Local Roots does amazing work. Everyone we worked with had incredible expertise, from the design phase through demolition and installation. There was so much careful consideration and attention to detail that I fully trusted all of their recommendations and the end result is better than I ever imagined. I'm so happy we worked with them and absolutely recommend for any landscaping projects.

Do not hire this company. We signed up for regular lawn maintenance and clearly instructed them not to prune our shrubs. Despite this, their crew severely damaged our shrubs by improperly pruning them, causing many plants to yellow and die. The service was consistently incomplete—they neglected cleaning our driveway and patio, leaving behind significant debris and mess. Even worse, after repeated emails and phone calls explaining the damage, they completely ignored us. They stopped showing up altogether without any notice or explanation. Extremely unprofessional, irresponsible, and unreliable. Save your garden and avoid the stress by choosing another company. Additionally, when I addressed these issues to the company worker, their worker reacted aggressively, kicking and damaging furniture and plants in my backyard, making me feel threatened and unsafe in my own home. They never took responsibility or responded to the damage their crew caused to my plants.

Our experience with Local Roots was incredible. We absolutely love the finished product. Ricardo was great in planning our design. It was incredibly thoughtful and well planned out. He really listened to our ideas and truly delivered. Our installation team, Nick, John and Alejandro, showed up on time and finished the job within our time frame. They worked so hard and did an amazing job. Our experience from start to finish was amazing. Highly recommend them for your landscaping project!!

Horrible experience
I would not recommend to my worst enemy.
I had them come out and no one knew what the hell they were doing.

Absolutely amazing company! Did my tree trimming, weed pulling and mulch. Very reasonable pricing

Had 9 yards of mulch put down. The guy's did a nice job edging all the beds. Cleaned up nicely. Very friendly!

I had the same experience as another review. Came to look at the job; had good ideas and conversation; talked for about an hour... Expecting a bid via email a few days later...so excited to get this work done. Unfortunately, no bid no email...left a vms after 3 weeks; no return call.
Back to square one and lost almost a month -- waiting and hoping!

He did at least show up and look at my yard when he said he would. He had great ideas and discussed plans. However he never sent me a proposal and never answered my follow up call or email. I guess he didn’t need the business.

I have just seen the response from the owner. This is indeed NOT a fake name. In fact, I still have contact info for Dave Woehler in my phone.

Woehler did a boulderscaping and landscaping job for me that is fantastic! The owner and crew worked hard to make sure my neighbors were respected, job was very professional and artistic, it was completed in 2 days, and I have a beautiful backyard that is unique, natural, and adds value to my home. They cleaned up completely before leaving. I would very highly recommend them for any job you may need!

Woehler's crew is THE BEST. His workers do such a good job and are unfailingly polite. They sodded our front yard several years ago and we sign up for the spring/summer fertilizer treatments annually -- keeps the lawn green and lush into late summer, when they aerate/overseed. This business is a gem, highly recommend.

Woehler's crew just did our fall aeration and overseeding and they did a terrific job yet again -- fast and thorough. They also keep our lawn in top shape during the spring and summer months via their 5-part fertilization program. The price is right and the team is always polite. Highest recommendation for lawn and garden jobs big and small.

Dave and his crew gave us a great price and did an amazing job. They brought in commercial equipment to our residential job and had it done in 2 days. We had a design in mind and Dave had a different design in mind and we went with his ideas and it ended up being 100% better than ours. Really impressive company and would recommend them to anybody!

Woehler Landscaping worked wonders on the final phases of our 2024 landscaping refresh. Dave was professional and methodical in his approach - promptly returning calls when we had questions – and tweaking several design iterations and estimations before we settled in on the final.

I can't recommend Dave and his team at Woehler enough. They are kind, competent, and hardworking. We wanted large boulders for our property and after lots of research and phone calls, it seemed like Woehler was just about the only place in Pittsburgh who had the equipment and expertise to deliver.

The staff were also extremely kind to our young children who enjoyed watching the job get done and seeing the neat construction vehicle.

I'm not at all surprised that Dave has been in business for over 20 years when many companies struggle to stay afloat. It's because he and his team work hard and do what they say they are going to do. They truly care about their customers and it shows in their attention to detail.

I would give them 10 stars if I could.

Although the owner is very nice and completely receptive to feedback, SOME of the workers are clueless. Since when is it acceptable to cut a yard and blow the debris onto other people’s property, not only next door into my yard, but also across the street onto another person’s property. I have made contact with them 3 times about this. (Two times to the actual workers) The third time was to the owner who was quite apologetic. Today, the workers did the same thing to the extent grass clippings were on my window ledges of my house! Really? The rest is laying in my marble chips that we weed by hand. Wonder if they want to come and take of that for us?! I don’t think my fiancé wants to come home from working all day in the heat and clean up their grass clippings. Why don’t you just blow the clippings into the yard you just cut and not on others’ property.
