The worst customer service ever!!! The plumber installed a water heater and then left with a leak. When I called to get them to come out and repair the work they wanted me to pay another service call fee!!! Absolutely horrible service and they will not warranty the work

This company was sent to us by First American Home Warranty. It was so bad that we just decided to forget about the warranty, and paid another plumbing company to do the work. We would never like to have anything to do this company any more.

Ordered a part not available anywhere else and they got it for me. The store itself has a wide array of parts making all kinds of repair super easy. Highly recommended.

We are so impressed with this company. Andrew replaced our sink and the faucet has never worked better! The employees were professional, polite, timely and very clean! Beautiful job!!

Great customer service. I came in with a old faucet part with no words or writing on it the guy at the counter knew exactly what it was and was able to rebuild it on the spot. Try getting that at a H-depot or Lowess lol. Thanks again.

Called in to get an estimate on a commercial sink install. I have 8 separate spaces that all need large sinks. Operator tells me they don't do estimates on things like this. Called 3 other local companies that were happy to help.

    Top quality people.
THE PLUMBING WORKS did a great job.
DOUG was very helpful with all scheduling matters.
ALLAN did an excellent job with the repairs.
We definitely recommend this contractor for plumbing-related repairs.

Just wanted to say thanks to Tony Jr. I went in looking for an oddball bathtub spout which he did not have. He took the time to find one locally for me and after I bought it he checked to make sure it would work, and it did. This house is 75 plus years old and plumbing parts can be very hard to find. So once again THANK YOU! Very much appreciated.

Please read this review before you think about using this business. First off I want to state that I am not a complainer nor am I the type of person who would try to hurt someone's business by giving a bad review that is not deserved. However, my experience with this business is the worst example of unethical behavior from a business I have ever experienced.

Initially used these guys to fix leaking toilet, charged $120. A month later toilet is leaking again so call to tell them the problem still exists. Guy comes out and takes 45 minutes to auger the toilet. Even showed us Youtube videos while repairing the toilet. I naively think they will accept responsibility for the problem so wasn't fused on how long it was taking him. Ask plumber if current issue is same as old issue. He is unsure. However, but charges me anyway. When I ask him why I was charged 1.5 hours work for 45 minutes for a problem that was not fixed first time he tells me they start charging when they leave the shop. I live at the most a 7 minute drive from the shop but apparently it took this guy about 30 minutes to drive 2 miles.

Call the shop obviously incredibly frustrated and speak to owner, ask him why 1: I am being charged for issue that was not fixed first time, 2: being charged for 1.5 hours when guy was here for 45 mins taking his time in the process. Not once was the business owner interested in listening to my complaint. His only concern was to avoid responsibility by telling me that problem was unrelated.

Two days later toilet is leaking again, call the store and the owner again not interested in listening to me, constantly cuts me off and speaks over the top of me. Tells me it is a main line problem and I will have to pay if I want it fixed. Tells me that he doesn't think it is worth his while to help me because I am disappointed with this service. I was simply shocked. The owner who should care more than anyone about how his customers feel in regards to the service his business provides does not care and actively tells me to go away.

I advise the business owner that I will share my experience on google reviews and he tells me that he doesn't care what people on the internet think as they are only 1% of his business.

Honestly surprised that a local, small business owner would see their customers as short-term opportunities and not long-term investments.

Will never let myself be fleeced by these guys again and sincerely hope you use someone else.

So i don't normally leave reviews but this place and their professionalism/customer service is atrocious.

I went throufhmy homewarranty about sinks being clogged well Doug apparently the owner calls me asks me about the work order which apparently was only for the kitchen sink and not the bathroom sinks, tells me to call my home warranty and have them update the order as he will only do whats on the order.

So i call my home warranty and update the orser. Doug then calls me back about the new order and said that he couldnt possibly fit all that in the friday appointment and that itd have to be for monday intead. I said i didnt know about switching the appointment to monday and to let me speak with my husband well life got in the way and i wasnt able to call them back thinking well thatll just keep my friday appointment for the kitchen sink.... welp WRONG. that cancelled all appointments.

I contacted the office today when i hadnt heard anything and the appointment window was near an end i got a rude as hell dispatcher DJ who cut me off during my question and explanation raised his voice said that not what doug said and i advised i didnt care for a he said she said situation to which he raised his voice called me rude and that no one would be coming out EVER. i advised i wanted to speak to the manager when i was ingormed doug owned the spot. I asked for doug to call me back.
Doug calls the call is cordial and he calls me a liar and that he already called my home warranty yeaterday to advise of the hassle of the situation. And that he aggreed with DJ that the job was too much hassle to come out and disconnected the call.

The is the rudest most unprofessional company i have ever had the unfortunate luck of dealing with.

I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. If i could there would be no stars in my review...what so ever.

Doug Jr. was very nice and helpful. He got me the right parts for a dripping bath faucet and also offered some great advice on preventing scale and rust accumulating when I turned the whole house water back on. I'll definitely be back!

The office staff was responsive and Jim, the technician, did a great job in replacing our water heater. The cost was below the estimate, and we are most satisfied.

Had an old wall mount toilet with a leak in Yachats. Plumber said you can't get a part for these any more and I need a new $600+ toilet. Went into Plumbing Works on a whim and came out with the necessary part for under $2.00!!! Needless to say, I was very pleased and appreciative.

I would not use these folks again.
Our water heater died I called them and asked them about the advantages of replacing the 50 gal. unit with a 40 gal. unit. I was told that the smaller tank would cost less and would cost less to operate. They did not tell me that these savings would be more than offset by the additional cost of them having to build some kind of special platform on which to set the new tank (to raise it to the same height as the old tank) and other time and labor costs. I was told about these things when I was presented with the bill.
A long, drawn out and expensive proposition; not like the plumbers I used to work with.
I suggest you read the reviews on Yelp. Another dissatisfied customer used the term "surly" to describe these folks, and I agree.

Had a water leak and called Plumbing Works in the AM. We got same day service. Because we had to have the city turn the water off in order for the repair to be made, Plumbing Works made an extra effort to repair the leak early enough in the day, so that we could have the water turned back on during regular business hours (this avoided an extra charge). Jim was the first plumber to arrive, replaced a turnoff valve and started to repair a joint leak, when a loose pipe in the ground was discovered. I ask if I could do the digging to find where the loose pipe was. I was allowed to do that. I called Plumbing Works back, about two hours after Jim left and they sent another plumber (Dave) to finish the work. Everyone involved was very efficient and professional. THANK YOU Plumbing Works for the prompt and excellent work.

Gave me an estimate for $2,037 to replace all my plumbing. I waited a month to save money as I had told them I would do. I then decided to have them do just the basics for $400 vs a full replacement and they were glad to do the work although never gave me a written estimate. The day before they were to do the $400 worth of repairs I was told by another company that I had a leak in the water pipe underground in the yard. After finding this out I asked the plumbing works if they could replace the pipe underground and go ahead with the first estimate to just get everything fixed all at once. They told me they wouldn’t work with me due to “too many red flags” and for not hiring them fast enough with the first estimate. The boy at the counter said they didn’t know how to fix the underground pipe, I personally ruined his upcoming day, and told me to leave the shop and to find another plumber all while being quite condescending. Seemed to come out of nowhere, really. I’d suggest using the more reputable and responsible companies in town.

I take the writing of business reviews very seriously as I know how much people rely on these now. I also aim to be very accurate and also wait a few days for the company to right the wrong, rather than posting out of my initial disappointment.

We received a verbal bid from The Plumbing Works after being connected with them through our home warranty, while preparing our home for sale. We approved the bid and scheduled the work. They never sent an invoice for the bid visit, which was only $75. The other companies that we were working with, once we agreed to hire them, just rolled the nominal bid fee into the final invoice which we paid all at once. (Most applied it to the work.) When we didn’t get an invoice we assumed since we hired them they were doing the same thing.

As far as the repairs, we were advised that we could pay by credit card before hand via phone or in person on the day of service. (We have this in writing). After thinking about it, we found it odd that they wanted us to pay for all the work before they did it. Materials would make sense, but not the actual work. We had initially considered calling it in, but decided to wait since the work hadn’t been done, plus the job was still far out. No indication was given that there was urgency behind this mentioned pre-payment option. My husband even had a lengthy conversation with someone from the staff discussing the work we were hiring them to do. Nothing was mentioned then about any urgency or concerns with our job.

We received one garbled message from them before the holiday weekend, which sounded like they were calling to schedule the work. (It had already been scheduled). I couldn’t make out the callers name but did hear the company name and “schedule”. Before I could return the one message they left this Tuesday morning, they called our realtor and canceled our appointment, which was still a week away. They stated it was because we hadn’t called in pre-payment. Even though they had told us we could pay on the day the work was done. I have personally known our realtor (top in Lane County) for more than two decades and know she is honest.

Plumbing works has now put us in a very bad bind, as the sale on our house is about to close, but it is contingent to these repairs being done, and now other plumbers are booked too far out for our timeline. Our realtor, who is also shocked any company would do this, even offered to pay the owner immediately over the phone herself and the owner claimed he didn’t feel comfortable doing the work because we hadn’t returned the one message or sent in the $75 (which they never sent an invoice on and still haven’t.)

We all still can’t figure out what the owners problem was? If it was money, she offered to pay while he was on the phone??? The only idea we could come up with is maybe they underbid the job? Have a huge cash flow problem?? No clue, just speculating.

So consumers considering using The Plumbing Works, beware. Ask for your bid in writing and repeatedly ask to be invoiced as they don’t seem to provide either. (Even after all this, we still have never gotten an invoice). Also, know that even if they make an appt for your work to be done at their first available opening, and tell you that you can pay then, it is not the case. You should be willing to prepay them weeks before they do the work. Don’t you wish you got paid before you did your work? Plus, they may very well leave you with no one to do the work, and let you see just how unprofessional the owner is. It’s a shame, because his staff seemed very nice. We will not be recommending this company to anyone.

Update: We hired another plumber who did the work for the same price, but included two more sinks. Still have never received an invoice. The Owners responses to all his customers online pretty much sums up the service you will receive. We only had the extremely minimal contact with them as recounted above, so I have no clue how there can be red flags from that. I recommend asking for other options from your home warranty co.

As a DIY homeowner/plumber, I've found the people at The Plumbing Works to be lifesavers, generous and knowledgeable with information and products. Recently Doug Jr. helped me revive a pair of odd, almost-antique bathroom faucets. He's an expert.

These gents know their craft. I'm a first time home buyer. Over the years there have been several times where they have saved me a call to a plumber. They know their stuff and they have always been helpful. Doug in particular is awesome. Thanks Plumbing Works!

They installed our master bathtub handle incorrectly and used a faulty cartridge. I went to use my bathtub (for the first time since they touched it) 7 weeks later and noticed that the handle was installed upside down and would suck back in when I turned the water on. I called the next day and Doug, the owner refused to fix the problem because it was "past 30 days." He said he could turn the handle around but it wouldn't fix the problem - it needed a new cartridge. When I asked him if the average lifetime of a cartridge is 40ish days he said sarcastically, "I am not the manufacturer, ma'am." The owner was condescending and obviously not willing to stand by a faulty cartridge and handle that was installed incorrectly just over a month ago. Thanks, a pregnant Mom with three kids!

Update: Yes, several weeks later Doug, the owner, called me up and said that he and his technicians (all of the sudden) decided that they would fix the cartridge. Maybe after he noticed we left a bad review? Why does it take that to have good customer service and standby your work? We appreciate you coming out and fixing the problem - but you should of not been that rude and condescending.
