I was offered a “cash discount” for services, and told I would be charged a “convenience fee” if I opted to use any type of credit card or debit card. To my knowledge this is not legal, you can not pass on credit card fees to the customer. The only thing you can offer is a cash discount. A customer can not be punished for using a credit card by a store, we already pay fees on credit cards. If you don’t want to take credit cards then don’t offer the service. Once I pulled out my check book there was no discount!!! They said the regular price was the cash discount?!?!? Indeed not a discount. This was my quoted price when I called. Proof again that they are illegally adding fees to people using credit cards. I did NOT get the repair because of the hidden fees! I paid the service call only and had the repairman leave.

Benjamin Franklin Plumbing was very quick to respond. Their customer service is top notch. They also took covid19 safety precautions. The technician arrived in a timely fashion and was able to diagnose my issue quickly. Fantastic Job!!!

Had them come over for a water softener quote and it was probably one of the worst proposal I’ve ever had from a company. They didn’t listen to what I wanted and tried to only pitch me a filtration system they were trying to sell. It was very evident that’s they were lying about some of the cost of the alternate systems as I’ve gotten other quotes and they weren’t any where in the realm of the prices they were stating. Very disappointed in the consultation and approach by this company and their employee. Will never be using them do any service.

Rep. Showed up on time and did a great job, cleaning up when done snaking out the sink in the upstairs sink. My only issue was the pricetag - based on the task and not the length of time needed. The clog was gone in 6 and a half minutes - cleaned up ang gone in 15 minutes. Price tag was approx. $450.

Jared was really thorough and a pleasure to work with. He immediately identified and resolved the issue causing our water blockage. Highly recommended.

Buyer beware..... of VERY high prices. They are unwilling to give ANY sort of estimate on the phone. ONLY option is a $99 assessment. Then $750-$1200 !
My issue: A slow leaking toilet from the tank onto the floor where it connects to the bowel. I told them this before they arrived.

Their ASSESSMENT / OPTIONS:
"Tech found the leak was coming from between the toilet bowel and tank. Gave price to Rebuild or replace JnJ toilet."
(EAXCTLY what I told them before they arrived. And they didn't bring the right parts!)
OPTION 1:
$245.00 LEAVE JOB TO GET NON STOCK PART (said they had to order it! and it would be in next week!)
+$508.00 COMPLETE TOILET TANK RENOVATION
$753.00 TOTAL

OPTION 2:
$1,202 TOILET REPLACMENT

I paid the $99 assessment (to assess what I already assessed!)
And hired someone else to fix it for $120.00
I was out of town, otherwise I would have fixed this simple issue with a $5 kit from Home Depot.

CRAZY Overpriced.

We had a water leak in our kitchen and it flooded the kitchen. I called Benjamin Franklin and they came within 40 mins.

Did an excellent and quick job of fixing the broken pipe behind the wall and got the water turned on in no time.

Work was completed in a timely manner and the company responded fast. However, the price for the work was insanely overpriced. I was charged 720 for a “full repair”. Afterwards I priced out the same work and was quoted labor/parts would cost 400 max.

Moreover, the angular turnoff valve was left damaged.

Owner did not check behind his technician when I questioned the workmanship The water heater was not installed correctly but it was left up to me to get Rheem to back their warranty(which they did) but you were going to charge me again for another installment at $1400 after only 14 months

I believe the water heater failed because it was installed incorrectly but I’ll leave it up to my insurance to resolve with you for damages

The entire incident was handled very poorly by Fred (the owner) but it’s his business

Jared came quickly and inspected the issues. My almost new kitchen faucet needed a minor fix and he gave me an estimate to replace it for some $750. I happily gave him his $99 service fee and fixed the issue myself in $20. It was a pain for couple of hrs but definitely worth it.

Jared Patterson and his colleague did an absolutely amazing job, to repair the damage made by another company. They did not leave until I had running water(5 hours) They had to dig and jack hammer through rocks to get to the underground pipes. They cleaned up and put the grass they had carefully cut back in place. He kept me informed and was super professional. I can not say enough, about the super impressive job! 🤩

FAST, FRIENDLY AND EFFECTIVE! Called on a Sunday morning and got a call back right away. They had Jared here within an hour and he quickly fixed the issue and answered our (many) questions about how to keep it from happening again. The tech came quickly and did a good job with inspecting and diagnosing the problem with my shower. He then gave me an estimate about three times what I thought was a fair price. To make it look acceptable by comparison he supplied two more estimates for a greater scope of work than I needed, also 3x inflated but for 2x the work, so $800 for work I had hoped to pay maybe $70 in labor and $60 in parts. I gladly ave him his $60 diagnostic fee and did the work myself.
In short, good competent professionals, unscrupulous business model.
