We used Cooper Design Build for a 1927 whole house remodel. The design build experience was perfect for our family. The design and material selection process was smooth and left very few question during construction. The construction staff was knowledgeable and held very close to the construction schedule. I would defiantly use them again.

We had a great experience with Cooper Design Build. They were always available to answer questions. Weekly meetings kept us informed on the progress of our remodel and any concerns we had were handled efficiently. The lead on our project was easy to work with and very considerate throughout the remodel. Our home now feels more functional and spacious.

We had two bathrooms for our mid century home completely redesigned and rebuilt in 2015. Ten years later we still appreciate how great they look and how well they function. We got help choosing the finishes and they are timeless. We were constantly updated, which was helpful as it was our first remodeling project. They were willing to help with other matters for the house, too. It was a good process with very satisfying results.

We love our remodel! We chose to work with Cooper Design Build primarily because our neighbors used them for a major remodel and had a great experience. We wanted to work with a designer who would be able to translate our broad ideas into a refined design, as well as helping us negotiate our options. Cooper's designer was fantastic, and did not just pass us off to the build team after the design phase but rather continued on the journey as the design was translated into existence. While we had some communication hurdles with the build team, Cooper was professional and responsive every step of the way. The work is high quality, the team has been readily available to problem solve and we simply love our re-created spaces. We highly recommend!

Cooper Design Build is a small but mighty team! They did 2 sizable jobs for me (the first one being a huge job that was a complete tear down to the foundation after a fire at our house, and the second job being a flood that took out the whole downstairs of our house). Both times, Lane and team were very open and transparent with us, and advised us often on “nice to haves” vs “these are core things you can’t skimp on”. We trusted them to be honest with us, and aside from some upgrade change orders that we initiated with them, both projects came in on budget, and on time for delivery. Would highly recommend Cooper Design Build to anyone looking for a trust worthy team of folks. They’re not huge, and do a lot of sub contracting but they do put their money where their mouth is and do guarantee their work and quality. Our site manager (Nate) was with us on both projects every step of the way, and was here supervising and cleaning up daily. We are very thankful for their support as we navigated 2 different catastrophes!

The Cooper Design Build team did a great job on our renovation project in a challenging economic environment, including the 2022 supply chain challenges and inflation issues. We highly recommend them.

Built over 80 years ago and modified once since then before our ownership, our house had a number of quirks with wasteful crawl spaces and sub-optimal insulation. Our project entailed complete renovations of our kitchen and two bathrooms, construction of a dormer to add an additional study room, installation of a heat pump / mini split system for climate control on the second floor, and replacement of many windows. The planning and design stages took about 8 months, and the project was completed 6 months later, only about 5 weeks after the originally estimated completion date.

During the feasibility and design stage, Cooper’s design team helped us define realistic goals and devised layout plans that both solved functional issues and were aesthetically pleasing. As the demolition and construction got underway, Cooper’s project manager was on top of everything, and the various subcontractors carried out their work without a hitch under his supervision. Without exception, the quality of work by the subcontractors was excellent.

The Cooper team’s attention to detail at every stage was outstanding and the team communicated regularly with us on interior selections we needed to make and decisions required resulting from some of the surprise hidden quirks discovered about our house.

Cooper’s seamless management of our renovation project would have been a daunting process if we had attempted it ourselves. While the costs were tough to pin down in last year’s economic environment, Cooper Design Build helped us to manage the costs and deliveries of material through well-timed orders and efficient scheduling. The end result was a project cost and completion that was better than we expected. We’ve been enjoying the result of Cooper’s renovation work for almost two months now, and Cooper’s team is still helping us to resolve some minor details, some of which they pointed out to us and some from our preference changes. All of Cooper’s work is very much appreciated.

Did a whole-house remodel to give our 1930's house a more modern/open feel. We engaged with multiple design firms before selecting Cooper. One important factor was Lane and team's ability to recommend - rather than simply ask what we wanted they told us what would work best given the constraints. While stressful (we were out of the house for almost a year) the process was very organized and largely worry-free. Our project manager (Wes) was outstanding, keeping us in the loop and guiding us through all decisions, in addition to being extremely responsive and patient. The trades were top-notch and great to work with (special shout out to the painters who did an incredible job, insisting everything was perfect and redoing it if it wasn't). The project came in on-time and on-budget (<2% variance due to change orders) and we're thrilled with the results. Would definitely recommend Cooper Design Build.

Everyone who works at Cooper are total professionals and they are so friendly and easy to communicate with. My husband and I are both business owners so we needed to compartmentalize the remodel decision-making so that it didn't spill over into our work week. Cooper Design Build made that so easy for us. We had one meeting per week where all remodel decisions were made and our questions were answered. The whole process was super well organized and there were no unpleasant surprises or long delays.

Cooper Design Build & Remodeling helped my husband and I do a full remodel of our home in 2021-2022. From start to finish they were wonderful. They helped create my dream home. The Cooper team delivered a magnificent transformational renovation to my 1950’s kitchen and ancillary spaces. Lead by PM Nate and Interior Designer Staci, the project was planned and executed on time and exactly as I had imagined. Cooper has exceptional trade support that completed everything from electrical, cabinetry, floors, and panel restoration to finish-work, paint and wallpaper. The team proactively communicated every step and supported resolving issues when they came up immediately. I would recommend Cooper Design Build to anyone planning to undergo a renovation or remodel for their ability to plan, manage, execute and deliver on time and on budget.

This was our first home construction experience and Cooper Design Build (CDB) kindly and professionally held our hand through the entire process. CDB delivered on time and as promised a beautiful, long lasting, well constructed and permitted result that we will cherish for a very long time. They accommodated our living in the house during the entire 6 months of construction. Their subcontractors were excellent, especially the trim, drywall, tiling and plumbing workers. As with any major construction, unplanned issues occurred, but company president Lane Cooper, construction project manager Nate Seiler, and other staff handled them all to our satisfaction. We highly recommend CDB for your home building or remodeling projects. Our advice to anyone is that with any major project, you want to have a complete and detailed written list describing everything to be completed and have them agreed upon, so as to minimize any cost changes or misunderstandings that may arise. CDB was professionally committed to ensuring the written items were completed as promised and making sure our desired construction result was achieved at the agreed upon pricing.

My family and I recently purchased a historic home that could use a little love. We knew that having an old home would typically bring about unique quirks to work around. We were right, but the Cooper team ALWAYS had a solution. They paid special attention to every detail even down to matching the baseboards to the original woodwork along with salvaging a LOT of the original woodwork, window hardware, doors, etc. The team updated the existing bathroom, updated the floors throughout the upstairs, and created a new bathroom for the master bedroom from a fifth bedroom. We absolutely adore both of our bathrooms and we never imagined that we could have such a beautiful master suite. If I had to have any critical feedback for the team: An unintended consequence of the remodel is that my wife now spends excessive amounts of time in the master suite. She just won't leave. It's beautiful. The energy is perfect. The remodel perfectly fits the home with every detail. A special thanks to Staci and Phil!

I can't say enough good things about East Ave Design Build. They took our 1917 home into the current century and maintaining the look and feel.

They were extremely helpful and guided us through the entire process. They communicative, timely, flexible and on budget. The process, budget, schedule and expectations were clear from the on-set of the project. East Ave was proactive and responsive email and phone calls. They kept the workspaces clear and tidy through the entire process. I would highly recommend and am planning to use again on our next project.

Work Completed on a 1920 home: Full kitchen remodel (including knocking down a wall), primary bath remodel, flooring refinish, chimney repair & fireplace installation.

Our house needed a ton of work- from electrical to plumbing to flooring to drywall to complex structural. Chad made it all happen for us. Our house went from having ancient carpeting, cloth wiring, a sagging floor, and a sketchy unpermitted stairway in the middle of the living room to having a fresh new bathroom, new kitchen, new oak floors, and an entirely new finished basement. He also taught me how to use my new lawnmower because he is a truly caring person who loves to help others. He is knowledgeable, supportive, kind, and a real pleasure to work with. We feel super lucky to know Chad, and unreservedly recommend East Avenue Design + Build.

We hired Chad Ruhoff of East Avenue to revamp a house from the early 1900s that needed lots of attention. Work touched all floors of the home, and included two bathrooms, a finished basement, mini-split/AC installation, new wiring, relocating appliances and a new roof, among other projects. Chad listened carefully to our ideas and was very creative in offering different possibilities to suit our budget, from initial design ideas and renders to the final paint. He is an extremely patient and effective communicator and we never felt as if things were out of control. Chad has been in the business, as he says, "forever" and it shows. He’s extremely knowledgeable about all systems, and works with great subs. All in all, our home turned out great and we're very glad to have found him.
