Teddy was amazing! He walked us through the repair process and provided multiple quotes based on the work we needed. He knocked out multiple repairs for us and was super courteous and professional. He clearly takes pride in his work and customer service! Thanks to Teddy, Abacus is my new go-to plumbing company!

Always friendly and professional. Easy to book appointments, and never feels like I'm getting hard sold on things I don't need. We have their monthly VIP membership offer, feels like money well spent. It includes a fair amount of routine maintenance and nets discounts on larger repairs if/when needed. Would recommend.

I was charged about $450 just for Someone to come change out the flapper and the float in our toilet. Normally that might cost 20 or $30 just to go get it myself at the store. However, we paid these people so we shouldn’t have to do it ourselves. That doesn’t mean they should overcharge though. I will say that they were able to come at the last second and fix the problem in 10 minutes so that part was good. Way too expensive though.

HVAC estimate. A kind and respectful young man gave me three quotes. I interviewed 9 companies and compared 23 systems. He was very competitive and thorough. His consideration made it a difficult choice to not accept.

Frank and the Abacus Plumbing, Air-Conditioning, and Electric team in Austin were incredible! Frank was professional, detail-oriented, and worked under a tight deadline to complete my office remodel before VIP clients arrived. His team—Angel, Logan, and Johnathan—were 5-star assistants. They showed up on time, explained everything, and went above and beyond. Highly recommend Abacus for plumbing, AC, electrical, and handyman services in Austin! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Update August 14, 2025: I was contacted by Joe Trevino of Abacus, he listened to my situation and helped me get a resolution on the matter. I am glad the company has someone that listens to customers and understands customer concerns. I have updated the review for the time being and will continue to do so in the future. Like I mentioned in the original review, I believe this is a good company with good workers behind it, and I will be happy to continue to use their services in the future.

I did a full electrical upgrade with Abacus, took the service from 150 Amps to 200 Amps. Full exterior and interior panel upgrade, with the upgrade I got their Abacus VIP membership which includes a set of inspections like Electrical, Water heater maintenance, and AC Tune Up. On June 9, they came over and did a AC Tune-up, which their own website states they would tighten any electrical connections. On July 18, my condenser coil stopped working entirely and my house was up to the 90F due to lack of AC. When their technicians came over, they discovered burnt electrical connections due loose wiring. When I asked why would there be loose wiring when it has not been 2 months since they inspected the unit, they said it was not something they would take responsibility. I tried calling multiple times and speaking with a manager, but I was told they were reviewing the matter, at the end they reached a unilateral decision that it wasn't their responsibility, and that I would have to foot the bill for the repair. This means that getting an AC Tune-Up/Preventive maintenance with Abacus does not assure everything is working correctly with your unit. The work notes for June 9 state that all electrical connections were tightened-up, but that clearly wasn't the case. A new breaker, electrical panel and such did nothing in this case since the first thing that should have been addressed during the tune-up was completely ignored. The lack of communication from the management team is clearly a red flag. I have filed a proper complain with the BBB as this feels very unfair and deceptive practice. Before this, I had the company in very high regard, even though all of their other work was incredibly expensive it was also done very well and quickly. For the time being, I will leave the review at 1 star, and will change it as the situation progresses.

I believe they charge reasonable prices and they are a good company with good workers behind it. However, this situation has changed my view of the company and their care for their customers. I already spent a lot of money with them and I have no problems continue doing so in the future for more home projects and care. However, I will not let them take advantage of something that they clearly should have discovered during their services and could have been prevented as stated by their own website descriptions and advertisement.

Once again, I will update my rating as the situation progresses and I get proper response from ABACUS, which so far has been almost null. Most if not all communications have been unilateral.

I've used Abacus to change out my garbage disposal and this time around it was for our water heater. Both experiences have been great.

Our water heater stopped working on Thursday evening, I called that same evening and I was able to have an appt scheduled for Friday morning. Teddy Linnell came out, assessed the situation and we were fortunately able to install a new water heater that same morning. He was kind, informative, clean and best of all, he didn't wake up my sleeping toddler while doing his work hahaha. Honestly, I haven't had a bad experience, I feel their pricing is reasonable and they are a quick turn around. I'll be reaching out to them to replace my electrical panel (whenever I'm able to save up the money).

I used Abacus to unstop my kitchen sink because they advertised a special deal. Andres came out & fixed my sink & was very professional & courteous. I mentioned an outdoor faucet needing replacement & he told me I could have someone look at & give me an estimate at no cost. Jared came out a couple of days later & gave me an estimate. It was a very fair amount so I had him fix it on the spot. I am extremely happy I called Abacus & consider it a pleasure to have worked with Andres & Jared.

Donny, Hector and Jeff were great! We received a few competitive bids for the work and went with Abacus because we were impressed by the team’s knowledge and communication. The work was done well and we are pleased with the results. The team was also super friendly! Would definitely use again!

I highly recommend Abacus. They replaced my water softener, fixed a busted pipe, and did some electrical repairs. Their staff is very knowledgeable, courteous and on time. They left the job site clean. I am very satisfied and will definitely call them for any repair I will need in the future. They are an ALL in one company, meaning they do it all. They called me a few times after the repairs to make sure everything was working properly. I give them 5 stars by far with no hesitation.

Alex and his team installed a new dishwasher and gas stove for us and it was a wonderful experience working with them. They did a great job, were hard-working, respectful- I really cannot speak highly enough of the service they provided. Highly recommend this company!

After a realtor inspection revealed problems with our HVAC, which caused the buyers to cancel our home sales contract, I frantically got on the phone and called various HVAC companies to help us out. The inspector said the HVAC needed to be replaced. The first HVAC technician this morning gave us an estimate of $2000 for repairs, plus the service call charge of $85. Then, Brandon Martinez of Abacus showed up, at the end of his busy day, on a Friday evening. He politely and methodically examined the situation, while systematically servicing our HVAC system. He made a couple of suggestions to keep the unit going, while diplomatically suggesting we prepare for the eventual replacement of our HVAC. All the while, he educated and explained everything that he saw. His price was $79, for two hours of intensive work.
He chooses to work on straight hourly wage and not get entangled in the web of commission. Smart young man! Appreciate his honesty! 💙

Donald and Ethan did a wonderful job. I had an angle stop that had flooded out my bathroom. They replaced both the hot and cold for that vanity as well as the angle stock for the toilet. They also recommended that I replaced a soft copper piece underneath my kitchen sink. Tremendous job from McDonald’s and Ethan won’t call anybody else but Abacus plumbing.

Met with Donald and had a great experience. He was professional and knowledgeable. The water heater replacement was speedy. I’m thankful for the quick turnaround with being able to have our water heater replaced when a problem arose. Highly recommended.

Ethan with Abacus Plumbing came out right at 5pm and worked until 8pm to get our main water line repaired properly. Earlier this year the same issue was addressed by a different technician, but it was clear Ethan had a much deeper understanding of the problem and how to fix it correctly. He was knowledgeable, thorough, and took the time to make sure the repair was done right. Really appreciate his work ethic and expertise. Highly recommend asking for Ethan specifically.

I can't recommend Abacus enough; they are super easy to schedule with, reliable, efficient, and provide outstanding quality results. We've been able to rely on them for several needs including new electric wiring, water heater maintenance, and most recently HVAC maintenance. If you need HVAC service ask for **Pedro**! He is very knowledgeable, respectful, thorough, and does an excellent job making sure you understand the work that has been done. Before he left I had an email with a receipt, a detailed report of everything he did with numbers/readings from the unit and detailed pictures of everything! We were worried about mold and he didn't just tell me there was no mold- he SHOWED me pictures of the inside of the ducts, and all the areas that are sealed correctly to prevent mold. Our family feels so much better now! We will continue to call on Abucus for our homes needs, not only because they are reliable and keep us informed, but because we feel safe having them in our home. Thank you Abucus and thank you Pedro! Keep up the excellent work, youre making a difference!

2 stars because they at least gave me a good deal on a good unit, and the AC and furnace unit was installed correctly but the ductwork installed is poorly done and needs replacement after less than 3 years. They did promptly came back to fix a mistake (installed a return as a supply), which is good service if poor craftsmanship.

Abacus installed a new unit and ductwork the day before Thanksgiving 2.5 years ago and I think they really rushed the installation job of the ductwork, and also did not replace all the ducts that they had agreed to. The agreement was to replace all the ductwork that was reachable in the attic, and leave the ductwork in the walls. They missed or neglected to change 2 ducts and one of them is now the source of some water damage due to condensation in the insulation.

The installation of ductwork is a total mess. So many separate connections into a too small airbox, with the ductwork just jammed through rafters and piled on top of each other on the ground. It's no surprise that 2 ducts are now full of water in the insulation and need to be replaced.

I want to give them the benefit of the doubt that this installation was done badly because it was the day before a holiday, but I still wouldn't recommend this company for duct work. They did fine work on the unit itself but I really wish I hadn't paid them extra to replace ducts, they only made the problems worse in the long run.

Update: The reached out, I took the morning off work so a tech could come take a look. He took some pictures, said his boss would call me back, then they blew me off.

Taylor Brothers Plumbing & HVAC is the best choice for furnace repair and related services! We had a big job that required installing a new furnace and handling the ductwork in our service area. The team was knowledgeable and completed the work fast and efficiently, even when we requested a last-minute change. Bryson and Preston were very helpful and took the time to explain how to use everything correctly before they left. If you have any follow-up questions, just give them a call and they’ll help right away. Very satisfied!

I found Taylor Brothers Plumbing & HVAC through a family recommendation. Not long ago, I had another company do a routine heater tune-up, and they told me everything was working well. But I still noticed my upstairs heater wasn’t quite reaching the set temperature, and then the downstairs unit’s fan stopped working. I called Taylor Brothers Plumbing & HVAC for help. They came out the same day, quickly figured out that the downstairs unit just needed a new capacitor, and got it running right away. Bryson also offered to take a quick look at my upstairs heater and discovered it was low on refrigerant. After adding what was needed, plus some UV dye and sealant, my upstairs unit now keeps the house comfortable like it should. The pricing was fair—nothing outrageously expensive, and I didn’t feel pressured into buying a new heater or adding extra services I didn’t need. It’s great to find a company that gives honest advice and doesn’t try to upsell unnecessary repairs, especially since my units are getting older. I’ll definitely be calling them for any future heater repair or maintenance needs in Austin.

Our furnace stopped working one afternoon, so I called for help and Preston came to my house within the hour. It turned out the furnace was beyond repair, and I told Preston I wanted to move the unit into the attic. He explained everything clearly and told me what would need to be done for a proper installation. Meanwhile, my wife got other quotes from furnace repair companies, but they all said it would take at least three days and would be very expensive to move the unit to the attic. I’m really glad I chose Preston and his team. They arrived early in the morning, started work right away, and worked together efficiently and professionally. They finished the job by the end of the day. Now our furnace is running quietly and keeping the house warm, and the price was very fair. I highly recommend them for any furnace repair or installation work.
