The Dan Company restored and improved my deck beautifully and in a timely fashion. Their entire staff was friendly and facilitated the project with ease. I highly recommend The Dan Company for any of your home improvements and renovations.

I needed my small deck replaced. I found the Dan Company through Home Advisor. The owner, Dan
came by as scheduled and provided a timely estimate. I was impressed with the departmentalization
of the project. Once I signed the lengthy and thorough contract, I was assigned a Project Manager,
Collin, who was solicitous and responsive to my needs and requests. The actual work was
completed by one group of craftsmen and the materials were delivered by another individual. Everyone involved was respectful, polite and professional. The project took longer than I expected but the end product was worth it. My only negative was having supplies stored on my grass that yellowed due to lack of sun. It has recovered so I guess no harm, no foul.
I will reach out to The Dan Company for my next home project.

I contracted the Dan Company team to repair a leaky upstairs shower that had damaged the drywall downstairs. I had used them at my previous home and was impressed with that work. For this most recent project, I also had a great experience... at all levels, from quoting, scheduling, repair work and follow up. The job itself was excellent, but I was most impressed with the constant communication from everyone involved. I never had to check on status of anything at any step of the way. And the project was completed on time and below originally quoted price. I'll definitely look to them for any future projects. A+++

We enjoyed working with The Dan Company for our home exterior rejuvenation project. Communication was very easy and very professional. Our project manager responded quickly to any concerns we had. In particular their carpenters & painters were great. They made great suggestions that ultimately lead to a terrific finished project, giving our house lots of curb appeal! We are looking forward to having them do our interior renovation in the near future!

The Dan Company basically held our hands through the process of bidding on a serious remodel project with architect's drawings, they won the bid and then were the main contractor and project manager for the entire affair. It was a 7 month long project with a new roof, new electric work, a new bathroom and a lot more. The Dan Company selected excellent sub contractors for jobs and then made sure all the sub-contractors delivered work to our satisfaction. The workers from the Dan Company all delivered excellent work, were very respectful and were just a real pleasure to have on our project. The job estimates were all very honest and transparent and the Dan Company delivered regular progress reports with cost breakdowns to keep us informed. They are highly recommended.

Enjoyed working with the Dan Co., on time and on budget as planned. Quality of work was exceptional and the workers were courteous and friendly and always cleaned up every day. Would recommend this company for anyone looking for a general contractor.

Writing my review 1 year after my major remodel was completed. I'm so happy to have hired Dan Co. They were the only bidders on my job that didn't ignore some structural issues, and worked out a plan to handle it in the least invasive, most cost effective way. They hire crafts-people rather than just contractors and subs. Professionals and good at what they do. I lived on the property, so they saw me every day they were working. Any time I had a correction or change, I was told "it's your house, it has to be right" rather than getting snark over our detailed design requirements. The only budget overages were changes I initiated.
All of the good reviews are well deserved - I'll reach out to Dan Company for my next projects.

I want to start by saying I did NOT use Dan Company for my project but if I have to do a remodel again I will definitely be reaching out to them. I was remodeling a basement to add a kitchen, bathroom, and some other living space. I reached out to a bunch of contractors that would come out and give a quote and then never provide one for whatever reason. With Dan, he came out and it was clear pretty quickly that he would be out of my price range. But he still listened to me, answered questions, and made suggestions.

I was pretty sure when he left I wouldn't be hearing back from him just like some of the others, but to my surprise few days later he called me with some follow up questions and things he thought could save me money. Then a few days after that provided me with a full detailed quote that was actually cheaper than I thought it would be.

It was still out of my price range so I went ahead and contracted it myself but let me tell you, next time I'll definitely just work overtime to pay for a professional. Pretty sure I lost a few years off my lifespan due to stress and that's not something I ever want to go through again.

But I really wanted to thank Dan for the idea to put a window in my bathroom. It was something I wouldn't have considered or thought possible until it was too late and I really like it and look out it everyday. If I need a contractor for something else he will be the first person I call for sure.

We were very pleased with the work The Dan Company did. They were communicative with us and were available for any questions we had in the process. The subs they used were courteous and cleaned up after every day of work. Due to some internal challenges at The Dan Company the project took longer than expected. However The Dan Company was very transparent with us.

I wish I didn’t have to write this review: we had a great experience with the company a couple years ago (so great that I served as a reference for them!), so when we needed help with a substantial primary bathroom renovation, they were our first call. Unfortunately, our experience this time around was terrible — I cannot in good faith recommend them anymore.

Giving two stars (rather than one) because the work quality was very good. Subs did a great job, were friendly and cleaned up after themselves. In the end, we didn’t go over budget. But we paid a lot of money and experienced a lot of unnecessary delay and drama.

In short, our project was a victim of poor communication and lack of ownership taking responsibility. We went through four project managers: the first went MIA on us, delaying the demo start by 6 weeks; the second hadn’t read any of the project briefing and let us to believe none of our materials had been ordered; the third was too busy with other projects to make ours a priority; and the fourth was brand new, didn’t really know what he was doing, and wasn’t getting the oversight he needed from leadership.

To the company’s credit, they didn’t end up charging us for project management—as we’d been doing a big portion of it ourselves. Ultimately, a project that should’ve taken 8-10 weeks took 16 weeks (and that’s after the 6-week-delayed start). The thing that was most frustrating was that while Dan was fairly responsive to our outreach when things were regularly going wrong, he was also regularly pretty dismissive of our concerns and didn’t take responsibility for all of the mistakes and screw-ups that were the result of his team’s failings—failing to read the brief; failing to install underfloor heating and electrical that was in the brief, resulting in ripping up tile that had just been laid; failing to inspect goods on arrival so that they could be replaced when broken without delaying the project; failing to tell us about budget implications of design choices, etc.

Dan will say I was mad when things went wrong, and that some of those things were out of their control. Yes, I was mad. But mostly I was disappointed that I trusted this company, and they took advantage of that trust.

I’ve had an excellent experience with The Dan Company thus far. They are responsive, organized, thorough, and do what they say they will. Dan is personable and very knowledgeable, my clients love him! I’m so glad I found The Dan Company as a resource and looking forward to a long partnership going forward.

The Dan Company did a great job with the repairs I needed. I appreciated everybody being responsive with my questions and getting back to me quickly. Andy was on site everyday to give me updates and to plan for the next day as well.

I had a great experience with the Dan Company, from start to finish. My job was not an easy or glamorous one, and I had a lot of trouble even finding anyone who would take it on in the first place (fixing the shoddy work of another contractor). I couldn't take on the price of fixing all the problems at once, so they thoughtfully worked with my budget to put items that were less time sensitive for down the road when I can save more. They communicated clearly at every step, and my project manager sent pictures and called regularly with updates, including after the project was finished to be sure everything met my expectations. I look forward to working with them again on the remainder of my house issues and would recommend them highly.

The Dan Co. has tackled three large projects in our home - an attic-gym conversion, a kitchen renovation and a screened-in porch. We had white-glove treatment from planning to completion and we couldn't imagine working with anyone else!

Dan was fabulous! Was he the lowest bid? No. But the expertise and guidance that he provided me after my whole home renovation was abandoned by another contractor was invaluable. My project manager, Jake, was a joy to work with. He was always responsive.

The Dan Company did a renovation on our house for a bedroom, bathroom, and closet. The project went quickly and was mostly done on schedule. Mike was a great project manager. When we ran into supply issues they helped find replacements and work around it so that we could still move into the space on schedule. We really like our new space. The Dan Company was expensive but they did a great job.

During the beginning of the remodel our city had some major flooding. Water started to come in to the torn up area. Dan was by within an hour setting up pumps outside. We really appreciated the extra effort.

The drywall subcontractor did not do a good job and that led to a lot of repeat visits from the painter. The project was finished in July but we are hoping to have the last bit of paint fixed next week which is the end of October.

We had a fantastic experience with The Dan Company last summer when they replaced our sinking faux balcony with a beautifully designed angled roof. From start to finish, the team was professional, efficient, and highly skilled. And they finished ahead of schedule!

Anthony and KC were especially great to work with—both were communicative, knowledgeable, and made sure every detail was handled with care. The quality of craftsmanship exceeded our expectations, and the new roof not only looks amazing but also adds much-needed structural integrity to our home.
