This team is fantastic! We had a full sewer line replacement done. Drew came out and explained the process and next steps. He was easy to communicate with, answered questions honestly and politely as well as timely. The crew on site were respectful, neat and put the yard back together great after some unexpected digging needed to happen (no fault of theirs.) At the end of the job, Cory came by and looked everything over as well as did a final scope so we could see the completed work. Highly recommend!

I have been meaning to write a review of this company for over a year, so they probably don't even remember coming out to my house at this point. I had seen a rat hole by the side of my water meter down by the street. My neighbor also had one in the parking strip. I was sure that I needed to replace my sewer line and was dreading the price tag. I called Black Rock Underground, and for no charge at all, they performed a sewer scope and said that there was actually no problem! No charge, just good news and advice on how to keep the rats from going down by the water main! Thanks so much, Black Rock Underground! To be sure that if I do have an issue, I'll be reaching out and working with this team!

Black Rock Underground has experience working directly with the City of Tigard and were able to schedule our install with a 4 week notice.

They provided excellent customer service via email and phone. During installation, at our house, the install crew clearly communicated unforeseen complications and necessary changes, while maintaining dialogue with the City Inspectors.

The technicians/operators that performed the installation were knowledgeable and courteous. The team cleaned up at the end of each work day, as well as properly cleaned up at the end of the job.

Overall a very professional team delivering a superior experience and finish.

Black Rock is very experienced, knowledgeable and prompt. Corey is very responsive and is willing to answer any and all questions. They repaired our exterior sewer line, which required concrete sidewalk repair and landscaping repairs after the ground was dug up. They did a great job. We highly recommend them.

I'd like to leave a more positive review, as the work I hired Black Rock for, best I can tell so far, seems to be adequate. But my confidence in their work was shaken by them not checking on or pulling proper permits regarding a tree that is near my sewer line, along with providing many shifting opinions about whether the tree should be removed. They promised documented follow up with the city regarding the tree (in case I get fined) and also regarding the condition of the sewer line on the city-side. Once my very large check was cashed I never heard another thing from them and it's been months. Crossing my fingers that the work they did replacing my sewer and water lines was better than this...

Black Rock just replaced our sewer line and we couldn't be happier with the service they provided from start to finish. After receiving several bids, I knew Black Rock was the company to go with. Drew initially came out and although a sewer scope had already been done, he did it again to be sure there wasn't going to be any unexpected surprises for his crew. After assessing the scope of work he answered all of my questions and quickly followed up with a bid and date of service for the job. The crew that came out completely exceeded all expectations as well. Rather than using a small bucket tractor to dig out the access hole as originally discussed, the guys dug it out by hand which saved some of our turf and a few bushes in the way. How awesome is that?! The crew was very professional, thorough, and considerate in returning everything back to its original state before the project started. They even threw some grass seed down! We are building a laundromat in Hillsboro and we needed to upgrade our sewer line. We received multiple bids and Black Rock's came out the best. It just got better from there. Cory contacted all the other businesses to explain what was going to happen and answer any questions. Chris managed the crew and they started the project on time and finished it early. They stayed on budget as well.
It was so fantastic working with them that we immediately hired them to do some interior excavation for our washing machine drain lines. Again, they beat all the other quotes without even knowing the other amounts.

TLDR: great company with great people who do great work!

Story time: the rain gutter hasn't been draining to the curb, and during heavy rains it would gush back near the front door where the down spout meets the in-ground drain pipe. Called West Side Drain & Noble Septic (another good company recommended by my plumber) couldn't clear it with waterjetting, the camera scope showed pretty much a solid root mass, and recommended Blackrock. A very awesome 3-men crew came out a week after making the online appt, and they did an amazing job, cutting concrete, digging up the old pipes, and now I have a clear pipe path and ready for our next rain storm. I felt like a kid watching grown men work: backhoe digging in my front yard, giant wet saw cutting the driveway, busting concrete, etc. It was VERY exciting! I hope this is the first and last time I need to do this :D Thank you Black Rock Underground!

I recently had a complete sewer line installed at my home. Black Rock had been highly recommended by top producing realtor friends in Portland. Their bid was concise, the work was performed on schedule and responses to questions were immediate.

Installation was on an extremely rainy day with it being necessary to bring a backhoe across a very soggy lawn. They properly protected the lawn and cleaned the entire area, including the street, at completion.

My standards are very high and they met, or exceeded, all!

I can't say enough good things about Black Rock Underground. Our house was serviced by an aging Septic system and we needed to connect to Sewer. But the job was rather complex involving decommissioning our old septic system, running a very long length of pipe underground and work in a Sensitive Environmental Corridor - within feet of a stream at the bottom of a steep ravine.

Black Rock was extremely helpful through the 10 month permitting process. Their expertise and knowledge was invaluable. They bored the almost 200 feet of pipe underground without need for a lengthy open trench and minimized impact to the stream and environmental corridor in which they were forced to work; resulting in environmental and cost savings for us. Our environmental consultant was also impressed with Black Rock for proactively bidding this technique. He stated few contractors employ this for a residential job and fewer would be able to pull this off within the confines Black Rock was forced to work.

Black Rock communicated throughout the lengthy review, permit process and job. They scheduled our job quickly once our job cleared environmental review and showed up when scheduled. Their crew was polite, thorough and knowledgable. They completed the complex job quickly and left our site (and especially our back yard) in better shape than when they arrived. I would use Black Rock again in the future and would recommend them to anyone needing sewer or underground work!!

Black Rock and Cory the owner did a great job with my project installing a new sewer line and decommissioning an old septic. They worked in an incredibly fast and efficient manner devoting all their resources to getting the job done right and on budget. They do a lot of work with Washington County and Clean Water Services thus they seem to know a lot of people and a lot about the system which is great for the customer. Highly recommend!

Jared, Garrett and Antione arrived promptly first thing in the morning to replace our sewer line. They explained what they were going to do and told us when we could expect to be without water. They were very nice and took great care of our lawn, trees and shrubs. It was a large residential job that we expected to take three days. Instead it will be completed in 1 1/2 days. We were pleasantly surprised and impressed by their efficiency and care.
