They did a terrific job installing an egress window in our basement! They were efficient, prompt, and completed the project within the estimated time frame. Plus, it was much more reasonably priced than other companies I spoke with in the Portland area. Would highly recommend.

We have nothing but positive things to say about Catalyst. I was very pleased with the work they did. The owner was very helpful through the process and answered all of our questions we had. We will definitely be using them again in the future.

We had an unfinished basement Ryan and his team created a beautiful space out of half of it. They were able to see our vision and execute it in a timely and professional manner.

Understood our priority to salvage & reuse woodwork when possible. Quality workmanship.

Ryan and the Catalyst did a complete renovation of our basement. We have a 1930 Tudor and it needed a ton of work, including new electrical and water lines. The end result was an amazing, well-laid out space that included a kitchenette with wet bar/sink, laundry room, living room, bathroom and bedroom!

Ryan and his team installed two egress widows on one of my rental homes and did amazing work. It was flawless. I have tenants and they were very considerate of their space. I am very pleased and I would definitely use them again. They also had the best price I could find to have this done.

Ryan and his team were able to get our project aligned with our budget and timeline. Very understanding, knowledgeable and easy to work with. We were extremely happy with the end results. Highly recommended!

Catalyst is great, both in terms of value and results. We had them put in 2 egress windows, as well as remove an ancient AC unit and patch up the siding. Their attention to detail was excellent. It's safe to say that there are usually surprises when you do a remodeling project. I felt they always had a solution when something came up and were good about communicating what they were doing and why.

So we had an aging garage with a sinking roof that needed reinforcement and siding replaced and painted. We also wanted to frame out the back third of the garage for a new sauna with tile floor, drain and changing room. Ryan and his team came in, carefully identified pertinent structural issues and rebuilt the garage and created a space for the sauna including placing a drain with a challenging layout. We also needed to replace a wall on one side of the structure, add a new entry door and window and pour a new footing.

He was cost conscious in the options he gave, price was competitive and quality of work exceeded my expectations. Throughout the process he was responsive to texts and phone calls and adaptable to the (many) changes I wanted. It did take longer than anticipated to complete but some of that was due to supply chain issues with getting the door and window. Possibly the most impressive thing is that we had agreed on a price for additional work done and a few days later he said the cost was actually significantly lower. He could have just pocketed the extra but chose not to. Would definitely seek him out for future projects.

We hired Nick and Catalyst to install an egress window at our property. Nick was so great. Explained the process, gave tons of options and advice, was timely, and their workmanship was fantastic. About a year later, someone broke the window's handcrank and Nick delivered a replacement- FREE OF CHARGE. They go above and beyond. Won't ever use anyone else other than Catalyst. Thanks guys!

Our 1913 bungalow needed a long-overdue kitchen and bathroom remodel. Ryan and his team listened, insured they understood our vision and offered meaningful suggestions to integrate the new and enhance the vintage of the house. Communication is key and Ryan excels. Execution was flawless...on time, on budget and quality workmanship.

We are thrilled with the outcome of our remodel project.

I planned to restore my entire childhood home prior to moving back into it. I needed the kitchen, and upstairs bath done, while I completed the rest of the house. My goal was to time the project and have it finished prior to moving back in. It was.

With quotes ranging from $60k-$200k, Catalyst came right in the middle. I am very happy I chose Catalyst for my rather large project on an early 1900's home in NE Portland, OR.

The information, communication, and wealth of ideas were very helpful and made the entire project smooth, and without hassle. Quite simply, what I wanted done, got done as top-notch as possible.

I had the entire house re-plumbed, re-wired, and knocked a couple walls down. It was somewhat extensive. Catalyst had it dialed. All tasks were performed with utmost professionalism, and done in a timely manner. Full custom cabinets, tile flooring and walls, and a scratch-made custom shower were completed. The subs were fantastic to work with.

I would highly recommend this local team of professionals for any remodel or other work you need done in your home. You won't be disappointed.

The value of work shows in the value of the home. Many minds were "Blown" after seeing the final product, including mine. Ryan, Nick, and crew really pulled this one off.

If I later choose to finish the basement, and do egress windows, they'll be the first and only I call.

We had to tear all of the exterior walls out of our finished basement in order to have a moisture abatement system put in. Nick and his crew have done a wonderful job of replacing the walls and trim, adding new flooring, updating one of the windows to be an egress window, updating the electrical service, and helping to fix a number of frustrating design issues with the basement. Nick did a great job keeping us informed about when the various steps of the work would be happing and helped us work out how to deal with some of the design issues in our old house and some of the unplanned changes that needed to be made.
We now have a beautiful finished basement that has been updated from the old 90's aesthetic to one that fits seamlessly with the rest of the house and some previously unusable space reclaimed as storage. We are very very happy with the work and are planning on enjoying our updated basement for many years to come.

Ryan gave a competitive bid. He was very responsive to my needs and schedule. He and his workers were friendly and professional. Most important, the final product is excellent. The window provides safe egress from the basement bedroom, and the finish work matched the existing finish perfectly.

Even before Ryan began work on our project, he made sure we understood the process and the options. I had a limited budget. Other contractors were negative or ambivalent about the project. Ryan was creative and optimistic. He communicated and educated us about options, to insure we got what we wanted. I definitely recommend Ryan and Catalyst Construction. Project- Converting our 1926 dilapidated garage into a finished storage space with a full bathroom, new roof, new electrical and more.

The crew at Catalyst was great, they were very easy to work with, and worked within our time frame and budget. We remodeled our kitchen/dining room and master bedroom, bathroom and walk-in closet. It all turned out beautiful.

Having never gone into a major remodeling job before, we were very happy that we chose Catalyst, and look forward to using them again on other remodeling projects.

This was a big project and I’m glad that I had Ryan Klobas and Nick Werfel from Catalyst Construction on the job. The project involved removing the roof and adding square footage to the second story of an old 1920’s house, which was in rough shape, to support 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and renovating the downstairs. Ryan’s communication skills were great, and I appreciated his timely updates, especially in the beginning of the project when we were running into unexpected structural problems. Nick’s attention to detail and craftsmanship were superb and he was a pleasure to work with. The house turned out beautifully and I couldn’t be more pleased with the finished results.

Catalyst construction came recommended to me from a friend who had them build a garage for them. After having a tree fall on my house this winter they were able to fix everything back to the original condition. Once they started my project was done in no time and the work all looks top notch. Highly recommend!

Catalyst Construction & Remodeling excelled in fulfilling our hopes of our dream kitchen in a difficult, small space with big ideas. We were thrilled with the end result and our kitchen was transformed from an embarrassment to a show-stopper. Through excellent communication, planning, patience on both ends and creative problem solving, we found the process eye-opening and rewarding. They were clean, efficient, thorough and cared about both the entire process as well as the end result. We had some unusual design requests and through team effort and vision, Catalyst & Crew along with Michael and I crafted a beautiful space that has truly made our house a home.
