He knows how to do electric and he does it well and his prices are fear

Gateway showed up at my house to give me an estimate.
He said okay, I'll call you tomorrow and give you a price.
2 days went by and no phone call so I called him back and he said I'll call you tomorrow again, that was the beginning of June it's now mid Aug and still he never called me back, yes I did get someone else more reliable to do the job.

I had a need to install a new main electric line and other electrical issues in my home. I called Larry Lauterbon because of the so many great reviews he had. Since my very first conversation with him I knew Larry was my choice. He possesses a very rare and hard to find mix of traits: diligent, honest and courteous to say the least. His pricing was very competitive and fair. I was very happy with the work Larry did for me and would not hesitate to use him for my future needs and recommend his services to others. Thanks Larry!

I highly recommend Larry Lauterborn and his team! We have an old house that was built in 1925. We put the house on the market. Our first buyer walked because of existing knob and tube. We have a second buyer who wanted the knob and tube replaced. I googled knob and tube replacement and read lots of horror stories about electricians having to tear down walls and ceilings and even floors. Needless to say, it kept me up at night because our beautiful home has lots of original details that are very rare. We had two electricians come to the house only to have them say that the job was too complicated. Because we were under contract, Larry was very responsive and scheduled the work for us despite the fact that he was very busy. We have an original tin ceiling in one of the bedrooms that has been very attractive to buyers. Larry assured us that he would save our tin ceiling. Minimal damage was done to the walls and all of the holes were patched. Larry even addressed issues that the inspector did not catch. Don’t mess around with electrical work. Hire the best! Larry is one of the best with years of experience in replacing knob and tube. And he is really funny! Our house just sold!!!!

Larry and team were so responsive. Returned my call within same day, followed through as promised, sympathized with my issues and expressed getting the kitchen electrical issues remedied immediately would be ideal, called when they had an opening and did the repairs a week earlier than promised! When they showed up on time, the repair was done efficiently. They were tidy and respectful, followed COVID safe protocol, friendly, professional and now our go-to electrician! Thank you for all your work to restore us to a happy home.

We are very pleased with the work from Lauterborne Electric. We had quite a big project requiring getting rid of knob and tube. They were on time and very professional. We wish we had found them sooner and will definitely use them for any projects in the future. We have worked with others before and they are by far the best. Would highly recommend using them.

Larry and his two sons upgraded my electrical panel to 200 amp. They did excellent work and you could tell that they were very experienced at their job. Larry was timely with everything right from the beginning from writing up a proposal, starting the job and responding to questions. The price was right, they were friendly and cleaned up well. Finally found the electrician I was looking for.

Larry, and his sons, Larry and Ryan, did an amazing job totally rewiring my daughters 1875 Fishtown home. The home was all knob and tube wiring when purchased, but additionally, had a vintage kitchen and several rooms with wood paneling that my daughter wished to keep. Larry was able to put all new wiring in while preserving everything my daughter wanted to keep. Minimal holes and damage we’re easily patched. Larry and his sons were a pleasure to work with, they were fast and efficient and very responsive to our unique needs to preserve the vintage aspects of this home. I would highly recommend them for your electrical needs.

I would highly recommend Lauterborn electric. After buying a new electric dryer in an older Philly house, we needed to have a 220 volt outlet put into our basement to power the dryer. Larry and his guys did a great job. They were professional and quick, getting the job done in less than an hour. They also went above and beyond by setting up the dryer for us. They explained how everything was set up and were priced well. If you have any concerns/ needs with the electric in your house, Larry is definitely the guy to call!

We needed 4 ceiling fans installed and a new light in our basement. From contacting Larry initially and scheduling our installation everything went as smooth as possible. The company is very honest and up front with everything, no hidden fees or B.S. Not to mention the work was done efficiently and turned out very well! We loved how everything turned out. Second time working with Lauterborn today. Contacted them this morning to come out to fix a GFCI outlet in the back yard, came same day and got a new one installed in no time. After fixing the outlet I asked about a covered electric panel in the backyard and they confirmed it was a box that could be for another outlet.. asked if they could pivot and install another outlet there and they did within minutes for just a small incremental charge on the original quote. The guys are always so professional and courteous. They will always be the first electricians I contact as long as I’m in the Philadelphia area.

There are a few times that you can write such a glowing review. I will not only tell you my experience but what I heard other individuals share with me about the work of Lauterborn Electric. When I went to sell my home that was built in 1880, I needed to have the entire electrical panel replaced per the buyers request. The job was completed by Larry’s team and Larry came back on a separate visit to make sure that all the switches were labeled. The new owner brought in an electrician to help set up their ADT and security systems. While I was cleaning out a few things I heard the electrician say – WOW – I rarely ever see a unit that well done and organized. Whoever did the work is exemplary. They also made sure that the wiring on the outside of the home was done properly with the wire tubing going up to the top to ensure rain did not get in. I felt so good that I had the job done right for the new owner (who was THRILLED) and that I had put my trust in Larry and the Lauterborn team! I will share pictures to show you what a great job they did. Thank you Larry!

We hired Lauterborn Electric to do all of the electric work on a new addition to our home this year. We couldn't have been happier with them! Larry, Larry and Ryan were very personable and professional. They provided us with a very reasonable estimate, and stuck to the estimate. They showed up when promised every time. They finished the job as promised, when promised. Larry was very easy to get ahold of, and responded quickly and thoroughly to all emails. Was having a power issue in our home. Really appreciated the help Larry gave me. He wanted to try and resolve the issue on the phone before he came out to save me some money. Was able to troubleshoot over the phone and send him some pictures. He quickly told me what it was. And that resolved the issue, didn’t cost me anything. The guys were on time, professional, and all around awesome. I will definitely be using them for any electrical issue I ever have. They were so knowledgeable and figured out what was wrong. Very reasonably priced as well.

I honestly am blown away by how amazing they are in comparison to other folk in the trades. Their price was incredibly fair and their work was amazing. We needed 4 new lines installed in our lathe and plaster south Philly home and they literally only had to make 4 tiny holes to run the lines all the way to the second floor. They were quick, responsive, and really really nice to work with. It was easy coordinating with them and a joy talking with them.

I will never ever ever ever hire anyone else for electric. Hire them. You will be very happy with their work and fair price.
