Constraction reviews in Norristown, Pennsylvania

This the worst company I had ever work with. I don't write reviews negatives or positive, this my first one. I am in service industry and I know how hard is to please a customer. The reason I am writing this review is to help someone to avoid situation I am in. Judging from my experiences as a manager of service company I believe that they don't have enough people to provide an outstanding customer experience or they don't train people right . Techs did not turn off pump, I had to turn it off my self after they left. My mistake I should have check before I paid. I did not mentioned that to the owner, assuming they would comeback and finish the job which would makeup for a mistake they made. What really upsetting is that I am not asking much, all that is need to be done is to lower level in the pool, which would prevent skimmer to be damaged during the winter. After several phone calls and empty promises they they would comeback, level in pool is still above skimmer and it should be lower. It should be at list the 12" - 18" below the skimmer for mesh covers. I have no other option as to take them to court over $445, which is mind blowing. Seriously, this how you run your business, by hit and run? I am surprised they lasted this long with such customer satisfaction level.

I would not use them again. They overcharged by probably $120 and at least $60 for a $180 extra visit. That last visit was to do work that was supposed to have been done on the second visit and to correct work that was done incorrectly on the second visit. They have bad, argumentative, illogical, unsatisfactory customer service representative (Mike). He said every job as different and he did not know the details of our job. Yet he twice refused to talk any of the 3 technicians who knew those details! It is impossible that visiting us twice for a job that should have been done in one visit took no extra time. The technician emailed me to say he had spent 1.000 hours, but I was charged $60/hr, for 1.5 hours, for a job I could have done myself in 30 minutes (not as neatly) and that might have taken 0.5 hours if it was done right the first time. Ultimately, Arrow turned me down as a steady customer and turned down $760 for our next closing and opening over a $60 dispute that they were wrong to bill us for in the first place.
None of the 3 technicians who serviced our pool wore a mask to prevent spread of COVID-19. Two of the technicians were very good otherwise (Rad and Wojciech). The second service technician (Taiwan) was HORRIBLE. He did electrical work without asking me to turn off the circuit breaker as the other two did. He did not schedule his visit or tell me was coming. He did not tell me was here. (I was home, ironically filling the pool, while he was here.) He did not tell me had been here except to email me a service call report for 1.000 hours. He did incorrect work. He did not complete the job that he was supposed to do.
I did not give this company 1 star because the first and third technicians were every good and their receptionist (Megan) was friendly, pleasant and tried to help. But overall, I recommend finding another pool service company. -
Our home warranty program - AHS - usually sends less than ideal service providers. That is not the case with Arrow Pool Services. Quick responce time, knowledgable technician, and a real person answered the phone when we called. I was most impressed with the pride the technician took in fixing the pump. Pump and the area around it was cleaner and more organized than when he started! So thankful! Will definitely use Arrow Pool Services in the future.

I’ve been a customer of Arrow Pool Service for many years and could not be happier. Their technicians are knowledgeable and professional. They show up on time and are always prepared. Scheduling appointments with Arrow’s office staff could not be easier. I highly recommend Arrow Pool Service for your maintenance or renovation needs.

The best. Responsive, helpful and reasonable. Do not hesitate to use Arrow. Can’t thank Mike enough for all he does.

We used them for a few years without issue. Pool opening, pool closing, chemical management and pump repair over the winter.
Last year, service guy showed up for our scheduled pool opening and said "the pump is missing". We reminded him that we pay THEM every year for the pump to be maintained over the winter (~100). They return to their shop and inform us that our pump is inoperable. What the heck are we paying them for over the winter, to find that out in the middle of summer?
It was late in the season, so we decide to bag it. We were told pumps were hard to source due to supply chain issues - fine. However, we would like a refund for the winter service that clearly didn't happen, and for the pool opening we were charged for (~400). It took weeks to get a callback from the owner, after we called 5-6 times. He claimed that they left chemicals on our property, and that somehow we were on the hook for the opening, because his tech showed up.
Needless to say, we won't be using them in the future and recommend others do the same. Dishonest dealings. -
Arrow does an awesome job. They helped me establish my new salt water pool and the owner, Brandon, has many years of experience and shared lots of valuable advice. His crew is professional and friendly. And most of all the work is top notch and reliable. I would recommend Arrow to anyone who wants to be sure their pool is maintained properly by a company who cares!

A++++
I have had an home warranty through AHS for over 15 years. During my time with them, I have had a few claims that I needed to file in order to get appliances, HVAC, plumbing etc repaired. I only keep them because in the event that a costly repair is needed, they offer a low service call deductible, and then the rest is covered...at least eventually.
Usually, they send a company that offers poor quality, doesn't show up when expected and borderline incompetent.
That all changed recently.
I called a claim in this past Sunday and expected a call back from a service company aout a week later as is often the situation.
To my amazement, I received a phone call that same day from Arrow Pool Service advising that received my request and that they would have a tech out Wednesday, four days later. Sure enough, the tech came out and diagnosed my issue. Today (less than a week after my initial call) I had a new pool heater installed!
What impressed me the most about Arrow Pool Service was their constant communication, walking me through the process step by step.
Amazing customer service, amazing techs!
I would highly recommend this company to anyone that is need of a pool repair.
Thank you Arrow Pool and Service...especially Jean! -
I purchased a new home last year and it came with a home warranty and a pool warranty. I had some trouble with the pump leaking and I paid the deductible and Arrow was dispatched. Now, their phone service and receptiveness were great! However, the pump continued to leak and a bigger repair was required, which they did. This repair continued to leak, and I was told by some unhappy guys it will do that?? Really? The pool was closed for the season and when I re-opened the pool the same issue came back, it was the pump the whole time and with no warranty I was on the hook for the pump to be replaced. Overall just not satisfied with the level of service and professionalism of the in-field staff.

We used Arrow Pool Service to close our pool for the winter. The person they sent was untrained and unprofessional. He did not know how to remove the grids from the filter to clean them (which is expressly written as being included in their Winterization package, and we have a VERY standard filter) and he was going to leave water in the bottom of the filter which could have caused damage to the grids if it had frozen. Arrow didn't send a replacement person out for over 10 days after that, and never notified us about when they planned to come (they just randomly showed up 10 days later) and so we ended up having to watch YouTube for instructions on how to do it ourselves in the meantime to avoid damage from freezing. Also the worker was smoking on our property and was rude to us. Overall the experience left us disappointed and with a bad taste in our mouth about the company.

Arrow has serviced our pool for years. We've had some ups and downs (all pool services have issues in my experience), but they are responsive, particularly Pat, the manager. Some of their staff have been with Arrow for decades, which is remarkable. They've upgraded our equipment over the years, they open and close the pool and fully service it with weekly chem calls (all at reasonable prices), and the pool looks and feels amazing. Today, July 4, the pool looked a little cloudy, and I noticed our salt water chlorinator just stopped working. They responded to my email and came out to adjust the chemicals within 2 hours! They've also gone digital so keeping up with their weekly reports and making payments is super convenient.

These guys are GREAT! They've been opening and closing my pool for about 7 years (maybe more!). Never had an issue. They are respectful, knowledgeable, on-time, clean up after themselves and are very fairly priced. Whenever I've needed something these folks have come through (even recommending other companies if they can't do the work).

Mike Carlin, manager, has been helpful and responsive to any and all of my concerns--he is great to work with and directs a staff which is also terrific. I am very glad to have found Arrow! Margot Horwitz

By far the best pool service I have ever encountered. We have had our pool for over a decade now and, as you can imagine, we have used many pool services. Arrow is the only one I will ever use now. My summer started out with my pump dying on me and it was the height of the pool opening season. But Arrow was still able to deploy a tech to replaced it and had the pool back up and running within 24 hours. They also solved several more problems this summer as the season went on. But what I would say the best thing about Arrow is the ease of doing business with them. Most of us are very busy and the more automated and hassle free the process is, the easy our lives are. With Arrow I can book an appointment on line or call and talk to a living human. Once the tech comes. you receive a report in your email and it gives you a status of your repair (in progress, completed, etc.) And the bill comes via email and you can pay online. And finally, it is a family owned business that takes pride in its work and service to their clients. You get the best of both worlds with Arrow, the ease of doing business thru technology (yet to see the big one's deploy this strategy) and the attention and care only a family business can deliver and do it for over 50 years!

Generally bad experience - If you hire Arrow be sure to talk to the techs and ask as many questions when they work on your pool. Communication is sparce and level of service differs greatly between techs. When priming my pump for the season, i picked the techs brain for my own knowledge and they told me my pump was primed. A day later the office emailed me telling me the pump was broken and needed extensive (thousands of dollars) repairs. i explained the techs told me differently then they apologized for the miscommunication and said i was right. Other generally average service was provided in addition to this. No compensation for bad communication or average service eventhough the miscommunication easily could have cost me thousands of dollars. be weary and ask questions

If you like green pools and getting charged over $100 per hour for them to come back 2 days later to fix their mess then hire them. Not sure how they have been in business this long. When they closed my pool they dumped the filtering clays in my yard leaving a big muddy mess for my dogs to get into. I could go on about them. Telling me it’s not their fault my pool is green 2 days after their guy was here.

I hired Arrow pools after being extremely disappointed with another pool company. I say this because I was very transparent from the beginning with Richard, Patrick and the rest of the team. My expectations were clear, my disappointments and frustrations were known, and with all that information I was assured over and over that the same mistakes would not happen.
The first couple of months were fine. (And $30K later). Fast forward to over two years (that’s how long I kept accepting their excuses), and I had enough.
In an attempt to make this review, short and sweet, I will bulletproof the issues:
- They are dishonest. I’ve caught them in many lies, including them telling me they cleaned my pool. The employee got out of the vehicle, got right back in and no cleaning was performed. When I confronted them, I was told the employee got sick and was going to return the next day. However, they sent me a photo of the pool and a checklist that they performed all the services and billed me.
- Their cleaning teams are not thorough. They don’t brush down the sides of the pool and my pool has gone green many times.
- They don’t know what they’re doing. Clueless when it comes to installations, they point the finger in every other direction. No one takes ownership.
Overall, it’s a really sad story. Their marketing looks great, they’re fancy flyers in the mail… don’t trust any of it. The best thing I did this year was find a different company! -
Arrow has been servicing my pool for its entire life, starting in 1996. I have been impressed by the staff's responsiveness to issues as well as the quality of the work performed, whether it involves opening/closing, periodic maintenance, delivery of supplies or repair/replacement of equipment. Prices are reasonable and the company strives for consumer satisfaction.

Arrow Pool has done our pool opening and closing for about 2 decades now. They are very reliable and professional. Over the years, we have had a number of parts replaced/upgraded through them. Their technicians gave us honest advice when this happened, and their prices are fair.

Arrow truly stands out for their responsiveness. I met with Mike in person for an estimate—he’s a genuinely great and trustworthy guy. The next day, I called the office with a service question and spoke with Patrick, who was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. We’re moving ahead with all the work and highly recommend Arrow for any pool-related needs. Thanks again to the whole team!

I have Been using Arrow now at least 10 years now and I can count on them to get the job done. Fast, efficient, responsive, and courteous service is what I have received. Prices are in line with what you would pay for your pool services.
