. They put in my new furnace 2 years ago and gave me a military discount as well. Also a year later when I got a new smart thermostat he came right over and put it in for no charge good customer services as I will use for all my homes needs.

Warranty company had them come to check out my a/c leak. I watched everything and discussed when the tech was here, who told me that the issue was due to age and rust which inevitably happens with old metal drip pans. But the report they sent to the warranty company was entirely different and said that there was poor maintenance and improper install. I called and asked to please see the photos showing the “improper install.” If my issue was going to not be covered by the warranty company, that’s fine but it seemed shady as he said nothing about that at my house. They refused to show me ANY evidence of improper install. I had it disputed it and both follow up companies confirmed install was not only just fine, pretty impressive actually.

They might be able to fix things (I wouldn’t know). But I’m not surprised they have so many negative reviews with no ethics.

We had a HORRIBLE experience with Scott from State Heating & Air. We had a warranty furnace repair through HSA that he dragged on for over a week while continuously lying to us about authorizations from the warranty company. He kept saying they didn't authorize him to pick up the part, that it was a 7 hour drive from him, and other lies, then dodged our phone calls. Every time we spoke to the warranty company to complain, they'd say the part was ready, close by, and that he was mistaken. They'd call him, say it was all sorted out, and that we'd have to wait 24 hours with him not responding before switching contractors. He'd answer their calls at the 23rd hour and then keep us waiting longer. There are kids in the house, and the highs were in the mid 30s. He made multiple promises to the warranty company then kept delaying and refused to answer our calls. Absolutely unacceptable. Do not use this man unless you want to freeze to death while waiting while he lies to you repeatedly.

Just got State Heating from Angies List and Scott called me back in 5 minutes of checking out referrals. I was going to have another company out but decided Scott sounded more knowledgeable and responsive. When Scott came out he was great and took care of the problem ASAP and reasonable. He also gave me advice on my other furnace. Great guy, great company. I am now going to use his company for my 2 commercial locations. Highly recommended. Glad I found this company.

I was connected with this company via American Home Shield as one of their best providers. Scott the owner did get the warranty company to send me a new furnace quickly and arrived to install it quickly but that is where the quality and follow ups stopped.
I am not one to right review when I have had issues with a service provider but i have given State Heating and Air 6 weeks to get back with me on multiple concerns with the out of scope quote they and the home warranty had me agree to above and beyond the standard install the the home warranty company covered. The out of scope was almost 1700 out of pocket for me and with State Heating and Air's earlier responsiveness I agreed. I was told by the warranty company and State heating and air that i would also be getting 96% efficiency furnace but received a 92% which doesn't come with the energy credit that the 96 does and that i heard about from State heating and air. Which was a definite let down. I understand State heading and air does not determine the equipment i receive from the Home Warranty company.
This out of scope included multiple adjustments since the brand i received was not the one I had originally. But it contained multiple things that they did not do during the install. I was told by the installing technician the moment he was about to leave the house after install that I had to pay right then, (not a moment before). I had questions about the items on the quote that were not needed or completed but paid in good faith noting some of the contingencies on the document i signed and the tech said he would go over them with his boss. I can only assume the quote was made as a standard they quote to the warranty company to obtain the amount they would like to make on the install instead of the warranty company's program price they signed up for. Since I cannot get them to call me back to discuss and resolve, this is what i have to assume as I have received very little details from State Heating and Air regarding the charges in question. One they did refund me for was 195 worth of carbon monoxide detectors that I have already on each floor of my home, two of which are passed on your way to my furnace from the front door. This is the only one I have been able to discuss with Scott the owner. Whom i was only able to get a hold of once regarding these matters.
All my other calls have either been to leave voicemails or to the office who say they see my calls and will have the owner Scott call me as he is the only one who can go over the overcharges. Examples were 150 to run grounding for my furnace which the installing tech confirm my unit was already grounded properly. Another was 625 for Duct work on the Feed and Return. The furnace was directly under my condenser and the tech supported the condenser and ducting with a strap, slid out the old furnace and slid the new unit in its place after only the second try. I was amazed at how easy they made it look. I am not amazed or pleased at the lack of State Heating and Air's response and accountability to the overcharges they billed me. I see they have responded to reviews on these sites so i'm hoping this does the trick.

UPDATE 2/26 - I updated the star rating. Scott the owner call and scheduled a visit 2 days later to look over my installation and go over the scope of work details. He confirm on his arrival that the furnace I received was able to be replaced without any additional duct work modifications as most of the furnaces need. He pulled up his invoicing system and confirmed on the spot that he was refunding my additional out of scope regarding the duct work that was originally quoted. He also apologized for my calls and attempts to contact them not getting through and assured me this is no way changes the standard warranty he give to all customers he installs for. Thank You State Heating and AC for making the trip to make this right!

Our furnace was 50+ years old when Scott came out to inspect it. After showing me the rotting metal that were the baffels (heat exchanger), we decided that we needed to replace furnace immediately. Scott had the new furnace and his team of techs out that same day. Great job! Good team work! And good customer service. Strongly recommend.

10* to State. The team is awesome and what a team they are. We worked together almost a year against the warranty company, delivery, out of make model, State stayed with me through the process and we never took our frustrations out on each other - but yes against the warranty company.
While waiting for a new unit, State was so great i even had then do other work in my home and get a quote on upcoming project with gas fireplace.

We needing to replace a broken furnace in our new home. To keep it simple, my home warranty would not cover it because the owner Scott told them it didn't work at all (the heat exchange was cracked) and the unit still powered on and the blower worked. However because he told them that they would not cover it. This was the start of winter so I had no choice but to have the unit financed so they would replace it at my expense instead of going through the home warranty. I paid $4k for a unit that pushes about 1/2 the BTU of my old unit and from what I can tell sells for about $1,500. It isn't even rated for the area its covering. Then it took hit "technicians almost an entire day to install it and get the thermostat working. They eventually had to call what seemed to be a senior tech over to help them. Once it was done we realized a few weeks later that we were smelling stagnant air from the basement and I examined the area and found they had cut out and removed the return duct and never reinstalled it on the new unit. So it was pulling air from the basement and our return was CUT out with the support pieces still hanging and a big hole in the basement duct. I called to get the return put back in and was told Scott would need to take a look. He came out and weeks later had still not called me to setup getting the work done. I called back again and they got ahold of Scott and he quoted me like 1800 or something stupid. I practically hung up. READ THESE REVIEWS! Go with a trusted company that will not screw you over like State did to me and others.

State Heating & Air Conditioning did an amazing job replacing the old, but well kept gravity furnace with a new, wonderful furnace AND central air unit in one day!

The crew was very professional, informative and helpful, going above and beyond! They made sure that I was satisfied with the placement and installation of the equipment, even making sure that the plants that had to be moved didn't die.

They cleaned up well and provided helpful information regarding how to best maintain my units for efficiency before they left. They were very, very thorough!

I highly recommend Scott and crew of State Heating & Air!

    Most sincerely,

    Kim M.

This company are total thieves. Installed a brand new unit with then through my warranty company and they made me pay $2600 despite the fact that my unit was covered through my home warranty company. They held the unit hostage and forced me to pay $2600 despite the fact that they got paid from the home warranty company. The unit stopped working after a month called then back to come out and fix the problem because they had gave me a one year warranty on the work they did and they are trying to Extort another $250 for something they got paid for. Look at other reviews. Do not use these thieves. They do very bad work never answer the phone, you would have to call 20 times to get a phone call back. Look at other reviews. This is a horrible 2 man operation that are nothing but con artists. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. No where near professional . They are nothing but thrives

What does exceeding ones expectations really mean? Scott installed a new Furnace and A/C unit two years ago. We were not home last summer so this was our first year using the A/c. We orig had a four ton unit, Scott suggested we install a three ton unit as my house size calls for it and it would dehydrate as well as cool Fact checking supported his suggestion so that is what we did. Well the long and short of it was the house was hot and could not cool below 80 degrees on the hottest days. (Sun beats down all day, no shade) Scott came and checked out the situation. He returned replacing the Blower motor on the Furnace, New Coil and a Four Ton A/C unit. My house is now perfect on the hottest days. Scott accepted responsibility stating it was his suggestion to go with the smaller unit and he absorbed the cost. I would recommend Scott and State Heating and Cooling to anyone needing their services.
This exceeded my expectations and would exceed any reasonable minded person. Honest people do still exist. Call these guys when the need comes up, you'll be glad you did! 5 STARS

Warranty company had them come out to fix our furnace. Very very unprofessional. Took them almost 2 months to fix our furnace. Not good at communicating at all. They had to come out 4 different times and eveytime they came out something else was wrong with the furnace. Acted like they didn't know what they were doing. 10/10 would not recommend to anyone!

They have major communication issues. I had a full furnace and air replacement through HSA warranty. It took four days of ME calling them to get a final price. Day of the install came, Scott called that morning to let me know the air conditioning unit was damaged. It happens, wasn't upset by that. The guys came out and did a great job on the furnace and getting everything prepped for the air conditioning. Scott calls again after the weekend to let me know they have another unit, and I should be hearing from the office the following morning to schedule the install. I never heard from the office in the morning. I had to call in the afternoon. Laura just now told me they have not yet been able to locate a replacement unit. I understand demand is high, COVID has things all messed up. But now I'm being told two different things by two different people. The installers seem to do very good work (sorry I didn't catch their names). But if you're hoping for open lines of communication, I would look elsewhere.

They fixed my broken furnace through my home warranty. They were out the next day after my claim was filed and had the part to fix the furnace the day after that. Nicholas was the technician and he did a great job. Was able to diagnose the problem quickly and the repair was done quickly as well. He was very pleasant and came off like he knew his stuff.

Scott of State Heating & Air Conditioning came over to evaluate our steam boiler for replacement as part of a home warranty claim after a bad experience with an earlier contractor. He worked with the home warranty company to make sure our claim was approved. But more importantly, he responded to all of my questions, some of which were quite technical, and was willing to give his honest advice based on his years of experience. Boilers are a big investment, and I appreciate all the time that he spent walking through the install process, the sizing, and so on. The price was competitive with other proposals I received. While I ultimately went with a different company, I wouldn't hesitate to consider Scott and State Heating again in the future.

This is the worst company I’ve had to deal with. Firstly, the crew has no idea what they’re doing. Scott doesn’t want to answer his phone and help. And when he does actually answer, he tries to make you feel you stupid, when he’s wrong. His guys have had to come out multiple times to fix what they’ve messed up and still I keep finding more. They lied about the unit they installed, it’s not the brand they claimed it was. I had to have a whole other company come out to fix what they didn’t. They also put a hole in my gas line. I will NEVER use state heating and air again for anything and I suggest you choose a different company.

Scott is totally unprofessional, demeaning, and rude. He lied to me, my home warranty company, and my husband. Told me I needed a whole new AC unit, lied to my warranty company and they denied the claim, then tried to scam me in to buying a new unit through his company. Called another company out and just needed a $20 part to fix. Scott is a fraud and no one should do business with them!

This guy is the best of the worse, could not provide proper estimate neither customer service, just wasted my time and regret to sign with them. The management just denying their fault y mean people, cannot even hold the conversation. On the photo: filter installed into the furnace how about that

Scott came out and fixed my issue quickly and reasonably. I accidentally gave him more than requested and he honestly returned and gave me the correct change. It was a very positive experience
