Horrible experience
-
HVAC technicians Jay and Brent were a pleasure to work with.
-
No call no show to an appt window of 9AM-1PM.
Refused to answer my calls all day.
I ended up taking time off from work for this ridiculous appt window then they can't even let me know they can't make it! I also confirmed my phone number when making the appt! -
I would highly recommend ATX Express! Daniel, their technician was absolutely the BEST we have ever dealt with. He was thorough, knowledgeable, and explained the problem in great detail!

Excellent service today serviced thru American Home Shield. The service man was very friendly. He needed to get a part back at the office and made the effort to come back for same day service. I am back up and running.

This company took care of me when my heater went out during the deep freeze a few days ago. They were professional, courteous, and competent. The customer service was above and beyond. Thanks so much!
-
Fernando was amazing! He was super patient, answered all of my questions and make me feel like a valued customer. I will be requesting him personally the next time I use this company :)

Daniel came out to help fix our AC unit this week. He was very friendly and clearly explained what the problem was, how it needed to be fixed and the timeline for fixing it. I'm very happy with the level of service and appreciate it. Thanks, Daniel!

I requested service on May 22nd 2019. I paid in advance for service. They came on May 27th and gave me a written diagnosis. After that, communication was impossible because they didn’t answer phone. Two weeks later on June 4th they came again and gave a second opposite diagnosis and said that mold in AC system is normal and helps to improve your immune system and they recommended to do nothing until AC system was completely dead.

This contractor works with home warranty companies such as Home Shield. They will try to extort you to pay for costly and unnecessary “code upgrades” in order to complete the repairs covered by your warranty or refuse to complete the repairs. Extremely unprofessional and terrible communication. Took two weeks to get an installation scheduled and then they tried to exploit the situation

Got these folks through American Home Shield. My AC decided to stop working during the middle of the heat wave! Got out here the next day and fixed my problem in under half an hour. Turns out the capacitor went bad on the inside fan. Justin, their tech, was great and very easy to work with. Thanks guys, will recommend you to everyone!

Our AC went out on Saturday night, we filed a claim through AHS, and were contacted by ATX on Sunday!! They came out Monday morning, and we are up and running already!! Brent was wonderful!! Definitely will use this company again. Thank you ATX Express!!

A-TX Express has come out twice to my home in Hutto. Both times I paid only my warranty amount. Both techs were very kind and took the time to explain the issue. Keep in mind these are folks dealing with broken equipment in the middle of the summer heat or dead cold they are good and patient people!

I had a small issue that ATX came out to repair, and the initial repair seemed to go ok. Unfortunately, the repair person damaged the drain line from the AC and the water from my AC leaked and over time, came through my ceiling, creating a much bigger problem! I know accidents happen, and my issue is with how the company handle the problem. The owner refused to have anyone even come to my house to check it out, unless I paid for the visit. He claimed there was no way it could've been his company. We went back and forth and he was just so difficult to get answers from, and to deal with. All I wanted was a reasonable resolution, but I ended up dealing with his insurance company, who ended up paying the claim. The frustration I had to deal with, and the time it took to resolve this was ridiculous, over 4 months. I would not recommend them to anyone!

Today when technician arrived I explain the problem I was have witch was the AC unit was leaking. the technician found that there was insulation in the drain pan. he cleaned it and put some of it together than told me he was done. i pointed out a panel he left off and he re-installed it. 15 minutes later after the tech left, my AC was leaking again. When I called them back the manager Clark) was not ready to listen. insisted I wait longer to confirm that the water was coming from AC. Then Clark seemed upset at me and told me that he only hires tech that know what they are doing.... I asked if he would come back the next day and he refused. I asked for a refund and he refuse. I don't understand how these people stay in business.
-
Clark came out and added freon to my AC unit, charged me $1100 and never did a leak test. 3 weeks later AC not cooling again and he comes back out and finds the evaporator coil is leaking. Complains multiple times about climbing in to attic and now he's not returning my calls. So...I'm off to find another contractor to do the repairs.

BEWARE!!!! If I could give them zero stars I would. First of all, the tech (justin) not only replaced a part that didn't need replacing, but he wired it wrong. Then he bypassed a safety switch which together with the bad wiring job blew out my compressor. When I called to ask about the issues, Clark blew me off saying the tech was in the field and he would have to contact him then contact me back. I never heard anything back so the next day I tried to call and they were closed. Two days after they blew my compressor, Clark was supposed to come look at it himself between the hours of 3 and 6. A little after 6, he called and said he would be here within the hour. (After we sat here in a hot house waiting on him already for the 3 hours they originally told us.) We continued to sit and wait and again he called at 8 saying he was leaving downtown Austin to come to my house in Hutto. When I expressed concern for him not coming twice at the time he said, he basically told me to call American home Shield and have a different company come out, which I gladly did after the horrible service and work they did on my unit. Precision mechanical came in and saved the day, not only fixing what Atx broke, but completely fixing it. Now I am out almost $300 dollars for refrigerant in the new compressor that would not have needed to be replaced if Atx hadn't broken it. I would definitely steer clear of this company!!!!

We highly recommend A-TX Express. Clark and Tonya make a great team! They saved the day for us in a big way! We had the AC ago out before our wedding. With out them I am really not sure what we would have done. They have a high integrity and take great pride in the work they do too. I have AHS and feel very grateful I was able to work with them. Highly recommend!

My AC went out, so I put in a work order with my home warranty company, and they put me in touch with ATX Express. This was on Monday. The earliest appointment I could get was Wednesday afternoon, so not exactly the ideal but I figured it would be okay. The technician came out, and told us that the Freon was low (which we knew) but it couldn't be replaced because the pressure in the condenser was too high due to debris that needed to be cleaned out with an acid wash. The technician said that he would have to go back and have the office get approval for this from the home warranty company and that they would call me back from 8-9 Thursday morning. 11am came and nothing, so I called them. Tanya the receptionist told me that they were waiting on the warranty company and she would call me back by 2pm. I called the warranty company myself, and they told me that it was the other way around, and they were waiting on the contractor. So I called the contractor back and magically they were able to put me on the schedule for Friday from 1pm-5pm. I called Friday at noon to confirm my appointment, and I got the company voicemail and the recording said the business hours, and if I was calling during regular business hours, leave a message and they'd call me back. I received no call back and I tried again at 1pm to both confirm and hopefully get a more accurate ETA for the technician, and once again, I received the voicemail message. It gave the office hours as before, but this time instead of the "I may be away from my desk" line, it was "On Friday, August 1st, the office will be closed at 10:30 for mandatory staff training. Please be advised that if you have an appointment, the technician will call you 30 minutes prior to arrival."
At no point during any of the interactions on Thursday morning was I advised of the alteration in business hours or given the direct line to the technician so I could follow up myself if the office was closed. And it seems a little suspect that in the one hour between phone calls, the voicemail message changed.
There appears to be no sense of urgency with this company when I have been without a functioning air conditioner for almost 5 days in the middle of the summer in Texas. With temperatures in my home ranging from 88-95 degrees with windows open and fans on for the last 5 days, my experience with this company has left me feeling hot-headed in more ways than one. The only reason why I haven't taken off the last star is because I still want the option to adjust my rating pending evaluation of the technician's performance when he actually arrives. -
Our AC is up and running. Never been so thankful for cold air. Even though our home warranty company was dragging their feet throughout the repair process, ATX Express came through promptly when the ball was in their court. In fact, they were at my house next business day twice, which is remarkable considering the time of year and Covid. Another small but important part of why I like ATX is because they always answer their phone during business hours. I spoke with the owner multiple times and he was always courteous of our time and money.
Edit: After reading other reviews. Understand that if you're working with a home warranty company it's probably going to be a borderline nightmare since it's 3 parties communicating with a slow warranty company giving the approval for any work. Here was my timeline of AC repair and lessons learned since it felt like quite an ordeal and hopefully may help someone:
- Friday 6/05. AC went out. I tried a self-diagnosis and didn't call the Warranty company until Saturday night. **big mistake, call immediately as American Home Shield (AHS) only does traditional business days. If you're covered under warranty they'll pay for the labor. Make the call ASAP.
- Monday 6/08. ATX arrives and diagnosis the issue. It's a major repair, which fortunately had a temporary solution. AC is back up running in the same visit after they replaced the capacitor and repressurized freon.
- Thursday 6/11. AHS finally looks at the work request and approves for a technician to come and do the repairs. **If we'd not had AC during this time I would have been very frustrated by the wait time from AHS, having 2 LO's in the home. AHS queue call times are an hour, which is why I was so grateful for ATX's tendency to pick up their phone.
- Friday 6/12. ATX says they CAN COME THE SAME DAY. I tell them no because we have day-plans and our AC is working in the mean-time. They schedule for Monday.
- Monday 6/15. ATX comes and does the repair, AC is back running.
The take-away: call immediately, borrow fans from everyone you know, go buy a bag of popsicles, and be patiently urgent. -
We recently had an catastrophic fail of our AC system right before my wife and I left for Florida for vacation. My older son stayed behind to take care of house and pets and we reached out to AHS (American Home Shield) our warranty provider.
The initial service team scheduled could not come out for two days and i pressed AHS to find another technician. They reached ATX Express after hours and Clark was on a job in Georgetown till 6 pm but said he would come by and check. I appreciated his willingness to come over well after hours to try and help my kids get cool while we were out of state.
He communicated to me via Facetime on my sons phone and explained the issue and rigged the system where the fan could still be utilized for fresh air, and not allow the bad compressor to kick the breakers off which were concerning me for a hazard.
Once the parts were approved and shipped via AHS ATX came out and had us running in no time. We have a follow up visit to review the system changes and make sure the system is running ok one week after the install and Clark and the entire ATX team have been attentive and honest in all feedback. If you have AHS, they have strict guidelines that have to be met for repairs and replacement. Some feedback I have seen posted here pertains to AHS and not ATX. I appreciate ATX efforts and can recommend their services. In our case it was a great experience.
