Back in August 2022 I desperately needed to have my trees cleaned up. Between the freezing winters and the continuous drought, the trees were obviously stressed. I contacted a local company to get an estimate. In walked Matt Burgess. He impressed me so much I didn’t have to think twice about hiring that company, including Matt!
Fast forward to August 2025. My trees had taken off but were still under stress and once again needed attention. I found Matt’s business card which I had saved from 2022. I looked him up on Google and found Matt had his own business, Tree Service and Consulting! I called him and he came out and we did the tour of the trees. Six days later Matt and his crew showed up on time and were ready to go. I couldn’t believe how happy and majestic my trees looked when the crew completed the trimming of the trees. The crew spread Organic Compost around all the trees. Matt set up the Propizol Micro Trunk Injections on all 13 of my Oaks. Matt will be back to take pictures of them in 60 to 90 days as there will be evidence of improvement in the health of my trees.
Matt has the experience, knowledge, expertise, determination and respect for all trees. He is an outstanding Arborist. I can honestly say you can’t go wrong trusting Matt Burgess with all your tree needs.

I have used Mathew and his company for several years now. He doesn’t just prune my trees but also offers advice on steps to take to keep them healthy and uniform. His crews are conscientious and do an excellent job in cleaning up the debris. It’s really a pleasure working with a personable and knowledgeable young man.

These guys were very professional and very efficient. They took care of city permits and all logistics. A very tall oak tree was located behind the fence between two homes in a hard to access area. They rigged everything up, removed the tree, ground up the stump, and cleaned up the roofs of the houses and the yard. For a very reasonable price. Now all out neighbors are using them.

Matthew was professional & knowledgeable & very respectful. He is reasonable & makes things right. He listens & aims to please. I would highly recommend him & will not hesitate to refer him to my friends & clients & of course use him again when in need. He also was not a pushy sales guy.

Matthew came out to our home to take a look at a tree we have been struggling with. He was able to come out quickly, gave us great advice on steps to try with the option to either have his team do it or we could do it to save money. We opted to have his team handle it. Matt started the “Tree IV” that night and his team came the next day to finish everything else. He and his team are very professional and knowledgeable…highly recommend them.

Matthew and his team came out to trim my two trees after they went years in the backyard of an unoccupied home. I was thoroughly comforted by his knowledge of each tree and his plan of action. I have an emotional connection to the trees as this is my family home and my Grandfather planted most of the trees on the property. Matthew respected that sentiment. Matthew and his team were punctual and completed the job in an incredibly timely manner. My trees look healthier and I can see more of the sky now! I'm so excited to see how they will flourish in the spring. I absolutely recommend Matthew and his team and will be using them again in the near future.

Matthew was working on a tree in our neighbors’ yard when I asked him about a suspicious looking tree that appeared in our community park area.
He explained to me that it actually was an invasive, fast-growing, tree and offered to take it out as soon as he finished his job at the neighbors.
He did such a great job (both on the very large pecan tree at our neighbor & the removal of the invasive tree) and was so professional and knowledgeable throughout.

Tree Service & Consulting did an outstanding job of tree removal at our home. They spent two days taking down a massive oak that was severely decayed. Not only were they efficient, but they also left the work site and surrounding area free of all debris. The team was communicative throughout the process and went above and beyond to quickly resolve our sick tree.

Had a tree come down unexpectedly blocking my driveway! He showed up right away to help out. Super friendly, worked hard, and did an awesome job cleaning everything up. I couldn’t be happier with the service I received from Tree Service and Consulting! From the moment I contacted them for a quote, they were professional, responsive, and incredibly knowledgeable. The crew showed up on time, worked efficiently, and took great care not to damage any part of the surrounding areas/turf.

They removed a decent sized tree near our fence, ground the stump and lightly trimmed another oak tree for us. They also added compost to the entire area and treated our oak tree for oak die back and a Hypoxylon canker using an injection into the base of the tree. What really impressed me about the crew was how clean they left the area afterward—it looked even better than before they came!

Everyone I interacted with was friendly, honest, and clearly experienced. It’s not easy finding a company that combines skill, safety, and customer service this well.

We had a mix of needs—our cedar trees in the front yard were overgrown and showing signs of distress, and we also needed a full cleanup in the back. The team came out and exceeded expectations on every front.

They diagnosed a serious issue with one of our front cedar trees and recommended a tree injection treatment with antibiotics to restore its health. Watching them carefully hook up the injection system and explain the process gave us confidence they really knew what they were doing.

In addition to that, they:
- Trimmed and shaped the cedar trees beautifully
- Removed a dead tree in the backyard
- Tidied up our overgrown bushes
- Carefully trimmed our fig tree

Not only did they leave our entire yard looking clean and manicured, they also made sure our beloved cedar trees got the care they needed to stay healthy for the long haul.

I am very protective of the oaks in my yard and have never let anyone touch them since the city of Austin butchered them about 15 years ago. I met Matthew when he was working on my neighbors trees and inquired about removing a tree from my yard. He was a wealth of knowledge and I immediately felt comfortable and decided to give him a shot with my precious oaks as well. I am so happy that I decided to let him take care of my trees. His crew was top notch and did an amazing job - one of them was about 40 feet up in my tree. I expected to spend my weekend cleaning up debris, but they took care of that as well. I cannot recommend this company highly enough, I would give them more stars if I could. I will use them for the front yard next.
