We are very pleased with the chimney repair work completed by Brandon and Chad from A Better Chimney, LLC. From our initial meeting until the work was completed, Brandon clearly explained what needed to be done and what to expect for scheduling. We had obtained multiple bids (some recommended doing a complete rebuild) but Brandon recommended removing/replacing the existing mortar (“tuck-pointing”) and explained why a rebuild was unnecessary and why this lower cost repair would address all of our concerns about aging mortar. His bid was very reasonable and we felt confident in his expertise. Our newly repaired chimney looks great, and includes a new custom-built chimney cap. In addition to the high quality work and management of our project, Brandon and Chad took extra steps to minimize the spread of mortar dust to our neighbor’s property. This speaks highly of their commitment to customer satisfaction.

I needed my primary fireplace cleaned and some mortar fixed. I also needed the chimney stack surface cleaned of moss and sealed, the crown resurfaced, and a cap replaced. I reached out to Brandon, lightly laughed about having the same name, and scheduled the inspection and the following work. Brandon was willing to educate me by addressing all the questions I had as I want to take care of my property. He was pleasant to talk to, looks to have done a good job, and, again, educated me on many aspects. The job was fairly priced and I would recommend him to anyone wanting someone who is honest and will do a great job getting your chimney in order.

Brandon and Pedro could not have been easier to work with and have been conscientious to a fault. We had had chimney work done by another company which failed resulting in leaks coming through our ceiling. Brandon responded immediately when we reached out, quickly identified the issues in the previous work, was clear and transparent about what his crew would need to do, and was able to get started within the week. These folks are a pleasure, they care about their customers and their work is uniformly excellent. We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Had a great experience with A Better Chimney. Brandon took the time to explain the issues related to our chimney, and provided a menu of options/strategies for remedy. Jason spent nearly all day completing the tuckpointing needed; if he took the time to take a well deserved break, I didn't see him do it! The guy went essentially from 9am to 4pm to tackle some intensive tuckpointing on the roof as well as the lower shelf. Amazing energy and effort on the part of the team, including attention to detail in the cleanup, and chatting with our neighbors to make sure that the dust that carried over was mitigated. Very thoughtful and communicative company, highly recommend!

I can’t say enough about this company, especially Brandon, who went above and beyond for us. He did a fantastic job cleaning our very difficult chimney. I knew it was a difficult chimney with extreme creosote build up. He didn’t try to price gouge us or try to sell us something we didn’t need. Prices are excellent too. At the end of the day, I felt taken care of as a customer. I walked away trusting this company. I didn’t know this kind of professionalism and customer care still existed. Brandon inspected our wood-burning fireplace today and we were so impressed and pleased with the service. He returned my initial call promptly, scheduled for the next week, texted me 15 minutes prior to the appointment to let me know he would be there and arrived on the dot. He was affable, thorough and extremely knowledgeable. Brandon explained fireplace mechanics and made suggestions re: our grate, how to regulate the fire temperature and how to get creosote off in an effective and virtually cost-free manner. Bonus: he was fun to talk to and when he left I thought, He would make a really great dinner guest!”

Brandon and crew did an excellent job rebuilding the top of my chimney from the roofline up, and tuck-pointing below the roofline. The price was reasonable as well (not the least expensive, nor the most, but closer to the least). Brandon's 20 years of experience is clear when talking to him about masonry. He's easy to work with, conscientious, and made sure that I was happy with everything before it was declared finished. The project was accepted in early July 2021 and finished in early December 2021. Weather (too hot in summer; too rainy in fall) played a part in the length of the project. Before and after pics below.

If your looking for an honest quote and a job that exceeds expectations then Brandon is your guy. He was extremely easy to work with from the beginning to end. Very kind and informative, taking his time to explain everything to us. We had another quote from another company and it’s unfortunate how many people out there just want to try and lie and try and scare you to charge thousands of dollars for work that doesn’t need to be done to take advantage of people who don’t educate themselves on something complex like a fireplace.
Again, if you’re looking for someone honest and willing to work through the steps to ensure a safe home at an honest price, this company is your best bet.
