Electrical reviews in Portland, Oregon

My Experience overall with Alameda was poor. I will not hire the again. My primary complain is that they delayed my project for a month because they forgot about it. a $9000 project.
They do have a few good employees - Elih & John, who had attention to detail, and apologized for some Alameda's screwups. The project involved moving the electric meter and running thick 4/0 cable from the new inlet location to the existing panel, then wiring a new garage. The first crew that came put a new meter box on my house, and ran cable through the attic. They left 1/4" holes open in the siding, which they left exposed for weeks until I told them to fix them. The penetration of the conduit into the attic was left un-caulked. They broke through drywall in two places, They left screws in the driveway, they left trash around the work area in my yard, they left their jacket hanging on my front porch, and spread mud inside on the way to the bathroom.
We waited a MONTH for PGE to come swap the wires...
I called Alameda eventually, because I assumed that professionals knew how to do their job, but no, they had forgotten about my project. So they scheduled PGE to come move the wires.
On the day PGE was scheduled to move the wires, PGE didn't show up. Based on the emails I got the following week from PGE confirming an upcoming appointment, which I had not received the previous time, I'm assuming they improperly coordinated the swap with PGE. The following week, PGE showed and we got the wires swapped into the new inlet box.
Once the new construction was complete, a different crew came out, and they were more detail oriented. They had to re-run the 60' of 4/0 line in the attic, because the previous crew ran wires with two hots and a neutral (no ground). My house was improperly grounded for the 4 months of construction, with all grounds utilizing the neutral from the sub-panel back to the meter and ground rods. The new crew replaced that 4/0 line with a 4 conductor 4/0 wire and wired the garage outlets.
We then failed inspection twice because they did not properly isolate the grounds in the panel which had just been turned into a sub-panel. The inspector was quite mad at their incompetence, noting "It says right here on the panel that the neutrals are connected by a bus bar, not just the grounding screw"
I expect electricians to be highly detail oriented and knowledgeable. Alameda electric is not. -
Very happy I called Alameda. We had a problem in the laundry room which turned out to be the house plug/power. Thanks to Katie's coordination and communication, Alameda was able to come out the very next day, and Jeremy fixed us up in an hour. Quality work and pricing. Now I know who to call if we have some other electrical needs.

Great overall experience. We have a 1930's home that was in need of some upgrades. Katie in the office, and Lee in the field are terrific. Lee and his apprentice added a few new grounded outlets for a TV and computer before move-in + He added a new dryer circuit, a new circuit and switch for a ceiling fan, and is removing virtually all of the remaining knob and tube over a few visits. Good communication and fair pricing. Highly recommend this company.

Beware
Dispatch was kind..and they did get to me in the time I needed ..
Bend review ..was charged an hour drive here and back when it takes 5 minutes at MOST to get across town...he was here before the appointment time and sleeping. So I got to pay for him to sleep and then 4 hours to do 1 like and not through the wall but over a floating ceiling and a silver conduit down my wall. I couldn't babysit due to having to move equipment...and sadly my cameras weren't running yet from the move to prove if he really took that much time. Prepare to babysit so you're not overcharged.
Would be a one star if it weren't for the kind dispatcher. -
Matt and his crew were simply amazing. Lee came in on time, super polite and a very clean installation. I couldn’t recommend them more, my electrician failed me and these guys saved the day literally. Glad to be able to count on them.

PROJECT: Replace close to 70 electric panels in a 1970s apartment building.
SUMMARY: Just a really great experience.
As a property manager, we had the challenge of replacing close to outdated electric panels in apartments that are mostly occupied. We replaced about two to four a week for several months until completion
Their bid was very competitive and combined with their reviews - we chose them.
They were professional every step of the way. At the start, we had an issue with one of their workers. We discussed this with the owner and didn't hear any excuses or defensiveness - just an acknowledgement of the problem and we never saw that person again.
From that point on - In every respect - this was top notch project. From communication / scheduling (we worked with Juanita) to the onsite electricians (mostly David), to the logistics of working inside tenant occupied apartments to billing (even helping us get discounts that were being offered through a third-party), to final inspection (the city was turning it into an ordeal - I didn't have to get involved at all, Alameda dealt with it and got everything approved. Whatever drama they had to deal with - they didn't bother me with it except to keep me informed).
I was expecting this to be a very painful ordeal - the folks at Alameda made it as 'pleasant' as it could possibly be. -
We have been incredibly pleased with the service from Alameda Electric. They quickly and professionally addressed concerns we had about some knob and tube electrical in our home. Aaron was always so friendly and helpful during the scheduling process. Our electrician was Eli who was amazing! He was friendly, answered all of our questions and made sure that we understood the options available to us. At no point did he try to sell us unnecessary services. We value the integrity that Alameda Electric displayed during the entire process. I will never use another electrical company.

Todd and Team at Badger are top notch. I have used Badger on over 20 projects around town and not once have I had an issue.

Shannon fixed our problem over the phone
~ thank you! -
I needed an outlet put on the outside of my house. Super easy to schedule an appointment, a tech came out and had the outlet installed in maybe an hour. Looks and works great, thank you!

We've used them for two different services. In both instances they were correcting mistakes made by other electricians. Fast to arrive, quickly assess and correct issues, and friendly. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. We'll be using them for all future electrical needs.

Badger Electric has done a number of jobs at the Heart of Wisdom Zen Temple. Installed a grounding system, run kitchen circuits, ran electrical to our outdoor sign and more. They are always on time, the work is excellant, and workers are pleasant and well trained.

Words cannot express my gratitude- I called for help with my stove not working and Mary walked me through a bunch of steps I could do on my own and the problem was fixed in minutes! They could have made hundreds of dollars for a service call, but they helped me help myself instead. You have a customer for life!

I highly recommend Badger Electric. As a general contractor I have been working with Badger Electric for a couple years now on bathroom and kitchen remodels. I have used many Elec contractors and Badger is by far my favorite. I have never received a customer complaint and have passed every inspection. More than I can say for any other sub. Always on time and never work slow to rack up hours. I have met multiple of the electricians in the company and can't complain about any of them.

Badge Electric is probably one of the best contractor experiences I have ever had. My power went out in part of my house. After calling a couple of other contractors who told me they were 4 weeks out, I called Badger and they put a priority on getting someone out the same day to fix it. Gus, the electrician, took a look at my system and provided recommendations on updates but found that it was my service provider (PGE) that had the issue. Instead of just saying "not my problem" and leaving, Gus contacted PGE for me and even followed with a phone call late in the evening to make sure our power was restored.

I got a guaranteed quote and then when paperwork came, it was a total different 50% higher quote, beware of this company. When I confronted the manager that did so, I got called a liar and and wire prices change everyday. This is dishonest and bad business. And one of my plug-ins from the last job they did didn't work and then I was told someone would call to schedule me and they never did. So I asked manager to fix it and said that I waited too long and I'm SOL. UNBELIEVABLE!!!

We have had 2 major electrical projects for our home. Mike and the crew were professional, punctual and offered additional advice that helped work through issues as they arose. The office staff is prompt to respond to questions and courteous in doing so. I would recommend using Badger and we will continue to use them in the future.
