Highly recommended! After 20 years of living in our fixer upper it looks amazing now with the new roof and gutters! We had 4 companies bid on it and Adam and Nicholas' presentation and thorough inspection of the attic and roof was very informative and well explained. Their price was also reasonable. The other companies did not inspect well, they did not go up the attic space, and didn't seem eager for the business. Cameron and the crew that showed up worked 2 and a days and were very polite. The gutter company was also very professional and courteous. Luis and his co workers did an amazing job finishing up the cable siding as a side job. We are very happy with our new roof! I will definitely recommend them to friends and family!

Company owner Adam makes sure they are running a wholesome, professional and fair business. They offer rates that are NOT inflated and they care about their workers as well as their clients. That was important to me because not only do I want to know that I'm getting a great service for a fair price, but also that the workers who are on MY ROOF are protected. Definitely recommend Hawthorne General Construction for your roofing needs.

The team at Hawthorne General was amazing to work with. They did several of my neighbor's roofs and was incredibly impressed. I worked with Adam to get everything set up, as far as estimate and payment. They worked with my financial situation and made it so I could afford a new roof - mine was due and had a little bit of leaking in prior years - so I'm very happy I took care of it. I would recommend Hawthorne General to anyone looking to get their roof replaced/repaired.

We had a great experience with Hawthorne General Construction. We made an appointment for a roof inspection as we are preparing to sell. They got us on the calendar quickly, they were on time to our inspection, and they found some issues we did expect after an incredibly windy storm, and also some issues we weren’t expecting. They came prepared with new shingles to touch up some spots and caulk to fill in some nail holes.
I feel 100% certain we will pass our inspection when we list the property. They even went above and beyond to check our attic for any signs of moisture and their prices are so reasonable!

I highly recommend this company if you need any roof repair or replacement!

*EDIT IN RESPONSE TO OWNER’S RESPONSE TO MY REVIEW * owner lied in his response. They did not proactively enter all units. They broke building code during the project with vents which resulted in black mold in multiple units. Adam, you need to have all mold professionally removed (not by your young workers who don’t know what they’re doing), and bring all of our units up to code. The reason other companies had higher quotes is because they are more knowledgeable and HOA insurance for construction companies is expensive…. Hopefully you have it

Unprofessional and unsafe company. They did a huge re-roofing for our HOA. The guy leading the project lived in our HOA and moved out as soon as it was finished. One of the workers fell from a 2nd or 3rd story roof during the project. They were messy and didn’t clean up all their debris. Myself and others got punctured tires. Months later a few of us found that our bathroom vents were detached from the roof and we didn’t notice until mold developed in our attics. When Hawthorne sent workers to reattach the vents, the workers were not wearing any protection at all while being exposed to mold and insulation all day.

Hawthorne Roofing did a great job replacing the roof on our Mt Tabor foursquare. I want to particularly give a shout out to the roofing
crew members (especially Frank) who so cheerfully worked long hot days and took great pains not to crush a single flower in my garden! Mil gracias amigos!!

We recently hired Hawthorne General Construction to do a roof replacement, truss repair and wall plumb job, and interior painting project for our Subud House in North East Portland. We were very impressed with all aspects of the work that Adam and his company did for us and found Hawthorne Construction to be an excellent choice for our project. Hawthorne General combined the expertise to provide top quality professional work and product standards while also maintaining a personal sense of connection with our project and our leadership team. Adam was very quick to respond to our inquiries and very clear and direct in his communication with us, very knowledgable and up-to-date in construction practices, well-connected with qualified sub-contractors who did part of the work for us, etc. Adam was able to coordinate crews in a timely efficient manner and was able to meet its work-completion deadlines with only minor overages in cost. Hawthorne General Construction solved a very difficult problem in reconstructing the underpinnings of our roof. They worked on it in an efficient, practical and timely way before reroofing the church. They were considerate of our budget as well and saw to every detail to keep the church looking beautiful and being safe from water runoff on the decks. I highly recommend them.

My experience with Hawthorne Construction during our HOA’s 2024 roofing project has been extremely negative. Their work on attic ventilation was negligent and deceptive. Exhaust vents were disconnected during the project, causing moisture buildup and mold growth in multiple attics.

Hawthorne claimed they had a venting specialist and that vents would be up to code. This did not happen. When questioned, the owner publicly stated that they had proactively inspected every attic — this was not true for my home. In April 2025, their crew returned but “fixed” the problem by attaching vents to nothing, making it appear resolved when it wasn’t.

They are now scheduled to come back again with a third-party supervisor to ensure the work is actually done correctly. In my opinion, no homeowner should have to deal with repeated, failed, and misleading repairs for such a critical health and safety issue.

I would not recommend Hawthorne Construction based on my experience with their poor workmanship, lack of transparency, and disregard for the well-being of homeowners.

Adam and his team at Hawthorne General Construction worked on my Seller's home and replaced the roof from initial phone call to completion in 6 days. He was professional and went above and beyond for my Sellers which resulted in them selling their home. I am sure the buyer will sleep great knowing that the roof will not have any problems for 25 plus years!

They did a great job of installing new gutters on my house. Ruben was great to work with on site. He was very polite and attentive to my requests. We did a walkthrough before they started and again when they were done to make sure everthing was to my liking. Adam was very responsive to my emails and made the quotation and scheduling process very easy.

Adam Cornett, the owner, was helpful in answering our questions and concerns before the project started and throughout the duration. All of the workers were friendly and professional and took great care of our property and landscaping. Clean up was done after each working day and when the job was completed. Hello, Adam from Hawthorne recently completed a large roof project for an organization I belong to. This has been planned for years, and had many versions as we talked to architects, engineers, and contractors. Then we found Adam and he came in and simplified the project big time. He started when he said he would, finished on time and on budget, and was very accommodating of the organizations needs. Highly reccomend!!
