J-Built is an independent and locally owned company. We contracted with Jonny to replace and repair the cement between the bricks on our back yard patio. He was consistently reliable, relentlessly hard-working, dedicated and careful with his work. The final result is first-class and displays his craftsmanship.

I had Johnny out to my home for a retaining wall and to repair some pavers in my backyard along with redoing the steps. The work turned out beautiful. I could not be happier with the work. After that work I had him come out to my coastal home for installation of a seating wall, stairs and pavers under the deck in the backyard. The work was amazing. Jonny and his partner Ben did a wonderful job on our retaining wall, granite and stepped path, and leveling out our patio. He is very professional to work with and a genuinely nice person. They were very communicative, allowed us to make some changes as the projects progressed, finished on time, and the pricing was very reasonable. Excellent experience. This company is reliable, hard working, timely and does beautiful work. They redid our 800 square foot patio, added a drain and built a garden box out of stone. Everything turned out amazing, and the work was done on schedule. Also, they are principled and have a strong work ethic.

Jonny is pretty amazing. He removed the old deck and created a wonderful patio despite off-the-charts precipitation and then snow and ice storms. And the patio he created is a stunner. Austin Brown and his team transformed a wilderness of dandelions into a clean and sustainable backyard (following a great design from ThrivePDX) in record time and within budget, and I'm very grateful for their hard work.

We had a bit of a whole-sale cleanup and re-set of our back yard and patio. There were several things that came up that altered the scope of the project a little bit but all was dealt with in stride. Would recommend to anyone. We're enjoying our new backyard very much!

We worked with Austin (and Sarah of Thrive Design) circa 2018 for a complete front and backyard overhaul. Sarah designed the entire new space which included a paver patio, a huge timber framed planter box, multiple jasmine trellises and a dry creek bed rock path, plus more, and Austin and his team ripped out an old deck, the concrete pad underneath that, and all the existing vegetation in both yards, hauled it away, graded the whole thing, built a new fence and installed all the design elements listed above, plus spread a bunch of compost and hog fuel and planted a ton of beautiful plants and trees for us. They were professional, helpful, creative, and easy to work with at competitive prices. I highly recommend their services!

Following that Austin and cement group replaced a long walkway along our garage, from front to back, incorporating an artistic step-and-slope solution for moving home-and-yard recycling bins from our high-ground back yard to front.

Austin and Sarah and primary workers are a great comprehensive team to make changes and to create natural and structural beauty. Many neighbors and those walking by have remarked on how well it all turned out.

All of the people in their business group are the best at this work, and are great communicators along every step.
