I give them credit for scheduling a visit quickly (next day), but $455 for just an estimate (no work done) is unacceptable.

Came out and cleared a drain for us on short notice and did great work. The technician was friendly and not afraid to get a bit dirty!

What I liked about Powers Plumbing is that they were prompt and the service provider was courteous and competent to do the job. Where they fell short is that they are not upfront to the customer regarding the potential cost of the project. Upon inquiry they responded we charge time and materials, as if I should be able to guess the total outlay. Additionally I was told that a run back to the shop for additional supplies (my guess 30 to 40 minutes) would be on the clock. What’s the point of having a van if simple supplies like pvc piping or a compression sleeve are not in the van for a simple replacement of a ptrap under the kitchen sink. My recommendation is to request a quote as part of the initial inquiry to this company. You’ll better understand what to expect.

I was having a new frig delivered but the water value was frozen and they said I needed to hire a plumber (what!) and they stored it in my garage and gave me a number to call when I had finished my work. I really needed this done quickly and I called Powers and they had someone there in 3 hours who did the work and I was able to install the frig the next day. Great work, timely and resonably priced.

DO NOT trust Powers Plumbing. We used them less than one year ago and the owner and field supervisor was present most of the time. While the price was high we were pleased with the work done so we called them again for a simple repair and this time it was like a different company!! They sent a plumber who spent over 2 hours in a repair that should have taken 30 minutes and left us with a bigger problem we didn’t have before! They also gave us an outrageous bid and left without solving the problem they caused! We were told the owner would call us to discuss what happened and after a night of a loud leaking faucet we called two different plumbers who said that the problem we were left with was caused by a negligent repair. The quote Powers gave us was 2900.00 to fix what they caused and a subsequent plumber fixed the problem for 700.00. We paid 390.00 for nothing to powers! I’m frankly disgusted with this experience and shame on companies that try to take advantage of honest people. I’m reported this to BBB

I really like Blake. He is knowledgeable and explains things thoroughly. Your billings and invoices are not so good. My job was very straightforward…..replace the water pressure regulator. I gave you the part number and pictures of the device. The device is readily available for about $200 retail. Blake replaced it in 30 to 45 minutes max (undid two unions and swapped the units). How that totals over $1,000 is a mystery to me. The invoice only has three items on it (Consumables - 1.00, Labor - 1.25, and Materials 1.00) with no detail on costs. Blake did say he had to charge me for the time it took him to drive to buy the part. You should have had the part delivered to your shop and save expensive technicians for real plumbing work. I’m not sure I can financially justify continuing to use your company.
