Tree Medics loved my beautiful old Silver Maple as much as I do and did what was needed to make it happy and HEALTHY. Three other tree companies told me it needed to come down! We couldn't be happier with the vertical mulching they did for us or for the invaluable professional advice they gave to us to keep it that way.

Such a great team! James is so knowledgeable of how to properly treat and care for shrubs, trees, lawn etc. Logan and Dakota did an amazing job pruning a couple trees. They went from overgrown blobs to beautiful in a matter of hours. Highly recommend!

From getting advice on my apple trees, to trimming my MASSIVE douglas fir (so it can survive the next ice storm), TreeMedics is the way to go.
As the saying goes, a stitch in time saves nine, tree medics will address things BEFORE they are a problem, and their solutions will last years.
Highly recommend -
We were so happy with everything Tree Medics did for us. Everyone was so friendly, knowledgeable and communicative. Definitely plan to call on them in the future for more projects.

James knows more than or as much about trees than anyone in the country. I'm convinced. I was worried they'd put the genius up front then send in the clowns for the work, but the guys who came out were banzai masters. My trees looks expertly cared for and I look forward to seeing them flourish.

Tree Medics is awesome! James really knows his stuff and carefully tries to guide his customers into care and preservation vs a logging/"chop it all down" approach. We had multiple companies come out to our property with lots of trees and Tree Medics stood head and shoulders above the other companies. Logan and Dakota just came out to apply an Emerald Ash Borer treatment on our huge Ash trees to protect them now that the EAB has made its way to Oregon. And we are planning on having Tree Medics come out this fall and do some trimming around the house (the quotes surprisingly came in the same or less expensive than other companies and included a lot more precise care of our precious trees). We will not consider using another tree company. Definitely give them a call!

We utilized Tree Medics for their DIY consult for our sun facing, hard to manage front lawn.
Let’s start with the first phone call! Terri got us on the schedule quickly and sent a reminder prior to their arrival. James, the owner and arborist/chemist extraordinairre, arrived 10 minutes early and assessed our lawn and proceeded into a step by step process for fixing/reviving it.
Throughout the consult it was evident that this man loves what he does. We learned that he grew up in the Midwest on a farm and was the son who was responsible for the chemistry behind the scenes. He is extremely knowledgeable about all lawn, shrub and tree care and is passionate about sharing his knowledge with others.
We followed his steps and our lawn is thick, lush and green! Our shrubs and flowers stand out now because the lawn is healthy! He even offered suggestions and ideas for problem areas that we will implement
in the fall.
If you want the expert, hire James and his team! -
Truly superior tree care service!! If you are a tree lover, this is THE tree service company for you to call from now on. Here’s what you get: rapid service, honest assessments, accurate work quotes, expert ISA certified arborists, sterilized equipment, impeccable tree care, sparkling clean up, friendly local folks, great advice and the very BEST care for your trees at a great price. They never over do it, being careful to respect the tree’s health and ensure its longevity. They will save you money by discouraging excessive work, and by not damaging your trees. This year James came out to look at a fir in our yard that was yellowing, dropping needles and drooping its branches into miserable frown shapes. Fortunately, James has carefully formulated mycorrhizal fertilizers specifically for PNW trees and our local environment. His team of David and Maui came out to trim and apply James’ special blend. They did beautiful work removing some problematic branches and lightly opening up the tree. The effect of the mycorrhiza and this gentle pruning was miraculous for our fir, which now looks greener than ever. The terminal branches have regained their lift. My wife says the tree is smiling again. We really appreciate working with Tree Medics! I hope you will give them a try.

We had an old pine tree that really looked bad it took a beating with the ice storm two years ago. I had cut the dangerous branches down but didn’t want to get too carried away and kill the tree. There were three other trees on my worry list. David came out and did an assessment and assured me that the pine tree was able to be saved. He looked at the other trees and described his assessment and that a couple of them were fine. But said just to be sure he would look at them when he was here with his equipment.
He sent me his bid and I accepted it. The work day was scheduled and he arrived within minutes of his estimated time. David assured me he doesn’t use spikes to climb up as they do damage and can open the tree up to parasites and infections. They setup and started to work. After he had mostly finished he had me come out to see what I thought and explained all that he had done and why then asked if I had any questions or concerns. He had done a wonderful job getting the pine tree into a balanced look. The other pruning he had done was great. I did want one of the trees trimmed back further from the house and chimney so he pruned it more. I’m very pleased with the work he did. My wife is the true master and she was pleased with his work as well.
If anyone asks me if I know of a tree person Tree Medics would be the first words out of my mouth. -
I had a few tree and shrubs that were struggling. James came out and educated me on why the trees were struggling and how TreeMedics organic approach will benefit the trees. It has been one year that I have been on their routine care and now the trees and shrubs and health, lush, fuller, and have grown. I am so thankful I came across TreeMedics. The communication and service is on point!

James and the entire Tree Medics team are fantastic. It is obvious they are in the business of SAVING TREES and not chopping them down like so many other people. James came out to evaluate an unhealthy Maple tree which is the main feature of my backyard. He took a look a the tree and instantly knew what had happened. I was shocked he knew as much as he did just from looking at it! He knew it had been improperly pruned a few years back (it had) and that there were a few other issues going on (also accurate). He was confident he and his team would be able to save this tree. I had one previous tree "expert" out to evaluate the tree who told me it would have to be chopped down. I loved that James had a solution to get the tree back on track instead of just chopping it down. It is obvious James loves trees and it shows in his knowledge. Also, on his way out he commented on a tree in my front yard and said a new invasive species of beetle has been found in Oregon that would destroy my front yard tree. He gave me the name of a product I can use to treat the tree to protect it from this bug! FOR FREE! I did not even pay him for this advice, he told me out of his love for trees. I booked them, and the crew came out and treated my Maple tree a few weeks later. I am excited to see it getting healthy again! I cannot recommend James and his entire Tree Medics team enough. Please call these folks if you have a tree you love and want to save!!!! They are in the business of SAVING TREES!

What a pleasure it was to have the Tree Medics crew in my yard today. They were professional, knowledgeable and courteous.
All issues and a few extras that had been discussed with James were completed very satisfactorily. I highly recommend Tree Medics. A special thank you to David for being willing to give answers to all my questions. -
My property has been beautifully cared for by Tree Medics for the past several years under Michael Thayer's direction. He is always very responsive to my questions and concerns, providing thoughtful answers and options. He is very conscientious and cares about his clients satisfaction. Tree Medics is a pleasure to work with and the price for services is reasonable. I am delighted that they do not use harmful pesticides on my property. I am pleased to highly recommend this company.

Tree Medics bring a lot of knowledge about tree health; how to properly prune and control trees without harming them. James also brought knowledge of tree and “neighbor” laws which could prevent thousands of dollars in a lawsuit if done improperly by a tree service with no real education in tree health and the laws that govern shared trees. I was impressed with his knowledge of organic tree care and the environment as well as his respect for the plants he gets paid to control. I felt like I was in very good hands and dealing with an honest and educated business. I always have better experiences with smaller, personally owned businesses. I highly recommend Tree Medics for caring for trees you love and for responsibly controlling trees that are creating problems.

I chose Tree Medics in part because they charge for their site assessment. As a contractor myself, I appreciate that there are real costs of driving out to a site for an evaluation and understand that a true professional consulting with a client in preparation for a quote brings tangible value. The Tree Medics consultation more than validated my intuition to go with a provider who knows what they are worth and doesn't shy away from charging for it. David spent 90 informative and efficient minutes with me, walking my newly-purchased property. At the end of the visit I had pages of great notes with descriptions of every plant and tree on the lot as well as an understanding of their health. There was no pressure to sign-up for follow-on work and I could have proceeded to do everything myself using the information from the assessment.
I will tackle a good portion of the work myself, however I chose to hire Tree Medics to remove four large birch trees which David identified as unhealthy and two others which were encroaching on more desirable landscaping. The quoted price for the work was very reasonable. More importantly, communication was strong leading up to the job and the team arrived on schedule, worked safely, and left a clean jobsite. And the removal validated David's interpretation of the tree health... every one of the four birch trees had some amount of hollow trunk. They were an accident waiting to happen.
Tree Medics are professional arborists that bring a level of knowledge and skill well beyond a landscaping contractor that also claims to handle pruning trees. -
James is very knowledgeable and up front. We had a consultation for a tree that was dying. He not only diagnosed what was going on with the tree, he gave us useful information about some of the other plants and provided recommendations. It was the best money I've ever spent. We definitely plan to use them in the future.

My Japanese maple had been neglected for over 20 years. Tree Medics is making it beautiful again. They are a very professional company and know maples better than anyone around. Can't go wrong!

Tree Medics did a great job trimming three large Doug Firs in our backyard. They were honest, professional, informative, courteous, and environmentally friendly. The owner, James, was clearly an expert in his field and I enjoyed learning about the industry and how important doing a job right was for the environment, but also the long-term health of our trees. Admittedly, their bid was a little higher than four other companies that I contacted, and I decided to use one of those companies first, as I had used them in the past and wanted to try and save some money. It was obvious from the start that this company was not following OSHA regulations and were in a rush to get the job done, as the foreman explained they underestimated the job and booked a second job the same day. They did not lower large branches, creating a disaster below, and used spikes to climb up the first tree (which if you research is horrible for the tree). Worried about the health of my trees and the damage they were causing below, I asked them to leave. I called James immediately and he put me on their schedule. I am very glad I did as I am quite satisfied with the job. Be careful about companies in this industry that will give you a lower bid to win your business and then come out and do an unsafe, rushed, sloppy job.
