We contracted them to finally fix our badly dilapidated rooftop deck and parapet wall. All of the various crews we needed for this project were nothing short of amazing! We live in a historic neighborhood, so there was a ton of specific details that they had to pay attention to and they had all of it. Not only were we pleased with the work, but we have had multiple neighbors stop us on the street and talk about how great it looks and how well they did putting everything back together so that it looks how it should. We will definitely be hiring them in the future!

I wholeheartedly appreciate the work that BBC Construction has done in my home. I have used them to make major repairs in a number of rooms. Each time, they responded quickly, are very professional, and the work turns out beautifully. I will use their services for years to come.

BBC has been my primary contractor for years. Fernando and his team provides reliable service and I have come to depend on his expertise. There isn’t a room in my home that BBC hasn’t touched and upgraded to meet my vision. BBC has helped make my made home that much more lovable.

I’ve used BBC Construction for a number of home improvement projects over the last 3 years, from emergency basement waterproofing to a recent flagstone path installation. Each time I’ve been highly impressed and satisfied by Fernando’s professionalism, knowledge, and craftsmanship. I also found BBC Construction to be reasonable and transparent in their pricing. I will continue to turn to BBC Construction for major home projects, inside and out. I strongly recommend BBC Construction to anyone who is looking for a smart, skilled, and honest home repair/improvement company.

It’s so hard to find a good contractor in DC and I’m so glad I finally found BBC. They helped fix a botched bathroom remodel and have treated us with respect, transparency, and kindest. Fernando does great work can’t recommend enough

Fernando, Brian and their team did an excellent job restoring our deck! They were prompt and thorough with sanding, priming and staining. They walked us through the whole process. If you need a good contractor you won’t be disappointed with going with BBC construction/ remodeling!!!

Fernando / BBC Construction & Remodeling is really good. It is challenging to find contractors that follow through let alone and do quality work. I know home repairs usually reveal unexpected issues and subsequently additional costs. Fernando was thorough and provided a clear explanation of the repair issues and the options making "surprises" palatable. The repairs look great. I noticed that he truly cares about his workmanship and his reputation for doing quality work. In my experience, Fernando showed high integrity. I find Fernando to be trustworthy and I would recommend Fernando/BBC Construction & Remodeling to friends and clients.

Fernando (owner), Brian and the whole BBC team were simply outstanding! They came by on the weekend to review the project and gave a a very reasonable estimate . They were timely, skilled, friendly, and finished the whole job in 4 days! (ahead of time). They then came back a few days later to ensure all our furniture was in the right place and to do some touch up work. We plan to hire them again for our next renovation!

Fernando is a professional who superbly understands the construction process and took care of an interior remediation for us. Thank you to him and his team for helping get our home back together!

Great team, great work. We’ve hired BBC for a number of jobs, the most major was to renovate our bathroom. We’re very happy about the work and the consistent quality bar. The team works hard to get things done on time and not only solves the original problem, but goes beyond that to make the whole space better than it was before. I highly recommend the BBC Construction company as they did a fabulous job repairing a water leak on the ceiling of my balcony. They were prompt, professional, and did an excellent job from start to finish. Carlos and Santos were excellent as were the leaders, Fernando and Brian. Many thanks for a super job well done!

BBC is a great great 5* company, fix my old house from top to bottom. Attic, basement, kitchen , 2 baths. Fernando have unmatched knowledge in constraction, know how fix any problems whatever they are: plumbing, electrical, moving air ducts. Will hire again! Hard to find such hardworking guys ! The team did an excellent job! We had a beautiful walk in shower with free standing tub that had persistent water leaking issues due to it being poorly constructed. Fernando walked us through the underlying issues and the solution needed. He issued us a fair and reasonable quote. The team executed the work wonderfully well while also minimizing disruption, debris, etc. in our home. Very happy and very appreciative.

Fernando from BBC Construction is - by far - the best contractor I have ever worked with in the 12 years I've lived in DC.
This company is honestly the only one that hasn't let me down. All the work they've done has exceeded my expectations.
Fernando is very knowledgeable, punctual, friendly, and respectful, and sets realistic expectations about the timeline of each project and what it will entail.
As a young woman, I have had many negative experiences with other sexist contractors who assume that I lack enough knowledge in their field (electrical, plumbing, etc.) or that I have no common sense, and so they try to scam me or get away with poor quality work. It has been the opposite with Fernando.
He takes the time to patiently and kindly answer every single one of my many questions, and explains things to me as many times as I need him to, always treating me like an equal.
I have an old house, built in 1921, and in the decades before I owned it, it went through renovations that were not done well. This has meant that now every serious project in the house must be done carefully to ensure that it remains structurally sound and safe both in the short and long term. I only trust Fernando to do any work in the house at this point, because I regretted every other time I hired someone else.
I appreciate so much that he always thinks about how to make the result even better than I asked for, and without me asking, cares enough to use his knowledge to come up with ways to make the best of this house that I love despite its limitations (e.g. building recessed shelves to maximize limited space).
His prices are shockingly fair and he gives detailed invoices outlining his projected labor costs. If anything unforeseen comes up that might lead to increased costs, he immediately addresses it with you to discuss options and ensure you are comfortable with the outcome. His team cleans up after themselves and you can see that he treats his workers with respect.
The projects he'd done for me include (but are not limited to):
-Fixing a collapsed wall in the crawl space of my basement (it was so bad, you could see the roots of a tree from inside the house) and ensuring water could no longer leak into the house
- Removing an old retaining wall and building a stunning brand new one
- Replacing old floors with ceramic and vinyl ones
- Building and painting a fence
- Building a concrete walkway in my yard and fixing an old one
- Fixing the flow of rainwater in my yard to protect the house from water damage
- As well as less complex tasks like painting my interior walls
And now, he is currently finishing my basement which is a very complex project given the limitations of the house, but I know it'll exceed my expectations as before.
I am so thankful that Fernando and his team were recommended to me years ago and now I will continue to recommend him to everyone I know in the DMV.

BBC Construction recently completed a bathroom remodeling project for us. The quality of their work was first rate. Fernando (the owner) and Brian (the project manager) worked with us to design the new bathroom and to develop a detailed cost estimate. Once construction started, they continuously coordinated with us to make sure that every detail was exactly as we wanted it. Their construction staff were true craftsmen, and they made sure that every detail was done to the highest standards. Their tile man, Armando, did a particularly exceptional job. They were very careful to cover the floors and furniture in adjacent rooms and the stairwell with plastic to minimize residual dust. They did a great job of cleaning up at the end of the project.

You contract with BBC Construction for their labor. You are responsible for purchasing major items, e.g. tile, vanity, cabinets, and fixtures. They buy incidental materials, and you pay for the exact cost they paid for those materials, with no markup. They completed the job for the amount of their estimate, with no additional costs or scope added during construction.

We expect to be using BBC Construction for other projects around our house in the future based on the quality of their work, their reasonable pricing, and the way they worked with us to make sure that everything was done exactly as we wanted it.

I was very excited to work with this contractor at the beginning and even in the middle of the project. I was convinced this would end up as a 5-star rating. However, the quality declined with some elements of the project. I would give a 3.5-star rating if I could, but I don't feel comfortable with a 4-star rating.

Pros:
- Very friendly staff and shows up to the project on time
- Cleans up after the job on a daily basis
- Covers household items to minimize dust and damages
- Clearly communicates the day's tasks/objectives and shows progress at the end of the day
- Plumbing, cement board, waterproofing, and foundational elements were properly managed. No evidence of leaks at this time after converting the plumbing structure from a tub to a standalone shower. His team took their time and tested for water leaks before any of the flooring and walls were sealed. This was my most important concern so A++ there.
- The owner would return to fix some of the concerns that his team did not address (missing caulk, drywall repair). He responds fairly quickly to email or text messages.

Cons:
- There were occasional issues with schedule and resource management. There were 9 consecutive days of no work being performed in the middle of the project, but upon arrival there were complaints that the team needs to hurry and finish my job. I felt like my project was being punished because of their schedule management issues. There was a tile specialist, but he was no longer available to work on my project. So, the owner decided for my project to move forward without a tile/grout specialist.
- With that said, communication lacked towards the end of the project. The owner was more focused on finishing by his target date versus discussing extending the project another x number of days to make sure the job maintains high quality. As a result, the staff seemed rushed to finish the job which allowed the craftsmanship quality to decline. I would say 70-80% of the tile and grout work is acceptable, but the remainder does not look professional. After showing and explaining my concerns, the owner agreed that the quality was also not to his standards, but made excuses for not fixing it. So, I'm now "stuck" with some tile and trim work that doesn't look professional in some areas. To be clear, I'm not looking for perfection. I know that doesn't really exist, but I expect the quality to look like a professional did the work. Of course, there were no changes in the billing to compensate for any decline in quality. Go figure.
- Since the tile work was not performed by a tile specialist, the team blew threw the extra tile that was originally purchased. I ended up buying extra tile on top of the general extra 10-15% and wasted more money.

I honestly dreaded writing this review because the staff is really nice and wanted to do a good job, but I have to be honest with my review. I have other projects that I want completed, but I don't have confidence in their ability to provide high quality tile and grout work unless they have a full-time tile and grout specialist. I would recommend that the team add quality control to their process to help ensure the customer would accept the product as good quality.

I highly recommend this remodeling company. They're very thorough, clean, and organized. Their prices are reasonable and very fair.

He took our deposit of $1600 to replace
Sunroom doors and never delivered nor refunded our money. When we requested the refund back, he offered $600. We refused and said “ I'm filing a complaint against your business and license” and he said “ Ok no problem let's go to court”.

Very conscientious. His workers are competent and they all make sure you are satisfied before they leave. No job was too small. They painted 3 rooms, replaced a ceiling fan, replaced closet doors, hung a blind and a few other small fixes. All in just 2 days and at a very reasonable price. He also remodeled a bathroom for me last year. Did a great job with that as well.
