We had an amazing experience working with Hamtil Construction. We couldn’t be happier with the beauty and craftsmanship displayed in our finished project. We started talking to Hamtil in 2019, but due some personal dynamics in our lives, as well as a global pandemic, we pushed our project until March 2021. By then, what started as redoing our master bathroom, turned into completely redoing three bathrooms and all the flooring on our second floor. We lived with these guys for three months; bless their hearts.
I would say, in addition to the high-quality product you end up with, the reasons you should use Hamtil Construction for your project fall in three categories: communication, conscientiousness, and crews. They are amazing communicators and keep you updated with their schedule and who will be in your house on a regular basis. They ask for your feedback along the way, and they were very patient with all the "dumb" questions we asked. They were very conscientious in trying to keep a very messy project clean and the least intrusive for us as we lived in the house, though in the basement, during the project. Their crews are amazing and are very dedicated to getting the project done to your satisfaction and to a very high standard.
I have to call out these folks. We started with “Passionate Paul” who wants you to have the project you want, and know what that all entails to do it right, while keeping in mind the details. How many times can we talk about robe hooks and light fixtures? Then we met “Kreative Kerry” from Youtopia Design, whose design skills were amazing. She gave us wonderful choices that made the project uniquely ours. Then we met “Steadfast Stephen”, who, though super quiet, was everywhere and just got stuff done. We had “Diligent Dominic”, our electrician, who was just nose to the grindstone in installing so many lights and smoke detectors. We had “Jammin’ Jesse” the tile guy for six weeks. He is a true artist and got us all channeling his love for music. “Sweet Sam”, our other tile artist, also did tile work for us during that time. (Because we had a lot of tile to install.) We also got to work with “Charming Connor”, who we didn’t see a lot, but he patiently listened to me go on and on about robe hook and towel hook placement options. Then there was “Butter Pecan Brent”. Brent did it all on our project and put up with us the most. He was our 5% guy who got the project over the finish line and kept us all friends in the process. (He also taught me where I should be charging my phone.) And last, but certainly not least, is the “Dynamic Dave Hamtil”. He was everywhere, from overseeing all the crews, vendors, and suppliers, to providing client, and marriage counseling to us on the side.
Thanks to all you guys for our amazing project! We smile every day because of your handiwork!

They just changed a shower into a laundry room for me. They were neat, professional, did good work and even finished on schedule. What’s not to like?

We had an absolutely fabulous experience with the Hamtils. They completely rehabbed our dining room- rescuing it from the 70's. This included an innovative tin ceiling, very detailed trim and a custom built-in bookshelf unit. They redid our bathroom and also did some smaller jobs. All of the subcontractors they use for specific jobs (installing wood flooring, tiling a shower, etc.) were also of equal quality.

Paul and Dave are always straightforward, they do good work and they sometimes leave the jobsite cleaner than they found it. Even when scheduling snafus happen, as happen with any contractor, you never feel that you are left in the lurch and they are always good at communicating any changes necessary. I always trusted them to work at my home when I wasn't there and to do the job they said they would do.

I have recommended Hamtil Construction to my clients (real estate) for items needing improvement or repair before coming on the market and they have always done a wonderful job at a reasonable price. When I needed some work done on my own home, I had no hesitation on calling Paul and Dave for a quote. The price for the work involved seemed very reasonable and they had the projects down on the books for the following week. They allowed me to leave a key in their lockbox for them to gain entry to house while I wasn't there and they were finished with the work after two days as promised. They did a great job and would highly recommend them to anyone searching for contractor.

When we started our home renovation project, we were completely overloaded with options and didn’t know where to begin. We were introduced to Paul and Dave Hamtil and as soon as we spent time with team, we immediately knew we were in good hands. My husband and I are extremely happy with the work completed by Hamtil. They suggested a unique idea for enlarging our bathroom that others had not. They hold themselves to very high standards, which is just what you need when you have someone working in your house every day for several months. We have worked with a lot of people in the past but no one comes close in the areas of quality, communication and scheduling. They incorporated other smaller projects with ease and still stayed on schedule. Everyone was very professional and easy to work with. They patiently answered my barrage of daily questions. They are so easy to work with you almost miss them when the project is completed.

My experience with Hamtil Construction was superb! I could not be happier with the job they did for me. I was contacted in a timely manner over an interior and exterior home issue. Everything was efficient and professional. Hamtil Construction has just completed its second wonderful project for my family. The first one (2017) involved gutting and remodeling an upstairs bathroom in on our 75 year-old home. They also built a linen closet adjacent to the bath. For our second project (2024), the Hamtils created a main floor laundry closet for our new stacked washer and dryer. No more running up and down to the basement with my laundry basket. These professional,, honest, skilled craftsmen will amaze you with what they can do with your wishlist.

With the new BuilderTrend app, we were able to see the schedule each day, read/leave daily notes, and see progress photos which was wonderful! I can't say enough about the professionalism, design capabilities, creativity, quality of workmanship, and general responsiveness from these Hamtil guys. I never thought I'd ever have a showcase room in my home - but I feel like I'm living in luxury every day now. They are super responsive to even the silliest of questions and always have the answer and prioritize fixes (though you won't have many!) straight away. I feel like we've spent so much time together in my home, they might as well be invited to Thanksgiving Dinner. Great dudes!!!

Hamtil Construction did an amazing job renovating our entire kitchen and two bathrooms. From start to finish, they were professional and helped us navigate the entire process with patience and an attention to detail. Their expertise and knowledge of older homes was exceptional. The entire team was very responsive to our needs especially by providing a temporary shower while we lived in our home during construction. They took special care to make sure the dust and dirt was contained and were always available to answer any questions we had. I highly recommend them and would hire them again without hesitation!

Paul and Dave Hamtil and their entire crew were very professional from the first meeting through the completion of our outdoor living space. We were so pleased with everyone who worked on the project. They were very respectful, kept the job site exceptionally clean and did a great job of communicating throughout. Hamtil Construction did a wonderful job on our primary suite remodel. Both my husband and I are very particular and we had in mind what we wanted, everything met our expectations. Being an architect myself I often have concerns that someone I chose to work with may or may not be willing to work with someone who "knows the business". The Hamtil team listened to me and respected what I had to offer, and yes, when needed, they did offer better solutions. And Kerry was wonderful, she pushed us out of our comfort zone with our design and it came out stunning. Just trust the process!

Hamtil has completed multiple projects for us over the last 15 years and I only have the highest praise for Dave, Paul and their entire team. Proposals are comprehensive and accurate. Timelines are followed. Communication is excellent. End of day worksite is clean and tidy. Remodeling in a home is always inconvenient to the owner, but the Hamtil team makes it as painless as possible and dare I say, slightly enjoyable!

I can't say enough good things about Hamtil. They tackled a difficult and unusual remodel job for me that other contractors walked away from. Not only that, they made it better than I had imagined it could be. Great communication, follow through, carpentry skills and finish details. They are honest, attentive and worth every penny spent. We have used Hamtil Construction several times, recently for a kitchen project. The end result was beautiful and completed with quality craftsmanship. We were kept informed every step of the way. I was impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail. Also, every member of the team was friendly and treated our home with respect during the process. We will definitely use Hamtil Construction in the future!
