My AC system stopped working during this summer, my home was 100+ degrees and I got a recommendation for JCL heating and cooling from a friend. I called and he was there that same day! He was able to fix my AC and have it running in no time! Price was fair and he was super efficient! Most companies won’t come out until days or even weeks later!! so happy to have called this company and would absolutely recommend to anyone!

Tony and his team work hard. He's honest even when being so may cost him a job. Let me elaborate: I contacted Tony's company, JCL Heating and Cooling, straight from the web. I'd almost contracted with another company who had recommended that I save money and hassle and NOT GET a permit. I wasn't comfortable with that, and even though I knew I'd pay more for permitted work, I went ahead. So, the first question I had for Tony, and this was to test him, "Would you do the A/C job without pulling a permit?" He could have easily said, "Well, if that's what you want, we could do it." However, he said that he didn't work that way, and didn't do unpermitted work. Immediately, he had my attention. So, next came the estimate. After coming over to look things over, Tony came in with a very low estimate. I made sure that all the details were covered....quality of A/C, warranty, lineset quality, path of lineset through the house, start date, finish timeline, backflow drainage, ....everything I could think of. He checked off all the boxes, and still came in with a very low estimate! The crew got into the furnace, stacked it with the right coil, improved the position of the lineset by strapping it up to the floor joists, adding a new electrical box (for free), and installing this Amana A/C unit which is so quiet that you could take a daily nap next to it. The story doesn't stop there. In the process, Tony let me know that I had a leaking pipe down below, and get this, he offered to go down himself and fix it for free! That was probably a $300 bonus all by itself. This guy works super hard, keeps his word right down the line, and is flexible. On top of that, he lets the customer be totally in control. Right now, JCL Heating and Cooling is a young one truck outfit, but the way he's going, I'm positive they're going to get huge. If you have the chance, jump on board with your HVAC needs and you'll see what I mean.

Our furnace started having problems after the recent winter storm and we had JCL out to take a look. They were polite, professional and did a great job. If any friends or family of mine have HVAC issues in the future I'll be recommending JCL to them.

Our A/C went out and we decided that it was time for a new one (since we got 15 good years out of it). Tony was recommended to us and boy are we glad we called him. He was quick and efficient, and got our old system taken out, and a new one installed from start to finish it took about 5 hours. Tony is very personable, and his crew were fantastic. Tony and his team are responsive and communicate clearly. They service and replace furnaces. Replacement furnaces are reasonable priced as anyone I’ve seen. They also repair & install ductwork. As a real estate professional I trust JCL Heating will handle my job with care and professionalism.

My furnace died during the January 2024 ice storms. Tony and crew were able to squeeze in an appointment for me even with all the high demand, icy roads, and chaos around town. It took a couple days but I got a brand new furnace for a reasonable price (and with a warranty), and Tony was willing to work with me on a payment plan. I just turned on the A/C for the first time for the warm season and heard a high-pitched whistle coming from the unit. He stopped by, found a tiny air leak and fixed it for no charge! Highly recommend JCL for your HVAC needs.

Tony and David from JCL Heating and Cooling are awesome! They came out today to do a winter check up on my heat pump and indoor unit. They installed a new Nest thermostat and fixed a problem with my indoor unit. Very efficient and professional. They are a small business and are very fair priced. I would highly recommend them.

What a great company! Tony and his guys made space for us in their schedule, and rescued my family from this rotten heatwave. They were friendly and prompt and they went to work and got the job done right. They offered great service at a great price. Way better that dealing with the big guys that try to sell you the moon.

Our min-split compressor conked out in the middle of Portland's September heat wave. We called JCL and they were able to work us in to their schedule within 2 days. They arrived when they said they would and went to work immediately diagnosing the problem. Tony did an excellent job with the diagnosis and explaining the issue. They were able to make the fix in less than an hour. As an architect, I have worked with many subcontractors and JCL is a stellar organization. They deserve 6 stars! I can recommend them highly.

Anthony and his team worked really hard to get our furnace working. He communicated and was able to save us a bit on costs. Definitely a life saver, they were able to repair our furnace before the snow hit. Can thank you enough!

I got quotes from two other local "leading" hvac companies.

The first, if I had chose it, would have been nothing short of a "not fixed" disaster.

The second, if I had chose it, likely would have done a great job -- but would have charged me more than double what Tony quoted and charged.

Tony cut no corners, did the work with precision and care, is friendly and polite and warm hearted. He's my go-to hvac guy for as long as I own the house and live in Portland.
