We bought a fixer upper and right away needed to replace the roof and siding. Vitto helped us pick out a roof color that would look well with our planned sliding paint. The whole replacement took 4 hours!! The siding has help up great over the last 6 years.
We also decided we want some stone work on the front and Vitto suggested to do the entire front window. I am so glad we did that because it elevates our exterior. We redid our kitchen and stair rail and couple years later, added a deck. Vitto and Tanya were able to help us through all of these remodels! Ther know many professionals in the industry across all different trades. We are very happy with the work that Vitto and his employees have done.

Had a nice initial conversation about the project with John but I never heard back from him. I’m not sure why. I assumed he didn’t want to take on my project but I never heard back.

I’d advise people to avoid McCulloch construction. I had a terrible experience with John and McCulloch construction remodeling my basement. Quality of the work was sub-par (e.g., walls not plumb, window wouldn’t close and had to be replaced). I got a check for the remainder of my deposit after McCulloch was off the job and the check bounced. Trying to get my money back now.

I grew up in a house built by McCulloch Construction. I watched John re-imagine all three floors of my home, in addition to our back patio. Even as a young kid, I could tell his attention to detail and creative vision was something special!

The fantastic quality of work aside, John has gone above and beyond in his professional relationship with us, providing friends and family with multiple employment and training opportunities. I wholeheartedly recommend his services.

John and his incredible team finished our basement for us in 2019. John himself was not only a master at designing a beautiful basement for our home, but also a man of character and integrity throughout the process. You can trust that he actually cares about what you want/need as well as the quality of work that is done. His team is respectful of your home, time, and space. I had the pleasure of working with John McCulloch on a project in Salem, and it was an absolute dream! John McCulloch marries historical beauty and preservation with precision. Tile that flirts, thoughtful (sometimes surprise) details, serene finishes, zero ego—and yes, a twinkling chandelier that took me straight back to my mom’s Czechoslovakian crystal. He’s collaborative, exacting, and sustainability-minded. His homes feel like a sanctuary because they're intentionally designed like one.

Bonus: through the McCulloch Foundation, he’s actually walking the talk on sustainable housing and reducing waste. You don’t just end up with a beautiful space—you end up breathing easier. If “deep exhalation” had a contractor, it would be John.

I have installed for this company many times. They squeeze everything from their customer especially when it comes to self leveling the floor so watch out for that. They also make the customer buy a lot more product than needed and guilt the customer when they are trying to return it. What I'm more mad about is the fact that I can't reach them to pay me for my last job I did. I had to go into my savings to pay my workers because SW stopped responding to me. This is beyond unethical and is insulting. I don't mind removing this review if I'm just treated fairly. If you don't want to be scammed as a customer or worker, go with home depot and try asking for dynamicflooring.

I spoke with a gentleman on the phone today, he was extremally kind, helpful and honest! He helped me understand the needs of my project a lot better and gave me some recommendations that may better fit my needs. Thank you for your time and compassion.

The Team at Olson & Jones remodeled our condo in Portland. The project turned out beautifully, on time, and on budget. Jeff Jones is a phenomenal project manager and spends your money wisely.

I signed up for the CEWO energy audit in the early fall just to see what could be done and the cost. From the first moment the whole crew was very professional, explaining every step and option, and allowing me to choose the ones I wanted most and figuring out how to make it work with the CEWO program.

Once the actual work started, it was also great, I work from home so was in the house for almost all of this. All the contractors they work with were just as professional and the work they did was top notch.

There was some miscommunication with the drywall crew, with one guy showing up to do some patching around 6:00 PM, which was past the time spans we'd talked about. I'm pretty easy going though, and this didn't bother me too much.

The work is great, the house feels better and stays cozier, and the new windows (especially the little kitchen sink greenhouse one) are rad.

I just purchased a home that was remodeled by Olson & Jones. The quality of their work is amazing. I don't write reviews very often but their work definitely warrants a note. Their work was so good that the home inspector had a tough time finding anything wrong. I've been in the home a few months now and still am amazed that the quality of their work. I would highly recommend them.

We hired Olson & Jones in 2016 to redo a bathroom and install insulation in the attic. When I found out they were 'partnered' with Energy Trust of Oregon I requested that they do an energy audit on our house. Being that we already had new attic insulation as an aspect of the job, and there were potential energy credits for our project, we thought this was a no-brainer. Between the bathroom remodel that took too long, the mistake in the shower pan (twice!), and the terrible communication, I cannot recommend this company. They were not qualified at that time to handle any energy work. I had to tell them over and over again what we wanted and to use Energy Trust of Oregon. However, they didn't even perform the proper report and didn't follow up with EOT, which would have gotten us the energy credit. In the end the shower turned out well, the walls they patched were sloppily finished (pin holes in the spackle, rough and not paint ready), the flooring was done well and the insulation went fine. My biggest complaints: the poor communication, the cost (over 15K for a light bathroom remodel and insulation and vents) and their inability to work with ETO. Even though we knew we had a small project and tried to be accommodating in our schedule, it really felt like the management didn't care.

As a single female homeowner, I have had some pretty disheartening experiences with contractors. This is not one of them.
I signed up for a free energy audit through CEWO and was matched up with Olson and Jones. James showed up on time and ready to go, he was helpful, kind, and professional. He helped me jump through all the CEWO hoops and put up with all my questions, concerns and flights of fancy. Justin then came in and got the work I wanted done, with detailed daily updates.
The house is cozier for sure. Nice work guys, nice work.

Greg and his team were very detailed and made sure that everything was done right! We hired O&J for a “light remodel” of our condo, focusing mainly on new flooring, kitchen countertops, and appliances. Most of the original improvements remained, or were modified slightly. But the impact was almost equivalent to a complete overhaul. We are very pleased!

These guys were amazing to work with. Their communication is open and honest. The people they have working for them were all incredibly professional and talented.
From the very beginning, their team went to lengths I had never experienced to ensure that I was prepared for the project. They treated my home as if it were a palace (it's not, but I appreciated the effort, even for a construction site!) and I was given the utmost respect. It was never difficult to get ahold of anyone working, and I was given regular (sometimes even daily) updates on the project.
The project stayed on time and on budget and I felt like I'd lucked out with some of the most professional contractors in the area! I would HIGHLY recommend anyone at Olson & Jones for any project you may have! I'll be a regular customer myself from here on out for any of my properties in the greater Portland area.
