Paul did some repairs for us based on an inspection report. He and his crew did a fantastic job. Highly recommended!

We are a repeat customer of Paul’s and as in the past, Paul is great to work with and his team does a quality job. They installed new front doors.

Few contractors are as responsive with follow up and action as the owner of Paul Cottle Construction. You can tell that Paul works in your place is if it was his own.

I just wanted to say thanks to the guys at Paul Cottle Construction! Paul does great work and is very knowledgeable. I would recommend them to anyone in the Portland area looking to get their windows replaced.

Paul did some work on our windows. His price was fair and he is professional and courteous. I'd definitely hire him again.

Our crawl space had a weird opening, requiring a custom-sized door; Paul came out, took a look and some measurements, got back to me with what I thought was a very fair quote, and then handled the rest from there, making it a seamless process, which was much appreciated on my end - one less thing to have to think about. His workmanship, attention to detail, and professionalism are a combination rarely found today. I'll have him back for upcoming projects (assuming he's not too busy, lol!). I really can't say enough good things. He's prompt. He carries himself in a very professional manner. His work is high quality. He's a good communicator. You really can't go wrong!

Paul was unable to do the work I need done only because he is booked up. However, his was the most prompt and kind reply from any contractors I’ve reached out to. I will definitely be reaching out to him for more foreseen projects in the future!

Paul Cottle Construction replaced four basement windows. The work was completed professionally and on time. There was no cleanup by me necessary when the job was completed.

I would consider the company for future projects.

Paul Cottle did our front door installation. He was responsive, transparent and most importantly, he and his team did quality work. I will definitely use them again in the future.

I worked with Paul to add two new windows in my living room. He was very conscientious about the details of the project, and was diligent about permits, inspections, and ensuring that everything fit in with the existing construction. My new windows look great, and like they’ve always been there!

We had a good experience working w/ Paul on a major remodel that included a full remodel on one bath, partial remodel on a second and some moving of interior walls. Paul's crew definitely does extremely high quality work, and we're very happy with the outcome of the project.

    Description of work:
Replaced 21 metal windows with vinyl as well as 2 sliding doors

Paul took on the project of replacing my original dual paned but metal framed windows and sliding doors with vinyl. His experience, up front communication, and ability to handle problems made the job go smoothly from my perspective. He stands by his work and his word and I would choose Paul again.

I can't speak highly enough of Paul and the work he and his folks do. After a full electrical upgrade due to a power surge, my laundry room was left in shambles by the electrician. Bent plumbing, torn up drywall, etc. I called Paul and he worked around his busy schedule and my vacation, as well as some unforseen circumstances, with determination and creativity. I love the results and will not hesitate to call him for future projects. Thank you Paul, Mark, Spencer (from Precision Plumbing) and the rest. You guys did a great job!

You need to stop and read this review. You are going to read some amazing things about this man, his crew and the work he performed. I got several bids and chose Paul. He wasn't the highest or lowest, but the one I felt most comfortable with. I tried to be prepared with architect drawings, structural engineering reports, fixtures picked out, etc. I thought I was on top of it. Paul started the work and everything was going fine until the world came crashing down. My kidneys quit working. I was in a coma for five days, in the hospital for a month and in recovery for almost three months. This happened shortly after Paul started work on my project. Now I do believe many contractors would have walked away or at least asked to put the work on hold until a later date. Not Paul. He went on with the work as if nothing at all was wrong. If you have ever done a remodel, you know there are a cazillion items that need to be discussed and dealt with and so many decisions to be made. Paul was trying to figure this out with me barely able to assist him at all. It was a most difficult ordeal for him to try and work and get information from me as to what I wanted. He was always checking to see how I was doing health wise while also trying to make sure my remodel would be as perfect and as beautiful as I was hoping it would be. Paul and his crew were so kind, so patient and took it upon themselves to make sure that the work they did was something they would be proud to have in their own homes. The few times I was able to stop by my house to see how the work was going, his crew would stop what they were doing to help me get into the house, set up place for me sit as they showed me what they had done or what the were working on or to ask questions as to how I wanted something to look or where I wanted it placed. In the end, thanks to Paul and his crew, my place looks great, better then great. Paul said after I was feeling better, he was going to take some photos and place them on his website. I hope he does so you can all see the beautiful work that they accomplished--especially my bathroom, which is a work of art. There are many great contractors here in Portland, but not all that many that have the kind of compassion, caring and heart of Paul Cottle and his crew.

After interviewing 3 contractors to fix my leaky bay window, I chose Paul, because he was interested in sharing the problems he found and was forthright in saying there was no need to replace the window, just fix the poor weatherproofing (or lack of) and replace the interior window sill which has warped from condensation. The other vendors seemed eager to make a big sale, not fix my problem. During the process Paul was excellent in updating me by phone, and sending photos before and after. He let me know when there was a weather delay, and when he would be back, when neighbors came over with questions, and he was great working with my renters in a professional and kind manner. One neighbor commented to my renter how professional Paul and his crew were and what a great job they did, including the clean-up each day when they finished. I am glad I trusted my instincts after speaking with Paul; I was definitely right. He's a person who lives his life by the golden rule: he does the work for you how he would like it done for him. Priceless!

Paul and his team installed 13 windows and a french door in our 1983 house this past fall. Paul was professional from our free bid meeting throughout the entire process. He and his team were prompt and were at the house when they said they would be at the house. The install process was very smooth and they did a VERY professional job. We have received several compliments on the quality of the craftsmanship on our new windows (both interior finish and exterior finish). We never had any issues with messes to clean up, nonsense to deal with or tough personalities to manage. We will be reaching out to Paul soon for more projects on our house. Thanks Paul!

Mark, who is Paul's exceptionally skilled master carpenter, did a back entryway remodel job for us in 2012. We were so impressed with his attention to deal (heavy wood door hung in PERFECT balance, bamboo wood floor laid down tight & solid, new sheet rock with flawless tape, prime and paint work), that we knew we'd like to have Paul Cottle remodel our master bathroom in 2013.

We're so glad Mark and Paul took on this challenging bathroom job and we are thrilled with the results. It was a complete remodel of our master bathroom, starting from bare floor joists and wall studs, all the way to a finely finished wood, tile and glass sanctuary, including insertion of a larger window, addition of a SolaTube skylight, and laying radiant heat under the file floor.

We had a pretty solid idea about what we wanted before the bathroom work started, but every step of the way Paul and Mark were helpful with layout modification and material selection suggestions that contributed to a much better finished product. They were also flexible in accommodating a few mid-stream additions and tweaks which certainly slowed them down. Mark's deep experience and attention to detail shows up in everything: from the clean intersections of tile, wood and glass, to the multiple rounds of sanding and treating wood so it will look good in a bathroom environment years later, to how tile grout lines are carefully planned to avoid highlighting the fact the house has settled unevenly over the past decades.

Paul Cottle Construction quality is top notch, it was a joy to see Mark's work progress every day during construction, and Paul is always honest and fair in his pricing and communication. They're good people who do great work, and we definitely hope to have their services for our next project.

I'd had Paul, Mark and Audrey to a couple of minor repairs last year, after moving back from Seattle and finding that the tenants had played havoc. Since they did such an AWESOME JOB, I hired them again, this spring, for a full 'do over:' New fence, new roof, Bathroom Makeover and remodel, Exterior Painting, as well as several additional minor repairs.

His 'crew,' Audrey and Mark, were AWESOME - as well as really NICE folk - after everything was done, after about two plus months, they actually felt more like family, than 'just' contractors. They were timely, did great work, and cleaned up thoroughly. I am ecstatic with the end result, and absolutely plan on hiring Paul again, the next time I have mad ideas...!!!

Paul removed an L-shaped wall separating out kitchen from our living room. This included moving the electrical wires that were inside and texturing the ceiling to match.

Paul and his team were wonderful from the very beginning. Paul is very responsive, punctual and communicates throughout the project. He never fails to call or show up when he says he will.

Paul sounds very knowledgable about a wide range of topics. While some contractors sound uncertain or indecisive, Paul gives his opinion with confidence. We've been impressed with his professionalism and willingness to get the job done the correctly instead of taking shortcuts.

The electrical work needed after the wall was removed turned out to be more extensive than we originally thought. Paul is such a stand up guy that he quickly found an electrician and worked with us on the cost to help cover the additional work. Without Paul's help, we would have had cords hanging from the ceiling for weeks instead of just a couple days.

We're so relieved to have found a great contractor. We've already contacted him again about helping us fix a leaking window that was botched by a previous contractor.

Many thanks again to Paul and his team!

Paul and his crew replaced a patio door for me. Paul is very honest, responsive, professional. Clearly knows what he is doing and has years of experience. Workmanship was outstanding. Quoted a fair price and got the job done perfectly. Very easy to work with. Would highly recommended Paul Cottle Construction.
