The best tankless water heater service in the Austin area! Roy, aka "Mr. Tankless," went above and beyond to service 3 tankless water heater units in our neighborhood, (two were mine). When we ran into an issue, Roy vowed to solve it. He came back the very next day, as promised with a different approach (and a separate pump that worked in concert with our specific breakers).
He's a straight-shooting, fairly priced, honest professional who specializes in tankless water heaters, only. So he knows his stuff with decades of experience. Nice guy, too.

It's important to find reliable, trustworthy, and responsive professionals. (A task that is harder and harder to come by as Austin continues to grow.)

I enthusiastically recommend Mr. Tankless for your Austin Texas tankless hot water heater needs. He will be my go-to going forward!

    Five thankful stars, thanks y'all!

Benjamin Franklin never fails to deliver. On-time, precise and professional. If you can ask for Donovan, he's incredibly competent, efficient and really understands the customers needs. Wouldn't hesitate to reach out to Donovan or Benjamin again.

I think this company is actually honest. I have the annual maintenance plan; I normally do not get those things, but this company is worth it. For less than $100, it includes annual water heater flush, and annual check of all plumbing. They called me to remind me; I did not need to nag them. Same day detailed quotes. Tim took the time to explain his notes of what is recommended, even exactly what parts (features) I can purchase for them to install. It was a very pleasant experience. Not a high pressure experience at all. Finally, a plumber I do not hate, and actually like.

3rd time I have used them. 1st time was great. 2nd was not so great. The tech got the work done but some of the things he did were questionable. Any way that tech is no longer with them I was told after I had asked specifically that he not be sent. Today was 3rd time and Andy was great. I knew the moment we met he was going to be a great tech. Very professional, thorough and skilled worker. Fixed my issue in good time and very satisfied with the whole experience.

Dave showed great professionalism & courtesy. He arrived as scheduled, ran his diagnostics, & made his recommendations. His written estimates for repair options were sent to my email promptly as promised.

Horrible experience. Waste of money but even worst a waste of my time. To start…I was charged $99 for a plumber to come out and diagnose the problem. The plumber arrived on time. (That’s good) Then proceeds to call me within minutes of his arrival to say he couldn’t find where the issue lied but that there was an issue. So then he immediately jumped right into pricing, as if he already knew from the beginning what he was going to charge me. Up until this point he literally turned on two faucets (5 minutes worth of work). Then he says he will call me back after I suggested he contact the shop next to me to see if they had any issues. So then he called me back and told me that for him to continue to do work it will cost me $528 more dollars to tell me if there was a problem. So now up to this point nothing has been diagnosed and I have nothing to go off of but he now wants to charge me more to tell me if there really is a problem. I was shocked. I questioned what was the original $99 for if not to diagnose the problem. No good clear response. So then I questioned what was the $528 was for he said to move the ceiling tiles. (Btw it was to move 2 ceiling tiles…5-7 minutes worth of work). So now I said will that help diagnose the issue and he says “maybe maybe not”. So not I am thinking $700 in and I still may not have a diagnosis of the problem. Through the next 5 minutes of a conversation I could not ascertain what I was paying for and what I would get out of it. So here I am thinking this could be a black hole of cost not because he refused to commit to delivering anything. Mind you I am happy to pay for services if I know what I am getting out of it. He refused to answer me directly and then started to blame his boss for providing the two line item charges and how this was not his company. I was appalled about how little he cared about how my small business would be effected. This is not a place for me.

They were able to come today, Donovan was on time, he made friends with my pups to put them at ease while he was talking with us (this was important to us), he discussed pricing with us before he started the job, he was professional and he knew what he was doing! We were impressed with his knowledge, he has a good sense of humor when engaged, and he is very nice and polite!

Donovan was a great plumber who completed the toilet installation very well. He was personable and congenial. I appreciated how he answered all my questions, and completed the service cleaning up nicely after he finished. He was very helpful, and I will be calling Benjamin Franklin Plumbing again if needed because they scheduled me very quickly, and took care of my plumbing problem rapidly.

They do good work, but they are much pricier than their competition (3-5x), and there is plenty of high quality competition out there. After receiving a quote, I contacted a competing plumber who was much more informative and found things the Benjamin Franklin plumber either missed or didn't tell me about, and he did the work for free as part of the quoting process. I would look elsewhere if you want high quality, good value plumbing work.

Thank you so much Tim for coming out today on such short notice and doing an amazing job. I called at least 15 other plumbers that weren’t able to come out today even the ones that say they have 24/7 emergency service and Tim was here in 30 minutes. I highly recommend this company but especially Tim. He was a breath of fresh air.

Called them in for a leaking shower faucet on a weekend and agreed to a $199 service charge. Thereafter, they wanted to charge $500 more flat to replace the cartridge (no breakdown). I declined and ended up paying on the service fee and replaced it with a neighbor's help in 45 minutes. So super expensive, I won't use them again.

TL;DR Summary: Extremely responsive after hours/weekend service. Tim was amazing.

Water heater started leaking massively on a Sunday. Was able to shut off the water myself, and immediately started looking for a plumber that was open. I admittedly called Benjamin Franklin last out of the ~10 plumbers claiming to be 24/7 ( the name/mascot seemed silly to me ), but they were the only ones that picked up. Some of the others are just getting back to me days later.

Tim arrived 15 min after I first called. Our water heater is in a difficult spot (in a tiny closet off of the garage) and he was able to quickly diagnose the leak source and identify where the problem with the drainage was. The original tank installers had installed the tank in a very lazy way, making service incredibly difficult without disassembling the plumbing around the tank, but he was able to quickly come up with really creative solutions that made it possible to service. He educated me on the whole system, and was able to answer in depth the technical questions I had about my system, alternatives (tankless), upgrades (re-circulation lines) and interactions with our enigmatic water softener system. He had multiple quotes ready for me when I asked for them, and was clearly tailoring his advice based on what was right for me, not what would get the company the most money.

Benjamin Franklin is worth the premium for their responsive 24/7 service. Tim is an incredible resource that is skilled, knows his stuff, and has amazing customer service.

When our water heater suddenly stopped working, I was able to get Tim and his assistant Gabe out to our house within the hour. He quickly diagnosed that the pilot light was out and led me through testing to be sure that was our only problem. He also gave me a quote on replacing the water heater, since it is well past its expected lifespan, and I know we are going to have to replace it before too long. But for now, we're up and running, good as new.

Had Jared make a visit first thing in the morning after calling in late the night prior with an emergency. Prompt, professional, and reasonable pricing. I would recommend Ben Frank Plumbknv for plumbing service and maintenance needs.

Called with a known issue with our relatively new water heater. I ordered and received the replacement part. I got a couple of quotes for the labor to install and that was about $275. Wife proactively called to have someone do the job but they told her that there is a $99 service fee. They came here, saw the replacement part and told me the job was more than double what I was quoted elsewhere. Free hundred bucks in 5 min for them! They could do that to anyone. Quote a ridiculous price and charge service fees for no work. Smart business model. I ended up getting great service from Mike from Leander plumbing for half the price. He was surprised that Franklin quoted so much and also that they left the attic with the water heater doors off and and not the way they found it. Professionalism is hard to find.

Mike actually was able to arrive an hour before the scheduled window of time. He was cordial, able to answer my concerns with the replacement of our water heater, and shared some details I was not aware of, which may have saved me several hundred dollars$. We discussed options and he forwarded a detailed estimate for each. I recommend Benjamin Franklin.

Tim did a great job— thoroughly and patiently explain things to me so I knew how my RPZ pool auto fill worked, and what to expect with regards to next steps. He arrived on time and was very friendly. Only feedback I have is that the price for parts and labor or a little high with this company (not the technicians fault), about 15% higher than others in my area… though I will rate them EXCELLENT in customer, service, friendliness, responsiveness, and punctuality. Even the lady who does the scheduling for the office was very friendly each time I called and responsive on anything I needed.

I called for a leak detection as there was a visible water leak coming from the side of the house by the foundation. Since the plumber could not arrive till following morning I shut the water off overnight. When the plumber arrived on Saturday morning I apprised him of the situation early I showed him pictures of where the water at late and told him I had turned off the water. After discussing the details of this repair job along with several other projects that I wanted to have completed the plumber went back to his vehicle to consult with his boss about the pricing for everything. The plumber return after 30 minutes or so and provided some estimates. I then questioned his methodology for attempting to find the source of the leak. We discussed this in a variety of ways he described to me. I again advised him that my primary goal this morning was to have the leak detected and repaired. He again went back to his vehicle to a wait for his boss to call. After a lengthy time of more than 45 minutes he returned inside the house. He then discussed possibly having to cut into the wall and do some other items. I told him I did not want to proceed with the other projects as their cost were exorbitant however the detection of the leak was my primary concern and needed to be addressed. It was at this point that he finally decided that he should turn on the water. This is almost two and a half hours into the service job and he finally decided this might be a good idea. When he turned on the water he said there was no protection of a leak and said there was nothing further that he could do. Now that he has left about 2 hours after his departure the seepage has returned where I first and again. He neither instills or demonstrated any confidence in his ability to address the matter. On top of this I was still assessed a trip charger $119. For what?? He did not know the scope of the work nor how to address the problem or detect the leak. His final parting words or sorry I wasted your time! Wasting my time... He wasted not only my time but $119 of my money

JP and Donovan from Ben Franklin plumbing helped us with a water heater installation including electrical disconnect and expansion tank. Estimate was done quickly and beat two other major plumbers in town. Install was done the next day on a weekend and completed in a little over 4 hours. Guys were very nice and professional and the new unit works great. No complaints with our experience here.
